@@xavierwilliams4119 absolutely it’s good to not hear vlad talk and i hate when he say that someone called him that he know personally like he constantly put himself in the mix
@lethal5 flow lol facts😂. By the way, his show The Lead Attorney is cool. he is more animated there. He is cool calm collected on Vlad show being professional and informative on the smooth tip.
Excellent interview. This guy is succinct, clear, direct, and articulate about subjects that many others would complicate with too many words and verbose. I was just reading about the economics of this case as far as the absurdly underpaid public defenders, and the economics alone of finding jurors in a process with a ton of defendants where a question that would normally take a few minutes can end up taking a few hours. They're nowhere close to finding jurors because like he said, who's going to agree to be paid $25 per day for at least a year? It makes no sense. Thugger and others should be allowed to bond under conditions or simple home confinement. These RICO cases have always bothered me because I've always questioned the Constitutionality of the law which was essentially a cheat code invented by the government to go after the Italian-American mob who were outsmarting them.
@@DJRenee I genuinely hope they beat it but even if the state loses the case, I already know the feds will indict them on a federal RICO since this is a state RICO. That's worrying because Thugger and the others will be forced to stay imprisoned for the duration of another giant case that could take an absurd amount of time on top of this current one. As I elaborated, I dislike these RICO beefs because it's a workaround from busting and convicting people fair and square. The prospect of beating a federal RICO is extremely nil too. Gunna going on the record acknowledging YSL is a street gang and witnessing them commit crimes in furtherance of the gang is essentially enough for a conviction if it's used in this case or the inevitable federal indictment. A RICO conviction comes down to "proving" someone is a part of a continuing criminal enterprise, as vaguely worded by the law, not actually convicting someone for crimes they can prove they directly committed. On top if that, they purposely throw ridiculous 30, 50, or life sentences for these convictions to virtually ensure someone will flip and rat on the target of the government, in this instance being Thugger. It's legally bothersome but I sincerely hope he beats it, and can get back to his life, family, and career.
@@lawrenceblack322 Then just don't watch them. I think you'd be more silly if u actually listened to a "silly rapper" instead of just keeping it moving.
There are plenty of college-educated Blacks that can articulate any issue but they don't get interviewed because the culture vultures make money off the uneducated inner-city Black that are in gangs and crime.
$7500 to my attorney lasted me about 3 months in family court going once every few months. When I had 2-3 court dates and hearings a month, that $7500 would last 1 month. Did that for 2.5 years. Every criminal court case I ever had was way cheaper. Plus you pay them once and you’re done. Family court is a money eating machine.
This is 1 of the most valuable interviews I've seen on Vlad. It shows the total lack of accountability of our justice system, especially Georgia! Also shows how a DA can target an individual with name recognition with no reguard legal process and constitutional rights. Our legal system now uses a "by any means necessary" approach to get a conviction. Our elected officials are acting in self interest and self promotion instead of following guidelines or even common sense. And this has mistrial written all over it. So this multi million dollar trial will fiancially penalize jurors, lawyers, witnesses and defendants so the DA and judge can become household names and monetize this situation.
@@acpjr look at you and how limited you are. What divorce got to do with him being intelligent on other topics? It's not his fault you only know and do what you was trained to do. Muppets and Puppets.
This is one of the biggest problems with the American justice system. A state has millions of tax dollars, an entire prosecutors office, the police, sheriff's office, state Bureau of investigations, a crime lab, can charge whatever they want as far as offenses go, and then it is up to people who have nowhere close to the resources of the state to defend themselves while prohibited from being able to do anything for their defense while held in pretrial detention
Ah yes, the real problem with the American Justice system is there are too many resources to bring criminals to Justice. Smh, if you don’t wanna go to prison don’t be a criminal. If you don’t want a RICO case, don’t order people to commit crimes.
@TheyCallMeJinx no, there is a thing such as fundamental fairness in our justice system. You are presuming that the person arrested is actually guilty, and I can tell you from personal experience that that is not the case always. A lot of times, people are actually innocent of the offense but due to the fact that the state can charge whatever they want, even when directly refuted by affidavits from law enforcement, which then gets you an excessive bail and makes a lawyer unaffordable. Now because you're in jail and can't work, you can't pay for your own legal counsel. That is not how our system is supposed to work. What people like you are proponents of would be something like Guantanamo Bay where people are held for decades with no due process based off an allegation. In order to be caught in a Rico case, you don't actually have to commit a criminal offense. You can know the wrong people and in an effort to get to who they want, they wrap a bunch of unnecessary people into the case.
@@notgoneconform Sounds like you committed a crime or know some criminals and are just trying to cope. The state can’t just charge you with whatever they want, not how the Justice system works. Why don’t you just not commit crimes or associate with criminals? You’re Guantanamo Bay argument is nonsense, you know the whole point of it is that the people in Guantanamo are totally outside of the US Justice system ? We’ve got way too many criminals in this country who just get away because of technicalities. No tears shed for Young Thug, he wanted to be a gangster, well this is what gangsters get. If you order someone to commit a crime, just because you didn’t commit the crime personally doesn’t mean you didn’t commit a crime, that’s the whole point of the RICO act. Focus on living life on the right side of the law instead of bitching when you get caught.
You really don’t want a free attorney. They care about winning, but they are so green it’s unlikely. Even with a paid lawyer, you don’t have the resources.
As long as the checks cash I'm sure he'd talk to you as much as you wanted. I've had a 15-minute phone conversation and been billed for 0.25 hours of work. Even though half the phone call the guy was talking about his own personal life.
@@snowbear163 … 📞 so my wife told me this bottle don’t go there ahahaha😂 Alright snow bear our session is over for today btw you’ll get the bill in the mail it’s 10k
Lol I live in rural north Carolina and my bills are $520 a month for rent and bills ( about $1050 total me and my wife split 50/50) send me out there! 😂😂😂😂
The problem with all of this lies within the prison system. Georgia has one of the biggest prison systems in the country. It’s literally a business for people to go to prison, even if you get probation at first. The investors of these prisons have enough power and money to put pressure on these judges and prosecutors to secure convictions. It’s that simple. Over the years it has become a professional game being played at the people’s expense, innocent or not.
Years ago I meet someone that was in the “game “ and he told me that when someone gets into the “ game “ they first must have 1. Life insurance, 2. Bail money , and 3. Gold coins to pay there attorneys under the table and I’m pretty sure that some of the defendants are slipping their lawyers some $$$ under the table.
Buddy they charge 300+ dollars an hour and the minute you don’t pay they can drop you as a client. They don’t need any fucking gold coins under the table.
The money you pay your attorney he wheels and deal with the system. You might pay for the system vacation you may pay for his golf trip or reelection you never knows where your money is going
@@thegreatoneforever5587 No presumption of innocence? I mean, in principle, I agree with you, but the problem is when you are repping that def who is actually innocent, although it looks like he is guilty as F! When we learn about a tragedy of justice, cats being released from prison after doing years and years for something they actually are innocent of.....well, at the time of trial, it seemed like they were guilty as F.
Yup, i know now. First selection for jury, lie my ass off. Got stuck in juror duty for two months due to covid. Then they mailed me a check for 75 dollars lol
Those guys should get a bond if they don’t have representation, just indefinitely holding those guys without lawyers and not knowing when or if they will get one is insane
Guilt has nothing to do with bail. Its whether the defendant is a flight risk or a danger to the community. If a defendant has a history failing to appear in court or has convictions for guns and violence they will be held on no bond.
1:14-1:27 If they have to choose from jurors that are retired that means these ppl are going to be older, and older folks are going to look at them as menaces to society. That's just the truth of the matter. 💯😩 That's why I pray 🙏🏾 it ends in their favor.
Federal employees still get paid their salary while on jury, idk if any of the jury pool are but I bet they aint in no rush to get back to work unless they just love they job
@DDG 1234 for sure any bargaining unit federal employee which is about 75% of them but of the remaining 25% I think 15% of that is mgmt who have the same provision so you maybe talking about 10% of the federal workforce who dont
This aged very well. He was completely right but this trial lasting way longer than he thought it would. I thought this was a new interview. This is old as hell.
@@k.johnson2722 What would happen, when someone deny to be a juror because he can't life with that little bit of money? Im not from the US so I dont know the laws. Thanks
This is just an example of how corrupt DA's are willing to sacrifice attorneys livelihoods, and destroy young mens lives just to catch some rappers. This is disgusting.
On positive note for Thug and the other... I personally think this case has MISTRIAL written all over it... Just better hope its a "mistrial with prejudice" so it cannot be retried.
Great interview, very knowledgeable, & I agree with his views on the Justice system, paying court appointed lawyers more so people who can afford an attorney gets some type of help, guidance, & a fighting chance to at least get a fair trial..
Who could survive on 25.00 a day! I’d find any reason to be excused from this case since it’s been so long so far! I’d make up a damn reason at this point!
If I was a newer attorney I'd take on this case because it's a high profile case so you'd be able to make big bucks afterwards assuming you did a good job or won. Play the long game
I get this point but is hard to take this case as a newer attorney as you have to pay your bills especially grad school loans. They would be better off looking for a seasoned attorney that already has money that wants to do this case probono.

The attorneys are building a billion dollar reputation as the "go to" for hip hop rico case law and being paid $15K. I think it's a very smart strategy to corner a niche market.
So you want them to go to their mortgage bank or landlord and tell them " trust me bro, years from now when another rapper gets in legal trouble im going to be paid, then I'll pay you"
@@tombondcrispy6585 Before I became a private attorney I worked for the government. Most government jobs and some corporate jobs will pay your salary while on jury duty. If over 30 days you have to request permission to continue to be paid. Some jobs will make you use vacation and sick leave.
Ain't no way I would be paying these lawyers that much and these lawyers haven't attempted to get any of those charges thrown out. This is the most flimsy case I ever seen. The damn R.I.C.O. Was a scare tactic. Smh
He’s definitely NOT an awesome judge. He is a pawn for the system. He sat there and denied all those people bond because supposedly these people were going to k!LL the whole Atlanta if they got out…but they minute everyone started talking pleas suddenly he feels the community is safe
They need to do a RICO against rich corporations and nations that work together to exploit young black, Native American, Afro Latino people. A case against the same people that created RICO.
