Like...this isn't just a crazy statistic in the history of smash, it's a crazy statistic in the history of competetive games in general. And it's obviously not against some randoms, it's against the best in the world

My favorite MKLeo story is from the most recent smash summit. In winner's Spargo has to fight Zachray with Aegis vs Joker. Spargo beats Joker and sends Zachray down to losers to fight MKLeo. MKLeo doesn't want to do the Joker ditto so he goes Aegis vs Zachray's Joker and wins. Then in Loser's finals MKLeo has to vs Spargo and again doesn't want to go the ditto. So he opts for the literal opposite of the matchup he just played and goes Joker vs Spargo's Aegis and wins taking him to grand finals. Zachray had it rough losing the same matchup twice, Spargo won once then lost to Leo, and MKLeo ended up winning the same matchup twice from both sides 😅

I think Leo just has the works for being a legend. His neutral, advantage, disadvantage, adaption, combos, gameplay etc. is pretty much always optimized. He has lots of experience at the top and nerves of steel. He also wins far more often than not, and everyone is nervous looking up at the final boss, whereas he is just playing another person. He pretty much has all that it takes to be the ultimate smash player 95% of the time, hence the occasional loss. I think what seperates top players from Leo- sheeps from goats, even- is that nobody quite has Leo's nerves and consistency, in my opinion.

Where is the 'Leo vs Samsora SmashCon Grand Finals'?? LITERALLY the definition of game 4 Leo

I'm surprised there was no mention of Leo vs. Samsora Smashcon GF. It's the set that cemented the legend with it being a carbon copy of what happened at Evo 19 with Tweek.

great content but there is a few things that can be improved: -the chart with all the connections is overwhelming, even the one with only red and green squares, is hard to follow -there was a lot of repetition of the "we know what is going to happen right? .." sentence. - the analysis of marss counterpick stage was kinda off, it was just a mistake and in that case there should be an analysis of the other matches

I wonder if PGStats can give Leo's overall record in Game 5 sets. There have been times where he was down 1-2 (the Cosmos sets are pretty notable for this) and times where he has lost Game 5 sets, but I think it paints a really good picture of something that also feels like a known fact even if it isn't infallible: The longer a set goes on, the more likely Leo is to win.

It’s not the crowd that made the difference at riptide either it’s the fact that Leo studied his vods from summit and went to riptide to right the wrongs which he did.

As someone who has followed his career since Zero saga way back in the day, it has been a hell of a ride. I knew back then he might become #1 in smash, but never guessed he would become one of the best competitors of all time. The kid is an inspiration.

I don't know whether the crowd and atmosphere is what impacts leo as much as online lag does. You can't react to DI as you can offline, nor are you able to space or refine the slight timing mixes that make mkleo as good as he is.

Great video! I really appreciated the effort that went into its writing, production, editing, and analysis. I'd just make a few constructive critiques for future videos: - As some others have said, the script was often a bit over the top with the artsy, poetic "can you feel it?" "do you believe?" "something was in the air" "magic was about to happen" "legends live on in our hearts" type of language. I feel like it slowed the video down, made it a lot longer than it should've been, and created a sense of repetition in the language being used. In writing classes that I've taken, the instructors/professors often call this "fluff". I think some fluff is great, but it can also be overdone very easily. - As some others have said, the diagrams were hard to understand. I appreciate the analysis for sure and would've loved to understand all of them. I think the main problems that I saw were that (1) some diagrams were shown with very minimal accompanying verbal explanation, as if the creator expected that we've seen these types of diagrams before, (2) some diagrams lacked labels on the axes (e.g. 15:58, 21:18), or lacked a key (e.g. 23:49), (3) putting diagrams inside diagrams (e.g. 23:04), especially diagrams that are never really explained in detail throughout the video, only make the information harder to understand. And all of the text in all of the diagrams should be large enough to read easily. As far as presentations go, visually, less is almost always better than more. It's hard to focus on what is being said while trying to decode the visuals. The simpler a diagram is, the faster it's understood, the better. - In a lot of instances, the narrator omits certain details or pieces of information, as if the viewer should know what happened, either because they saw it already or because they can tell by looking on the screen. I guess that would work if the intended audience is people who have followed smash ultimate this whole time and who watched all of these events, in which case this video would be a nice recap and analysis for them. But for people such as myself, who haven't been watching all these events and who are just now trying to learn about the history of these players, it was hard to decypher what was happening at times. Like at 11:38, saying that MKLeo won game 4 and "the rest is history", I was sitting there assuming that MKLeo won game 5, but it would've been nice to hear the narrator say it and explain what happened in the game, as clarification and confirmation. At 13:15, "Tweek manages to go up 2-1, but by this point, you sorta know what that means." It would've been nice to hear the narrator just say something like "MKLeo takes the set again, 3-2". At 13:38, "What's this? I'm getting a dispatch that-- oh no. At this point, Tweek, you should just drop the first game, maybe that will help," it would've been nice to hear the narrator say "MKLeo takes the set again, 3-2." At 15:17, "Well, you know what's going to happen right? Haha, you thought. This isn't a fairy tale children," it would've been nice to hear the narrator say "Marss wins grand finals, with a dominant 3-0." In these moments, I was constantly scrambling to find their scores on the bottom or top of the screen. It felt like much of the story relied on the audience's ability to find the scores themselves, because the narrator was not verballing saying what was happening. I get that you could argue that it's easy enough for the viewer to find the information themselves, but I found that to not be the case because I was also trying to see what the Smash characters were doing to each other in the games, at the same time. Each clip only lasted a few seconds so there wasn't really enough time to do both. Naturally, I'd watch the plays (e.g. ZSS hits Joker with up smash) but then the clip changes before I can see what the score is. There were a lot of instances like this, that left me in a mild state of confusion throughout the video, occasionally rewinding, pausing, and just not sure of what I was supposed to be taking away from the story. Perhaps it's because I'm just a casual follower of smash, but that was my experience. Simply talking the viewers through exactly what was happening, and clearly saying what you the creator wants us to see, would've been a huge help. But like I said, I really enjoyed the video and I learned a lot about Smash Ultimate history. Thanks a bunch, and I look forward to your future videos!

Greatest video of 2022

I think the most amazing thing about Leo is that he manages to be so consistently at the absolute top in a game where so many other great players struggle to even be consistently in the top 5 ( pretty much the only thing everyone agrees on when ranking player is that Leo is the best ). Ultimate has such a huge roster of viable characters and lots of great players playing in very different ways, yet he still consistently places in top 3 at massive tournaments

I think what a lot of e sports people don’t consider, is that when people at their A game in ANYTHING fall into “the zone” there is nothing that can stop them. You let an opponent fall into their groove, they ride by the seat of their pants where every reaction is instinctual, it’s like white line fever. Just because you aren’t playing a physical sport doesn’t mean that the zone doesn’t exist.
