I missed this type of Zelda. 2-D, thats why I liked Links Awakening and Link Between Worlds.. and my all time favorite Link to the Past.

This was the only Zelda game ever where Moldorm wasn’t a hassle to kill

Fun facts about this game: 1. The Master Sword is in it; they just call it the "L-2" sword. 2. This is a direct sequel to ALTTP. It's the same Link, which is why the final boss takes the forms of Agahnim and Ganon. 3. First game to employ "bomb arrows". 4. First game with an Ocarina, NOT OOT. 5. The boomerang is one of the most powerful weapons in any Zelda game. 6. First Zelda game to use a trade sequence 7. It's up for debate whether Link dies at the end. We know that LBW Link is a descendant of this Link, so maybe he doesn't die... 8. And of course, LINK CAN JUMP.

It's amazing to come here and see what the old ones are like. It's also great to play an RPG on the switch that feels like when I played Pokémon silver on GBC. They really did try it's the Gameboy game here and I never played the old one. Kudos

I did the Evil Eagle in somewhat less than 5 hits... FIVE... Upgraded sword, Red Mail and the Power Piece must have given me 6x damage... I also hunted down on another save to find the Secret Seashells right before completing the fifth boss... and skipping areas to find items to gain the sword was pretty satisfying to say that! Awesome game and one that has aged well with the DX version!

I love the boss battle theme for the game it's awesome

There's a small bug in the 7th dungeon boss fight. By pure chance, you can kill the boss without him using his special attack that requires the mirror shield, thereby completing the dungeon without having gotten the item. You can't complete the game though as you need the shield to get past the fire spitter before the 8th dungeon, but it's a funny bug nonetheless.

This and Pokemon were my two favorite Gameboy games. I wish they'd bring back the Piece of Power pickup. It was great sending enemies flying with one hit.

The quickest way to kill Nightmare in the final phase is to use the boomerang. It one-shots the eye

I remember having memory space issues on my gameboy and couldn't save so I left the game running 24/7 with a charger, only to never beat it bc it would eventually reset with low battery lol. What a game.

I'm pretty sure what happened is Ganon corrupted Link's mind during Link to the Past (probably when he got sent to the dark world), forcing him to sleep until he beat the corruption. This kinda makes sense, because the last boss has attacks similar to Link to the Past Ganon.

The wind fish looked like he was hung over with one of those old school ice packs on his head. 😆

Meanwhile ganoon sits staring at all this from the void thinking..."Wait? I COULD HAVE TRICKED HIM INTO KILLING EVERYONE FOR ME? Huh... I may have to try that.

I've spent hundreds of hours on this game across dozens of playthroughs between the original GB version this DX version... I never knew you could take out the Lanmola with just 2 damn arrows lol O_O

Why didn't Link listened to the bosses who yelled at him, that Link is going to end the world? To quote the sand face boss thingy: "If the Wind Fish wakes up, everything on this island will be gone forever! And I do mean... EVERYTHING!" Just go back to Marin and enjoy the peaceful life in this little village. ;_;
