Sane and Smith are sued by the City of New York after they write graffiti on the Brooklyn Bridge. #graffitidocumentary #graffiti #nycgraffiti #sanesmith #nyc #nychistory #nygraff
These are great. Sane was a year or two older than me, met him once, a real chill dude. I miss the old NYC so bad before real estate development sucked all the life out of it.
Incredibly touching . In the art world, this story is legendary. He made his mark certainly. His story echoes a very good childhood friend of mine who did graffiti as well. He also died tragically of his own hand at the age of 20. Suicide is never the answer . All it does is transfer the temporary grief you are going to , to your loved ones. Your pain ends for you , but only begins for every single person who ever loved you. Your memory will be forever tainted with a pinch of sadness.
One of the best films I've ever seen!!! Absolutely beautiful, just one of those stories that needed telling for a very long time now...much love from Berlin ❤️💚💙🩵🤎🖤
Once in a while you tube has a doc that stops me in my tracks …this is it …..this is amazing and I’m spreading your channel to all my friends this is thorough as hell my brother
I didnt get into graf til my late teens but of course when i began to study this.. i was shocked and amazed and proud and shocked.. they lived literally on the same block in wash hts. 172nd. Their building was by Haven ave. Im right up the block at St. Nick. I even have a picture of me as a child at J. Hood park on the next block in 92 with a pink 'Smith' piece behind me. Two dope ass coincidences.
This was a much-needed documentary & I saw both parts. However, i would add that it was SORELY lacking interviewees that are more known who were VERY close to Sane. Many writers from AOK/RIS. JA till this day puts up Sane. Ghost did a TON of sh*it with Sane. They couldn't have been interviewed? Still, great work and I look forward to Part 3. My comments are intended to give good suggesitons not tear down the great work of Sane
Very fire documentary series can’t wait for part 3 also does anyone know the book name they are looking at in the video is that sold to public or that a private made book for just smith probably cause I def need a copy if so lmao
@@jackjones544 Are you my english teacher? This a RU-vid comment not a fucking essay stfu. Is that better for you're illiterate self , . ' ; / ' , there's you're punctuation homeboy
@@jackjones544 You do know this a RU-vid comment section and not a damn SAT exam right, you are over here proofreading ppls comments on the net get a life. So I grew up in Washington heights in the 80s early 90s.. would see SANE SMITH alot in crazy places. Never knew he was from my neighborhood. I was tagging from the heights to 231st in the bx myself and my boys in the bx KBP Kingsbridge Bomining Posse BM Born Mad BC Born Crazy. Learned later that my mom went to school with and knew Taki 183 as she grew up on 184th st. We lived there through the Crack epidemic and finally moved out after the riots.
Peace… The good old days. Grew up on Creston & Kingsbridge. Was a toy writer Lil Staz with BAR (Bombing & Robbing) and CYC (Crazy Young Criminals) down on 225th & Bailey Ave. Had friends in BC and also fought against BC… 😂 Wrote about the misadventures in my book Next Stop Growing up Wild Style in the Bronx… Glad we lived to tell the tales! One Love!
@ivansanchez5185 I lived on Sedgwick for a little while across from the reservoir. But mainly hung out on 231st and area around Broadway. Fun and crazy times growing up. Couldn't understand unless you were there. I gotta check out your book! Peace!
@ivansanchez5185 I moved out to jersey and then pa when I was 16 It's been forever and I lost touch with all my boys but apparently you knew some of my boys
@@abryant78Definitely knew some of the Born Crazy guys. Some were friends some were enemies. A lifetime ago! Thankfully a lot of us survived. And those who didn’t are always remembered with love and laughter. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Sane, Smith & Pink still has a full amount of tunnels tag still living in every 5 borough till this day. Krylon & Rustos can hold up a Life time in Tunnels
On my first trip to nyc 1989 i was given David and Rogers phone number. I called a few times. Spoke to their mother. Never got to meet them. I met up with Aone Tds Tdt. Sane was also a member of both crews. Aone put me in tdt in 1989. I've met Jonone two or three times in England. He told us some crazy stories. I wrote an article for a Graf mag in 1994. The article was called .... "Impressions of a name" . The article was about Sane&Smith by MistOne tdt. Smc. RL Rest in Peace David Sane Smith & Anthony Eden AONE Clark. Tds Tdt.
@@snakewizard8523yes that's the article. Magazine was called The Real State. A friend did the mag. It sold mostly in LA so she moved there from England uk. She ended hanging with all the Hip Hop stars in LA as she worked at Deathrow Records. Her name is Nina Bhadreshwar. You can find her on RU-vid talking about hanging out with Tupac etc. She also wrote a book called "How to Survive Pubity at age 25"
I met legendary Tracy168 last year before he passed and hung out for a while. I asked him if Sane was pushed/suicide/or slipped. Tracy said "how about all 3?". He did tell me the kid was a dust head. Which is not a big shock in the graf world.
