I think I posted that message, possibly verbatim, on a previous Evil Wurst video. I've now had Rust for a few weeks, I die constantly, but somehow have the weirdest most unconditional love for this impossibly frustrating game.
@@kea444 That is exactly where I am right now, I die constantly but I keep building and looting for no reason, 😂 so wierd but I really really love this game even if I die and people raids me all the time 😂
Flip the t3 workbench to replace garage door. I built the base again and immediately got raided and all my doors went boom. I had put a t3 workbench down and was bummed out that i would not be able to replace that garage door. But then i tried flipping t3 workbench and it worked i could place the garage door again! The bunker feature works as well. It is all as good as new now minus all my loot. I'm hitting nodes with stone tools again working on getting metal... I'm such a farmer.
as i re-watch this i suspect a lot of players wouldn't realise how bloody good this really is!.... Opening auto-turrets from inside (having no way to close auto turrets outside your base, even within a high-walled compound means other players will just drain them, often fo no reasons), drop-down shot-gun traps, SPACE, CHEAP, s shooting floor! 'Vaultiness' 😁 .... and so on, and on and on... ALL new-intermediate and even advanced Rusty Freaks should always refer to Evil's bases. One day i may try to cross, this one, "Dad Bunker" and Drizzza's, "THE BEST 2X2 DESIGN IN RUST..." to combine aaaaaalllllllll the features of all of them...
Niiiiceee, two of my favorite bases from you combined in one? Cheap and well protected! I would only make some modifications like inserting furnaces into honey combed areas, adding barricades atop the base and electrifying the turret pods for easier deployment. Also, love your humor man!
Easiest raid route is through the workbench triangle as the auto turret can be drained through the workbench, we raided this exact base design with the exact traps placement a couple weeks ago
Love this base! My most anticipated base build video this year so far :-) Was a privilege and pleasure to playtest it the past wipes. And sorry for the base name... ;-)
I had a door blocked by a rotated workbench. Basically the workbench was butted up against a single door in a way so it allowed entry when rotated one direction and denied entry when rotated to the other. Additionally I noticed the door was only placeable when the workbench was rotated in one direction but not the other. Also GOD DAMN you've outdone yourself again. I love it.
@@EvilWurst it worked for me only with a level 2. I haven't been able to replicate my success after doing it once in my 2x1 on an official server. My second and third attempt to replicate have resulted in blocking the doorway completely. You inspired me to create the final version of this series of bases with only a single square foundation as the core. It feels very nice as a solo base. Now you can choose between 3 square core "Phoenix V2", 2 square core "Lazy Farmer" or 1 square (To be named by you).
I just recently started playing rust and saw your Thrifty Scot video. I've built it so many times, I can do it by heart. It's come in handy, but is only truly raid proof when it's fully built. If someone catches you in the beginning stages, you're pretty much screwed. But, I really love it for it not attracting attention due to its small size. But, it can be packed full of loot. You really need the chute and top level for research bench and work benches, though. Otherwise, you'll be stuck at tier 2.
Firstly, thanks for the vid and enjoying the base. I actually got raided into the shooting floor the other day because they can still ladder up the sides. I'd recommend building overhangs there. Also, you go very fast in these videos. It actually takes me longer to build your bases when you go fast funnily enough because often times I can't see exactly what you're doing and have to rewind several times. I think you should slow down your pace maybe 25%. Thank you for you videos.
Google's Translation: "Pretty boy! Even FORTIFY did. Thank! Always watching you. You have great ideas and thoughtful approach! Keep up the good work." Спасибо, пожалуйста! (Thank you, you are welcome!)
Building this now! I messed up on footprint and ended up losing the second locker space because ground level foundation wouldn't place, so I used high foundation and a half wall. I'm a solo anyway, so no need for two. :) So far I love this base.
i really like the idea of garage doors hiding the turrets! an electrical circuit to open the doors when hostiles are around automatically would be cool. you could use the heartbeat sensors with the door control units.
I was originally sceptical, until a clan rolled up on me. Gave me 8 c4 in turn for some damage to my base. Beautiful. Now I owe you two sausages. Damn dude, you’re putting me in debt.
usually i build a huge base but sometimes i just build a honeycomb 2x2 with shopfronts when i cba but this has shown me alot about lazy builds thanks man
I figured it out. If a minicopter decays and explodes while very close to the base, the fires (or explosion) can go inside and destroy some deployables. I think it's a bug, happens rarely but to be sure, don't leave a minicopter too close to your base.
Isn't that an issue with virtually all smaller bases? In addition, you'd have to piss off someone enormously so that they sacrifice a minicopter to drain a bit of HP from your lockers
@@EvilWurst I'm not sure if it's the explosion or the fire from the explosion somehow bugs into the walls if the minicopter is too close to the wall. Plus, minicopter are much more common after they shortened it's lifetime.
@@oldfoolplayinggames2067 plan on going solo on reddit next bp wipe miss the rush of being alone so im def gonna build this base design and i dont know cant help on who ppl are i guess lol
I've seen Phat take a bath in maple syrup while eating 13 sloppy joes as he washed it down with Mtn Dew. Because he was drunk off 2 Mike's Hard lemonades.
Another amazing base!, Don't know if I would use it over the mini-frustrator because I never seem to get any autoturrets :( Would be pretty easy (and satisfying) to add an electrical system with a switch or sensors to open up all those garage doors protecting the turrets so they hose down raiders.
I used this base and found a HUGE flaw with the hard way. If people know this design, they can shoot incendiary rockets on the tc from outside, destroy it along with boxes around it to despawn your loot (and propably your base too) just to grief you.
@@EvilWurst I don't know if it works reliably but i happened to me. Logged in just to find my tc destroyed (tc lootbox in the ground and not despawned yet luckily) the furnace and the boxes closest to tc heavily damaged but the rest of my base didn't have a single scratch.
Try adding motion sensors that connect to the auto turret doors, that would allow the doors to open only when someone is close and suprise them and it would also be harder to drain
Hello Wurst! The leech is a very well designed all round base and I really enjoy using it on solo/duo servers. Been raided once so far and it was obvious that they way more resources then they got out of it and I was even able to reclaim my base afterwards easily. Would love to get a few advises if you got a moment. 1) The shooting floor feels a bit empty. What would be your suggestion to fill it with? 2) I always run into the issue of needing an oil refinery. How would you attach it to the base (Ideally attached with direct access). Every placement I find I always feel I obstruct my turrets. 3) Luxury question - how would you use a large furnace with this base? 4) What do you think about a solo/duo series which deals with different aspects of buildings you might need. Fish farming (for oil), melting bases (oil ref and big furnace), sniper tower (to establish zone control), ideas for small trap bases, etc. basically everything an active solo player will need, be be luck independent. Id3tyD
1) the last time I used it, the shooting floor contained the research table, the repair bench, and half a dozen sleeping bags of my friends and allies 2) & 3) build these as external bases. You keep the upkeep down, you cover a larger area, and it usually costs more to raid several small bases than one larger base 4) great idea -- I don't see myself having the time though :(
Awsome build! But any way u can combine this and The Mini Frustrator? more loot like the Mini Frustrator but the easy defence from the The Leech that is awsome if u are only a solo or duo. And if u can also add so the furneces are in the the ground so u they don't take any space u gott eaven more rom :D The Leechy Frustrator!!!!!
Is there any workaround for the bunker part in this design? Even wonder if there is a good widegap shooting floor that kan be added? I used this before but a different roof design Probably going to try some stuff after i get home from work 😁 btw love ur bases
Great video man. What "Key words" are you using. I am trying to grow my views/channel and cant get that many views. The views I do get seem to like the videos. What do you suggest?
Keywords are just the icing on the cake. Focus on quality content, quality presentation, and quality thumbnails first. First, I would not have clicked your base video, because it does not show a base. Thus, a viewer does not know what to expect and may skip this video in favour of one with a thumbnail that communicates the content of the video more clearly. This is a bad signal for the YT algorithm, and your video will be recommended less often. Second, in case I had started watching that video for some reason, I would have closed the video about 10 seconds in. I was greeted by a distracting overlay, jumpy movements of the avatar / mouse, and a dark inside of a base so that I can almost not see anything. Usually, low quality production indicates low quality designs. That’s not always true, of course, but many viewers might move on at this point. This is another bad signal for the YT recommendation algorithm. Best of luck! Hope this helps! Evil
@@EvilWurst Thank you so much. Would you mind taking a quick look at my last video and tell me how I could increase the quality of the video and thumbnail?
I tried this for solo play. Worked very well of course. I came back to my base to see someone had blown through the back all the way to my loot rooms reinforced wall while i was out farming. no problem I just patched it back up. Then I was outside looking at possible upgrades to the base when i get shot at. I run inside and I assume its the same guys who had just recently blown through my walls because they have been harassing me all week and they brought back a bunch more c4. They say some mild taunts then begin blowing down my doors. I open up the auto turret doors and they struggle to deal with it. one guy gets in though before i can openall of the turret doors and kills me. Of course i left the doors on the inside all the way to tier 3 workbench open because i am noob and bad. He drops down and dies to shotgun trap. His friend was dead due to auto turrets. I get 4 c4, 2 sets of full metal gear (hadn't researched it yet) 2 aks an lr-300 and a bunch of other stuff. Double head shot the guy when he comes back with a second set of gear to try pick me off when im out looting their corpses. Shoot them like fish in a barrel as they run in naked trying to pick up their gear laying around. I scouted around their base. They either went offline or are farming all day to destroy my base when I'm offline. haha. For real though, I'm scared to go offline now.
Instead of the window in front of the tier 2 I have a garage door and a tier 3. Yes it sticks out through the garage door just a little bit but who cares and it acts like another wall because it blocks the whole corner. Just make sure to put the door in first.
@@EvilWurst I have 4k+ hours as a builder/defender primarily(not a huge pvp guy but I hold my own). My trio and I were admins of a very popular 100+ person community server for a few years. We have built and developed hundreds of different bases in bob the builder and then used them week after week in our server being tested by hoards of salty kids. Not flexing or anything I just say that so you know where I come from when I tell you that I really appreciate your style. Wurst, you are my kind of Rust player. Good sht bro... your bases speak to me and I find myself using them all the time now I don't care if people know where the TC is just looking at it from the outside("oh thats a mini frustrator") it's too hard and there are lower hanging fruit all over the place. Keep up the good work, I will most definately be watching.
Definitely expensive, but in my team, we usually have 20 of them by the end of the wipe. If you don't expect to find too many, extend the shooting floor
Hey your vids are really good but would you ever maybe make a base and not make it from like the start of wipe but as like we already had a starter because all this extra stuff confuses me haha
Hey Evil Wurst been watching your videos and love your designs but I noticed you never made a bus stop design, unless I can't find it? Can you do a video on one please.
@@EvilWurst I feel like you could come up with an Evil Wust twist to one, I'd be interested to see what you came up with lol. Nonetheless, love the videos :) Keep up the good work and thanks for the reply.
Huh The Tier 3 can just be placed on the opposite side and the furnace on the right? Then you can just remove the furnace to place a new door, or did I catch something wrong?
Any particular reason for the half-height floor triangles being wood? I was testing out the build on my own server and /up 2 to upgrade any twig to stone also upgraded those triangles. The only thing I can figure is that there will be wood elsewhere, requiring wood in the TC, so you may as well use the single 1k stack you'll have in there for multiple things -- is this assumption correct?
hi man. What do you suggest instead of turrets now that they demand electricity? I came back to rust but Im not sure how much of a hassle is setting them up and connecting all of that, if its worth doing that is.
Setting up turrets is not super trivial, but easier than you think. I believe it even got easier recently. But, since I’m on a break now, I cannot verify that
I like building your bases, but I always end up getting the walls to the TC destroyed because the raiders knows what's up. I'm always amazed how people that spend that much time into this game will always win because of C4 and explosives bullets. Feelsbadman
Yeah, that's the one downside of building bases from RU-vid that are well known. Good thing is, the TC is the best-protected spot ... so even going directly for it might not be worth it
