The lore of the (space squats) is quickly becoming a favorite of mine their kinship with A.I. is just so damn cool and shows how just treating them as equal can have amazing potential!
No matter how old or not old you may be Baldermort your a badass, never sell yourself short, however inexperienced you repeatedly claim to be as a writer, is in no way noticeable, your personal lore is as good if not better than anything within The Black Library. May you grow extremely long in the teeth and continue putting out material for my enjoyment (and everyone else) until I'm long in the tooth myself.
The fact they are the only faction to use critical thinking and not be chasing after some grand esoteric goal. It's amazing what can happen when you actually nurture your people instead of breeding ignorance. If the imperium will not realize their kin for the boon they are, then they should be turned to dust as a relics past their time.

The 13yr old and 10yr old twins are beginning to enjoy Living Mythology. 5yr old dearly adores GK Natural History, always asks to watch it, and is quite excited when a new one comes out. And the 2yr old, well, she is just happy to watch anything Papa likes. @@ursinecanine9657 However, they are referred to pejoratively as “squats” by normal humans. This implies that they either are in fact Squats, or there is a connection between the Kin and the Squats. Also, the Kin are defined as abhumans, regardless of whether they are Squats or not. *edit: it’s been confirmed. The old squats were a sub faction of the Leagues of Votann that was destroyed by the Tyranids. The Kin and Squats are the same, although “Kin” is what they call themselves while “Squats” is what they’re pejoratively called by humans.

Wooo, got here faster than a suspiciously large infant in a gilded gestation pod can breach the upper atmosphere(then the upper mantle) of a Feral World! And those quasi-divine little rugrats had a Chaotic speed boost thru the Warp. I had to sweet talk my Gellar field projector with just the right incantation and incredibly consuming incense waving!
I'm seeing the Leagues of Votann as a great addition to the 40k setting and, in your case oh great bald one, an opportunity to add a Kin ally to your Inquisitor characters.
As an Oldhammer player. My first army was "Squats" Engineers and Egg like power army. This was the so interesting after 30 odd years away from the Game. hunting up my old Rogue Trader book again. Even though my Power board ridding Huscarls will never see the light day of new Editions of 40K battlefields

I like as these leagues are becoming more and more the old squats, just with reworked models with a more futuristic tint and less clichet lore. Ancestors, technology, guilds, hearth, speedbikes and the cool addition of cloning and old AI at the core of Living Ancestors worship system

I think Robute should open up a highly secret line of communication with the kin, so as to keep the Adeptus mechanics from mucking up their tech. The Kin would be his Ace in the hole so to speak against certain lethal Xenos green skins and the like from doing a major incursion into Imperial Space. As far-fetched as it sounds how about a human child found as a baby and raised amongst the kin once he has grown to maturity and properly augmented in certain ways and educated as well could show up to request a private audience with the primarch and become the liaison between the Kin and the primarch using a Rogue Trader trope as a cover he would with his crew work the rim for kin and imperials a like and keep the primarch updated on certain dangerous Xenos movements in far space. I will presume that if the Kin physical augmentation is started on the human child IE bone mass increase slowly so as to not inhibit his natural growth enhanced immune system muscular density lung capacity and the appropriate interface when he dons the void suit and finally mental enhancement or training, he will be walking the line between two worlds and one of them would route him and his adopted brethren to take there toys
I do hope you don't think the mechanicus would ever let that stand?? As if they don't control the imperium, IT'S communication it's resources and anything mechanical as well as EVERY ship. Cawl doing everything by himself is stupid enough, adding an enemy that are clearly a threat to the mechanicus is breaking. If they said the imperium must kill the votan, not even a primarch can stop that from happening. The Mechanicus IS NOT a part of the Imperium and will do fine without it, the same can't be said for the imperium.
How much you wanna bet that Vulkan is hiding with the Votann, just doing his smithing, thing. Maybe the Artefacts of Volkan, when combined, would allow the Salamanders into the core.
The Kin have access to the most intact records of all human history. I hope we find out something weird like they're all big Stephen King fans for some reason, or they've got an intact STC for making chimichangas.
