I watched your newer stuff and I gotta say, you've come a long way since this video. Your narration, pacing and storytelling have significantly improved. I'm so excited for a re-cover of this story with your current skills
Yeah, sometimes you can't do fan service for the sake of fan service, it'll be cool, sure, but sometimes it just feels unnecessary when it has no substance behind it.
Galaxy Dragon87 interesting, I always seen good writing as writing that makes sense but doesn’t always satisfy everyone. And on the other hand fan service tries to mix both.
DBS: Goku and Vegeta Time DB AF (young jiji version): Gohan is one of the Big 3 like in the Buu Saga. Goten and Trunks get development. Adult Gotenks is awesome. We get to see angry Gohan. Gohan and Vegeta get a new form before Goku. Goku still saves the day cuz lets be honest, we love Goku.
Whoever made this fan-manga is very talented and I’m impressed with how it solely references to the original story perfectly and makes the art perfectly replicating Toriyama’s art style
Not really, his art is most resemble to Toriyama's art, but so inconsistent, some good, but others looks slack. ... is hard to replicate Toriyama's art 100%, the only one that really close is a chapter in DragonBall Multiverse
*This AF story is exactly what I have been preaching for years when it came to the Shadow Dragons, this is what GT should’ve of did with the Z Fighters instead of making it a Goku and Pan adventure when everybody had their part in over using the Dragon Balls...this was satisfying to see even if it’s not animated.*
@@blue-12316 I know that the point was that this story puts roles and focus on characters other than just Goku and Pan in what GT did. I just brought up one of the arcs on GT where it could’ve been better in a way seen here
@@dukkemonterier3429 I could only imagine the power of the shadow dragons if they came from the super dragon balls. Each one would probably be angel level strong at the very least, possibly even as strong as the grand priest or Xeno even. That would truly be a battle to watch and I don't see a good outcome being remotely possible. Best case scenario is probably Xeno erasing all of reality and starting all over or maybe both Xenos (present and future) fusing with each other and fusing with their guards and maybe even fusing with the grand priest and all his children and they still might not be powerful enough to defeat the super shadow dragons. Good thing the super dragon balls weren't over used 20+ times like the earth dragon balls. In current canon timeline they were only used twice (Zamasu's wishes were in different timelines where he did take Goku's body so they don't count here) to give Champa his earth back, and 17's wish at the T.O.P. so I don't think there's any danger there yet.
Even so, that wouldn't explain the lack of the gods. If in this timeline ssjg was still a thing that means that all the gods are still a thing. So where's Beerus? Where's Whis? Knowing them both despite the god forms being unobtainable by regular means it doesn't explain the lack of these two since they would most likely still hang around for the food on Earth. It's a great fan manga but still has its flaws.
@@iaminconstantpain4330 maybe they never introduced the gods. Clearly they scrapped the transformation, so it was most likely a one off. You're knitpicking a fan manga, this was fire af. Definitely better than anything you could recommend. It's the same goku, he could achieve ssg, no doubt.
@@iaminconstantpain4330 I feel like in this scenario since Goku is "dead" at the time, and they all depend on ssj4 and ssj5, they just wouldn't be interested in God power, since they already chose the Monke path.
Young Jiji truly understands Dragon Ball. I love how Death actually has meaning here. However it does seem to feel like a.....boss rush. The first quarter was pretty strong while the rest was decent. The rehash of Shadow Dragons was unecessary imo. Should've just been one super powerful Dragon. Old Kai or Dende said that they would have to defeat a more powerful Dragon, not DragonS. Overall though, it was really well done for a fan. He really understood Dragon Ball and the characters. It felt like an official continuation to me. Your Narration was awesome too.
Honestly I feel like there should've been one big shadow dragon arc where they fight the Namekian shadow dragons and the Earth shadow dragons so they can prepare for a greater threat down the road that worked in the DB world. However, it works pretty well as a story all things considered
I like it better this way. Young Jiji has been known to start projects/ mangas then completely forget about them. Even though it was a boss rush, at least he completed it.
I find it rather touching that Vegeta is immediately even more enthusiastic than Gohan to train to be strong enough to take on what would result from using the Dragon Balls to bring Pan back. I realize that it’s Vegeta - he’s down to train anytime - but it gives off the impression that he’s changed so much that he even considers the Son family among his own.
This man is a genius he convinced me to watch a whole two hour video against my own will I feel like it was held hostage this is a really really great Video 🐐🚀
half way through the making he watched battle of gods this was before super so at the time there was no for sure on the god form so he took the safe route and already planned on using the ssj 5 for the form to save the day ( i say the form to save the day because since frieza most fights we got to see a form be used or a new form be used) on the topic of ssj god and stuff it was so new that he and other artist making fan made dbz manga didnt try to risk it or just put a twist to it he probably thought they would have to do a ritual to unlock it again. or we can forget everyone and make it simple by saying the author thought ssj5 is stronger then ssj god or made it stronger ( even in that mind would never be stronger then ultra instinct and yes i know that form wasn't out yet i just wanted to state no way it would be stronger) sorry for making this so long just thinking about your comment mad rant but a curious questioning one that happens to me all the time when i think of something sorry if this reply makes no sense i tried my best to space up things i just type to fast not as fast as i talk sadly ( never try to talk to me when i m on my miny random rants or add something to it because i will drag you into it and it could go for a little longer ) anyway thanks for getting this far through the reply and have a good day well by the time you get to the end it might already be night anyway good day

Dragon Ball AF was actually written and drawn by Toyotarou, who is actually Toriyamas current successor, who is drawing the Dragon Ball Super manga. this was a long time ago, so he's obviously greatly improved since then as well.

And he's with 18 and I'm surprised 18 didn't fight more because she literally can't run out of stamina and she will outlive most of them naturally so why not bring her in to help fight the shadow dragons even if Bulma needs to overclock her to do it? Hell bring in 17 too and overclock him to help out. And is it just me or do you think it would be cool to see Mr. Satan put on the pants he wore the day of the Cell Games and finding the hard drive or memory unit or whatever of Android 16 and remembering, "oh Yeah, Gohan blew it away and I picked it up, I better take this to him!"

Goku should be wished back to full age as well because I don’t like Goku as a child and I was extremely happy when Toriyama instead of chose to make The Pilaf Gang into children instead
@@tehjboney4249 It doesn't matter for the sake of this story as this is the "end" so Goku will eventually grow until his full body. That being said, he's clearly younger than even Pan's generation at this point so.. damn
It’s funny how Goten and Trunks are very similar to their fathers when it comes to fighting. Goten doesn’t transform until he absolutely has to, like Goku, and Trunks powers up right away, like Vegeta.
Jijii is actually mega salty bout toyotaro being the manga artist for super and for a long time has posted his own versions of toyotaros panels saying how much better he is at using toriamas style
You can see several pannels that were traced, the one that stuck out to me was Gotenks losing his arm. Its Tien vs Nappa, plus all the battles were: Strong baddie, hero powers up, puts baddie in a corner, baddie powers up to even further beyond, hero still wins when going to max power. I still like this fan manga, but its a very predictable plot.
When the guy narrating almost sounds like a younger version of the Narrator from DBZ, but you can nail Vegeta's voice to a T and trying to voice him in this... Damn
@@thomasbarkman4417 Shenron actually resurrected Goku who was being killed by Omega only for a short amount of time so that he can defeat Omega in exchange to becoming his successor
I wish that someone with access to a professional art and audio studio could animate this and make this an actual series, because it sounds interesting.
@@noahcoggins1309 So, uh, what episode does that happen? I did some digging, and NOTHING online confirms that. I can't say I perfectly remember the whole Baby Saga though, so either it happens quickly in some random episode or it never happens.
@@noahcoggins1309 Fair enough, though ignorance seems to be understandable in this case lol. I'm skeptical about claims like that specifically because of AF. Sometimes people use "facts" from AF as explanations for stuff in GT.
Best 2 hours of my life thanks for the complete story plus I loved how vegeta was a insulted by his daughter and the story expect from the dragon saga they could of done something better but it was still really good ssj4 gotenks is pretty cool
I really like the idea of Frieza's race having a thawing period. Though, I thought Cold was weaker than Frieza so i'm surprised he had a longer thawing period.
@@thepassivepasta4982 That's headcanon. King Cold didn't have a second form. The repression forms were unique to Freiza (and Frost because he's Freiza's U6 counterpart) because he couldn't control his power.
I wanna say, this manga is amazing, but i have one major gripe with it: Young Jiji reuses a lot of frames and poses to a noticeable degree which really takes you out of the fight making them feel artificial. and i was really for a fusion near the end there but i gotta admit the images of the character doing the attacks was really cool.
At least Toyotaro makes his own work, even if he references certain things. Youngjiji's work is all noticeably traced, not his own work. That's why it repeats itself - he just retraces scenes he wants to use, and slightly adjust things to change the character/appearance. He's persistent, not skilled.
Man I always fucking loved Dragonball AF stuff scrolling through forums back in the day like ssj5 art and all that but I never found all of this, this is amazing. It's literally like my childhood dream come true.
Okay so I just finished this watched an hour last night before I got too tired woke up did some stuff and finally finished it, this was amazing the author and artist are amazing, your whole video with sound effects voices, this was much more than amazing, I honestly dont have the words for how great this video was.

@@isiahalcindor6278 I disagree. Maybe in some of the action but in all honesty this a lot of plot issues. It conflicts really hard with GT end too and it also makes a comment about how one of the Dragon’s makes a statement about he was born form the wish of SSJG. So why is everyone using SSJ4 if they all saw and know about SSJG?
What an absolute manga. I usually dont comment or like videos mude but gave a like and comment to this because this is outstanding. Goku power gave goosebumps and the ending brought tears❤
It was a great experience watching this with narration, and off course the fun voice acting. SFX sounds and panel to panel zoom ins where greatly done. Thanks for the upload, yo!
SSJ5 in this varient (before Goku got it) was absolute badass material (including when Goku has it) but the way it was used to kill Gohan was just too double edged. I like the form a lot, reminds me of Super Saiyan 3.
This was top-shelf. The art was amazing! And the story was pretty cool as well, even if there were a few rehashes. Gohan getting the spotlight is always awesome in my book, and that finale with Goku striking with all the other characters behind him, that had me tearing up. Very cool.
Now that was awesome! Loved the story. Not really a fan of everyone getting a ssj5 form but absolutely love that everyone got their screen time. This manga made me a huge uub fan lol
I'm not going to lie watching this video made me feel nostalgic for Dragon Ball and not just any Dragon Ball content just this kind of content from you specifically I literally subscribed immediately after 2 minutes have passed and now that I've made it to the end of the video I have fallen in in love with your channel already
Whether intentional or not, Young Jiji has successfully made me feel a whole cluster f*ck of emotions in the mere viewing presence of Super San Shenron. Truly a step up from Oceanus Shenron in the best possible way. Oh dios mio..
this has been really entertaining so far, the way you've dubbed this makes me feel like i'm watching an episode that's been pumped to the max but seeing trunks and goten train in the hyperbolic time chamber with such results makes me wonder why the other fighters don't just train there all the time
