Efren use to sleep in the billiard table when he was a kid. Pacquiao use to sleep in the boxing ring when he was a kid. Now both of them are living legends
Just few years ago i watched first video of Efren Reyes. And in last 5 days im just watching continuesly his videos like no one.and now im going to build my own pool table in Bangladesh. For the name of the god of pool 😍
HIS NICKNAME BATA At night, while he was dreaming of playing pool, the pool table was his bed. Reyes is often referred to as Bata, which is Tagalog for 'Kid', because there was another older pool player named Efren when he was young. To distinguish between the two, he was referred to as Efren Bata.
He's so good that he doesn't even play for the prizes, he plays for fun. He makes the most simple shots so difficult not for bragging, but to make the game fun for him to play and others to watch. He's actually so humble that it's a pleasure for the opponents to lose for him ins such majestic ways.
You didnt even notice the first opponent of efren bata get money on his pocket and the person collecting cash from the audience when the game has finished and already winning.
I've listened to interviews with him. All the pros play for money (outside competition) he played ronnie O'Sullivan at an exhibition in Thailand for 500 in snooker and took him twice. omg. Also in the interview they say they play in phillipines everyday for money, but he is really generous and give most of it away knowing he will win more tomorrow. Agreed he is a gentleman of the sport and magic to watch

It makes me sad and scared to see him grow old. I dread of the day we lose him. But always makes me happy seeing him play again. One of the GOAT's of 9ball.
nata2kot din aq dumating ang araw na yan. kaya twuce ko xa pinanood sa 30th sea games this week lang. masaksihan lang ang galing nya. pero 65 pa nman xa mahabang buhay pa. nka2sad lang kc may mga iniinda na xa gaya ng sa balikat nya kya gus2 man nya mag entertain at masiyahan ang mano2od sa magic nya kaso d nya na ganun nga2wa. but still the greatest of all time in billiard.

Thanks for this video. I have not watch any video of my idol Efren 'Bata' since he decided not to play in international tournament anymore. From the title of this video, I already have an idea what I'll be seeing and that exactly what it is.. the amazing God given talent of 'The Magician' is still there! I'm so happy for him, still playing well through the years. How can you not be amaze with this great champion, I have witnessed him playing in Lucky 13 way back in 1975-1977, and I have detailed story that, I posted in one of his interview with Billy Incardona titled "Thank Your Mr. Reyes". It's already 2019, so more than 40 years playing this game and he can still make those unbelievable shots, that's why the Americans called him 'The Magician', they have no idea that the shot Efren was doing was possible. I have seen pretty much everything of Efren's unbelievable talent in this sport and I consider him the GOAT of this sport, he is the genius of this sport. Believe me, when I first saw Efren play this game, I was super impressed and just shaking my head and couldn't believe that this game can be played the way he is doing it, almost impossible but he was executing the shots and I was watching. In this video @4:00, that shot banking the ball to the side pocket, was one of the shot I saw, I couldn't believe that's possible, but he execute it perfectly with the right speed for the ball to dropped to the side pocket. I saw it again in one of his game playing in Germany in RU-vid, but was deleted already. So that's not 'tsamba', ginagawa talaga! Since then I become a big follower of Efren, I would rather go to Lucky 13 and skip my classes in college just to see Efren play. Efren's knowledge and talent in billiards during those years in my opinion was good enough more than anyone else in the planet, and I wasn't wrong because the moment he find his way to compete in international competition, it didn't took so long for him to be recognized as the best in the world. His famous story coming to US under the name of Cesar Morales is a proof of how good his billiard game was. He was a new face who entered a big time 9 ball tournament where the best of American pool players were competing, and the big story was this new guy was beating everyone in the tournament and was 10,000 richer after the competition, but when ask for an autograph signed as 'Efren Reyes'. That's how Efren came to America and it didn't took so long they called him 'The Magician'. I heard so many stories about Efren, the most dominating and intimidating player during the 80's in America, but one thing that can't be denied. the Americans love Efren so much because he is such a humble man, who keep saying 'He is just lucky'. But just like what the commentators keep on saying whenever Efren was playing. No one plays this game better than Efren. Sorry for the extensive comment, there's just too much story I like to share, as usual just paying tribute to my idol.. the great Efren 'Bata' Reyes!
Why am I crying everytime I see Master Efren bata Reyes play, regardless of who his opponents are.Maybe,it's him and the phenomenal track record he put in history.Forever proud being a Filipino, with Master Efren around.
Do you remember the name he first used ? they don't want to use Efren Reyes back in the days for fear of scaring the opponents , they've heard the name Efren but not the looks.

4:33 that ayayyy reaction hahahaha 5:16 returned with a what-a-finish shot 🤘 9:01 and that cue placing woaaah 🔥🔥 9:14 an effortless final blow 😎 it's like turning your back from the ring after shooting a three-point shot He's really a timeless master! One of a kind--the humility and the talent!!!
Whether in top international competition or in the backstreets pool tables , Efren is a perfectionist , he's old now but still not fading. True Legend !
Yes very humble man never brag for his successful life ..attitude of being just the same he still love all kinds of people Good man .... More power to you Efren (bata) Reyes....
At 9:11 his opponent already conceded defeat that's why Efren made his legendary "trick-shot" to entertain the crowd watching!👏👏👏 Mad respect for The Magician!👑
That very last shot tho....... THAT is what makes Efren the true living legend that he is! That shot was so satisfying and he can make it in his sleep.
Salamat. Ngayon ko lang nakita syang mag laro. Have no idea at all kung kailang na tumanda na ako. YES, YOU ARE A LEGEND AND ALWAYS BE. Kaya pala uso noon ang billiard at pool. Now ko lang na realize. Thanks to the Lord for this. Poud po.
Want to know how I been watching EFREN videos? 4 year ago I googled who is the best billiard player in the world and there were a lot of videos of him and I quickly got fascinated.

José Alves avô da melissa: também jogo sinucas. Todos os tipos, mas um jogador do estilo desse Efraim reyes, nunca vi igual, ele é demais. Nunca vi em toda minha vida ninguém jogar como ele! É espetacular.
@@ApoNiApoTu he played Carom. Something he never plays dude! No one plays it in our country. At his age, he has nothin to prove so i hope that remark is not sarcastic
1:25 Love how this guy took like 2 hours setting up to make his shot and then after he makes it Efren just walks up and makes a shot so good that the guy gets up from his chair and looks at the table to try and understand how Efren could have made that shot.
He knows every inch every cm of white ball shot will go. He not just played with pros, but with hundreds of good and amateur players in his country. He is very low profile. He dont need a good pool table to be good, even cheap pool table works perfectly for him. Really salute this legend.
Efren is almost a god Of pool Efren makes he´s opponents look like everyone is a bar player The only player that can beat him, is his self. and i love in his first shot in this video, the guy look at the 8 ball and said he is so lucky, I can really read his mind... ty Efren. Would be a dream to play Against you one day and test my skills …
On the last hit at the end, he turned to walked away, not watching if the ball will go in the hole, because he's sure he'll get it. That is beyond badass. I just wish at that moment he put on sunglasses for the even better badass effect!
What I like about most of these clips is that he keeps a very humble lifestyle, playing with the common people, despite being recognized internationally as the Greatest of All Time by the past and present Goliaths of billiard/pool. Most people with such acclamations would be at a penthouse suite, drinking champagne and boasting about their car collection, flaunting their wealth and power~
yeah come to phil, to phils slums, he doesn't consider himself as the greatest, he's still that kid who slept on his uncles pool table, will play anyone anywhere.
:28 *Dude* "I REALLY got him safety-ed here... GOAT: "Hold my beer" Bruh, that shot is OFF THE CHARTS hard, and not only that, he left himself perfect for the shot AFTER talent level 50 million right there.
