Amon walking through Taarlok's blood bending is one of the most badass moments in all of Avatar, imo. Especially on a first watchthrough.

Fun fact: during the conception stage of avatar, aang was originally supposed to have a polar bear dog as his companion. However they switched it up to a bison because bisons have cultural relevance to Buddhism

One of my favorite things about this episode when I watched it for the first time was that bit with Sokka. I really enjoyed watching his development in ATLA, but his appearance in this episode, while short, showed that he definitely continued to develop as a character and I truly loved it!

The voice actor playing Yakome is Clancy brown, who you may recognise as the voice actor of Long Feng in the original avatar series. He is also Mr. Krabs.

Yakone can Bloodbend a courtroom full of people, including Aang and Toph, with no moon at all, with nothing but his FOCUS. He's CRAZY powerful.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend... doesn't necessarily mean that "friend" is still your friend when the mutual enemy is gone. Amon is absolutely Korra's enemy, and intends to steal her bending... if she didn't get away, she would've just traded captors.

Rest of this season is amazing! Season 2 starts slow because they didn't know they were going to have another season so they didn't have plans. It gets to be incredible midway through and then is solid from then on

I still wish I knew more about the later years of Sokka and Suki. Sadly they never touch on them, not even in the comics. Also adult Toph and Aang look Damn good.

There's a lot I love about LOK, but my least favorite thing by far is them turning Toph into a cop.

Toph never like being a cop. It was a favor ask by the others. They needed someone who had power to tell people were lying and train a police force in mental bending. After a while Toph hated the job and quit.
