Cultures are different and its hard to mix how you were raised with how others were raised, but its something you gotta do. If youre marrying someone, youre making them your other half, gotta make an effoet. Lemme give an example. I'm australian, I grew up in rough areas, i was surrounded by danger all the time. I cant fucking stand being touched . I dont like hugs(aside from my wife and daughter), i dont enjoy having people randomly touch me shoulder or my back when talking, i cant stand it. I also dont like calling people aunty or uncle if they dont deserve it, i have plenty of "aunties and uncles" in my family but theyre cunts. My wife though, her family is in newzealand, both Maori and White boys, touching, hugging all that shit is their culture. They also tend to call anyone older then them aunty or uncle. I just got over it. Its a different culture, things have different meanings and sentiments. When i go to new zealand all the kids call me uncle, the cousins call me cuzzy or bro and i call the elders Uncle and Aunty. We hug when we see each other, when were going home. They pat me on the back when were talking. Its fine, theyre my family too now, i married my wife, i accepted them. If i accept them, then i can make adjustments for them.
