Not all the heroes I design necessarily lean towards the side of moral righteousness. Often they can be very self righteous. In this case, I spent a while thinking about how I wanted my Centurion to be. If you look at Roman history, betrayal, self serving actions, and self righteous indignation was VERY common in the military, government, and officials. So I felt that kind of come out when designing Gaius Verus. In fact, his name is taken from the full name of an actual Roman leader: Gaius Julius Verus Maximinus "Thrax." Both of their stories are very similar actually, and my brother sat down with me a while and discussed why Gaius here would likely prefer Horkos over Chimera.
