I am a native Californian, older woman who has watched this perverse game of political football for decades. There has been ample time and technology over these decades for complete robust enforcement against illegal entry. And processing for legal immigration. Powerful interests (government and business) somehow stand in the way of the obviously achievable goal of a secured border.

Maybe the only important thing to have been said in Congress in four years. Very few, if any, laws in our country have changed in four years. November begins the investigation of who did what with criminal intent. Fixing these last four years is going to take decades. And its nobody's fault but the American voters who allowed it.

Enforce the existing laws. That bill would not have secured the border it would have thrown more money in useless places and sent more money to Ukraine
