AS I understand it, this was an exercise their manager assigned to them to try and get them thinking creatively. It never actually aired or was used by Coke.
It's got shades of Desiree, which is not quite as catchy as this marvel of emotionally perfect music succeeding using the commercial catch phrases as catchy melodic rythmns
Wow, had no idea they recorded a commercial jingle for Coke! The Supremes also recorded a jingle back during their "Things go better with Coke" campaign. I get a kick out of the fact that I prefer Mexican Coke -- it's made with cane sugar and still comes in those distinctively shaped 12-ounce bottles.
Mexican Coke is what I consider to be the real Coke. The way it used to taste for decades prior to the arrival of New Coke in 1985 and the switching of sugar for high-fructose corn syrup and yet calling it the original formula when it clearly wasn't. I was a kid when the New Coke debacle took place and they brought back what they called Coca Cola Classic, even I could taste the difference. It did not have the same taste as before.
