@@deedeec1306 Europe has loads to do with it. The Lisbon Lions team won in 67 then another final in 70. You can't compare that with getting 1 point in the group stages. The 67 side were up against a Rangers team that also got to a European final the same season. Even Kilmarnock got to a semi that year. The domestic standard was much higher in relation to other leagues than the SPFL is currently. So winning the domestic title was a harder challenge then and winning the European Cup (minus the top goalscorer for the season) that year was miles ahead of dominating what is, on the grand scale of football these days, a weak domestic league. Even compared to the O'Neil and Strachan sides who used to be unbeatable at home in Europe. The current side just lose home and away in Europe. I'd say probably only 2 of this side would get in the O'Neil team that went to Seville (Hart & Carter Vickers). The SPL back then was far tougher too. At that time Rangers had players like Klos, Numan, De Boer x 2, Arteta, Gattusso, Van Bronkhorst. That's a 10 times tougher opponent than the recent Rangers side. Even a tean like Dundee had Cannigia, Ravanelli, Burley, Novo etc. in those days. The money has declined now to reduce that quality and really there isn't much in the way of competition now so you have to consider Europe for a true picture of where a Scottish champion lies in the grand scheme of things.
