I've been thinking about remixing the entire link's awakening ost (yup, the whole thing), and this totally made my day. The atmosphere is just so good!
I always love when people make comparisons to the original works with my covers; it's a huge amount of praise! Warm and comforting was what I was going for :)
Link's Awakening is one of my all-time favorite video games; it was the first GB title I ever owned and the first LoZ title I ever completed 100%. I still have that cartridge today and the music is one of the greatest parts of its storytelling. You've made my whole week with this!
I love the harmonies you've added and your interpretation of the song in general! Good job! And as always, your covers make me want to just close my eyes and embrace the harmonious flow of peace and nostalgia :)
Dude, this is a great cover. I could fall asleep to this any day. link's awaking is one of my favorite legend of Zelda games. The music in the game was just so good. I glad you made a cover of this, it put a smile on my face :)
Thanks heaps mate! Even if you don't play it all the way through, it's pretty interesting historically; there's a lot of mechanics that influenced the creation of OoT.
Dear god, where have all these covers been? I remembered being upset I couldn’t find any of this song, and so I spent half of today trying to make my own, only to find this and a piano cover immediately after!
@@Soundole just checked, and yeah there’s a lot, even a bossa nova version. I could’ve sworn I looked for covers once and only found one I didn’t care for or maybe just none, but there’s more covers for this than most songs, and with plenty of variety as well! I guess I didn’t look hard enough…
Thanks heaps! I didn't do too much to the original at all, just added some light percussion. Everything else is exactly as it was in the original track!
You made me go for my cartridge of zeldas links awakening xd, your tune is worthy of being heard in an amphitheater my friend, greetings and that where you are having a good time.
Thanks so much Eric! One of the main things I hope I can bring to what I play is just a little bit more phrasing than many of the original tracks have :)
Your content gives me chills every time I listen to it, it feels so nostalgic even though I've never played this game. fantastic song to sleep to as well, keep up the amazing work!
Awesome cover! I've never played the game, but I decided to give this a listen anyway because your other covers are pretty great, and I'm really glad I did. I'd love to make an orchestral cover of your cover, if you don't mind!
Please do! I'd love to hear what you make of it :) And yeah, Link's Awakening still (mostly) holds up, I think it codified a lot of Zelda franchise staples.
Thanks so much mate, I'm glad you liked it! I picked up the EWI in 2009. I only played it pretty sporadically though, I was originally a clarinettist (that goes back much further, at least 2001 or thereabouts) and I didn't start seriously working on EWI technique until maybe 2011...ish? Even then, it's only been very recently that I'd consider it a main instrument :)
Not sure if you've done this one yet: Secret of Mana Upperland Forest - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NxW6oUEEYAo.html (also still crossing my fingers for DQ4 - Taloon's theme ;)
I haven't done that one yet! I'm definitely not finished with the SoM soundtrack, there's quite a few tracks on there I'm looking forward to covering eventually (no firm date as of yet though) :)
