The Legend of Zelda (NES) Dungeon Theme Original orchestra link: The Legend of Zelda - Suite (Live with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra : SCORE Game Music) • The Legend of Zelda - ...
@@PresidentFlip Yep, in the Royal Crypt. But tMC is a bit old too, and this theme should be a classic just like Hyrule Field is. The mysterious yet dangerous atmosphere it brings is just right :) And this cover is absolutely perfect, so much intensity in it. I'm open to novelty too, they proved they definitely knew their stuff was their amazing take on Ballad of the wind fish + castle theme in BotW which turned to be the most badass song of the game (exterior hyrule castle theme)
I mean we got all that but instead of this it was Link, Zelda, and Ganons theme mixed with an original piece. I do hope this makes a comeback for a Cave or Dungeon theme in Tears of the Kingdom though, like how the original Death Mountain was for BotW, hopefully similarly to how that theme was converted to a sort of ambience, this will be too. I'd love that so much
2:32 is that moment where you find the boss in the Dungeon, and it's this hulking behemoth of a dragon. I like to imagine that it's a Gleeok of some sort, and it just dwarfs you with your lantern in one of your hands, and your sword in the other hand.
This brings me so much life. Y'all have no idea. It literally has saved me listening to this. Understanding how this soundtrack from childhood impacts adulthood, proves that Link's journey is a reflection to all of our journeys; learning how to wake up as an adult. This composer expressed all of that. I sit back and praise this group of humanity for taking the time to interpret the emotion behind this music. Though a small piece of time to some, it is moments like this that helps us move forward, triumphantly, despite the odds. Like Link, its' time for us to take down a dungeon wall or two.
I really hope you're doing well. Awesome comment 👍 BotW takes me away from the terrible aspects of life. I Love losing myself in Hyrule fishing, prospecting gems from deposits, hunting for prime meats, selling my goods etc. I played 1986 Zelda and used to dream of the mysteries and dungeons until I beat it. The 2nd quest was fun as well.
To say that I have been a Zelda fanatic for over a quarter century is discomforting. Getting old is a terrible feeling. However, Miyamoto, Tezuka, Nakago, Soejima, Marui and Kondo made us enjoy the quickly-passing decades with the greatest gift in the entire world. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤
when this starts at 2:30 it is so good its the moment in the movies when ether when the villain first appears or is gloating about a villainous plan to the hero of the movie.
Imagine playing a new 3d zelda game, walking in a long open dark tunnel and then you slowly see the shadow of a giant Ganon pig/dog appearing in the distance, through the half lit tunnel, and you know, you just know, you are Hyrule only hope, the chosen one, and it's your duty, nay your destiny, go forth and vanquish that beast. That music is what should be playing
I would make a legend of Zelda nes original remake with modern graphics and have it retain its dark atmosphere. 3D, not 2d. It would be understood that Ganon already won. It’s not like he’s trying to return or take over, no. In this game he won. The adventure takes places YEARS after Ganon won. It should have a shadow of the colossus vibe. There is nobody around in the land, it’s a land overrun with monsters. You’re visiting a ruined place. This Link, should not be a Legolas pretty boy, he should be weather beaten, covered in dirt. A Siegfried, Tarzan sort of character. Feral, wild. He was left behind the in the evacuation of Hyrule. His starting armor is a bear skin pelt over his shoulder, cave man like. Even though he eventually gets shield, sword and proper armor, his motion under the controller’s influence should not be precise and controlled like a knight. Armor or no armor this Link is still a feral little beast. Any special moves are done in complete ignorance and are comedic in that they actually worked. The player should never forget Link is not a knight errant. He should be very out of place. He would also be significantly younger than Zelda. Zelda shouldn’t be his peer in this version. The breaking of the triforce of wisdom was years ago. Impa is no longer the strong warrior she once was and is easily cornered by Ganon’s minions. Just like the original, Impa goes looking for a champion warrior. She’s resisted though from leaving Hyrule, think Uzumaki, unable to leave town. Link saves Impa because she’s the first person he has ever seen in years. People are like dreams, memories to him it’s been so long. He can’t speak, obviously, but through magic, of course, he learns of Zelda and the Triforce etc etc. Impa dies. Thus fueling Link’s drive to stop Ganon. It’s one thing for a monster to steal venison from him, but kill the only person he has been able to find? The 9 dungeons can have a story behind their shape that is left loose enough for players to speculate on. Should have a Jewish abomination of desolation thing going on. They were once, very important sacred places, now they are rotting, mournful. The music in this video the way it starts slow evokes this. Link’s apprehension. When Link defeats Ganon, Zelda and Link leave Hyrule and tell everyone Hyrule is free of Ganon’s influence. People can settle there again. She becomes a prophetess of sorts and Link is her guard. Link and Zelda do not live to see this mass migration. The name of this game, the legend of Zelda, is not because it’s about Zelda but rather it’s the legend OF Zelda, as in, when the people finally retake and resettle Hyrule they refer back to what Zelda would tell them about Hyrule, and the stories she would tell. “It just like the legend of Zelda!” the people exclaim when they see the various landmarks and things Zelda would speak of. But yeah…. Let’s have another cartoon bright colored bubble gum looking Zelda game.
holamoco Me. Only 4 but still attempted. I remember watching my grandmother play Zelda and I would just sit there mesmerized. She still plays the original legend of Zelda on her old NES til this day. I play it on my emulator. Lol.
I had the same experience. My grandmother taught me how to play when I was way to young to understand the game. She passed some time ago and I picked up the game on an emulator to give it a shot. Weirdly enough with my memories of her guidance I can 100% the game.
holamoco What's crazy is, we all remember this song as having that alternating melody, being played by the pianist, in the background. When, in actuality, that part of the song didn't even start playing until you got the dungeon compass.
Personally I'd use this as a dungeon theme in botw 2. It should be a throwback labyrinth dungeon where you find a broken entrance to a dungeon from forever long ago legend of zelda. Should be a very scary place too. A place thought lost to time
sonicteam2k1 omg yes, the brass bloody hell, I love it the deep sounds of the horns... so beautiful yet so terrifying, the emotions flowing through this music... blows me away every time
sonicteam2k1 The original game is ome of my all-time favorites. Its very very special to me. Especially since it is right now, the only Zelda game I have ever 100%. I have gotten max hearts on 3 Zeldas though. (Not including when I cheat just to mess around. Usually when I play, I do not cheat.) Those games are Twilight Princess, the NES version obviously, and Breath of the Wild.
As a person who grew in the beggining of the 90's with that epic golden cartridge that started the legend, i find this mind blowingly awesome!! that Zelda theme was PERFECT
6 year old me frantically going room after room, until you finally reach the one close to the boss and you hear them breathing. That was some scary shit back then.
Here to say that this theme would be magnificent if it was brought back for some of the deep dark and Dank caves in TotK...... Imagine you are moving inch by inch with your mushroom lantern in one hand and sword in the other with this creepily droning on in the background and the strings start up & a colossal arachnid drops down in front of you...
This is so BEAUTIFUL! When the music gets all intense at 2:30 My heart felt heavy and I started crying! they need this in a newer Zelda game immediately!
If you would've told me as a kid that this would be featured in a symphony, I would've asked you what a symphony was and then when I found out, laughed about it because I wouldhave thought someone was playing a joke on me. My hat is off to the SRS for performing this and moreso to Koji Kondo for having the ability to create this from the few little notes and sounds available and creating such a timeless piece. Think about this, Beethoven and other classical composers created timeless works and had orchestral insturments in their wide ranges and infinite combinations to create their amazing works. Composers like Tanaka and Kondo had 5 channels (2 with square waves, 1 with triangle waves, and 1 for pulse beats and a sample 1bit channel) to create their masterpeices. Literally like 9 notes across what was the digital equivalent of a bass, drum or sample track, 2 three note tracks for 1/4 to whole notes, and one track for 1/16 notes. To further exemplify what I am saying look at this to know wht NES was working with: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-la3coK5pq5w.html This track used to give me chills a kid and get me anxious about what was around the next corner. Without tracks like these in NES games, I don't know that I would've been so entertaianed with games and would have probably gone outside more and not wrote this comment for sure. They were connective tissue for the games. This was a phonemenon in a way as if you really look at the NES library of games, the games that had great cound tracks were almost always popular, with the exception of a few (i.e. Journey to Silius we see you) and the ones that didn't often faied to hit the mark (with of course a few exceptions like Tetris, but one could argue that sound track was so neurally ingraining that it was nothing short of amazing).
0:24 entering a cave that leads to the 0:58 in the main hall of the dungeon, statues staring back at you menacingly 1:30 obtained the main dungeon item, ready to solve the puzzles 1:58 last room, final riddle 2:34 boss
18 haters still own a Sega genesis and have no idea how it feels to play the the first game you could ever save your content on. The same company that invented 3d gaming, not to mention console platformers. If you don't respect Nintendo, you're simply not a gamer.
Holy shit, it's been a while I didn't get an eargasm like this... it gave me chills That's not the official 25th anniversary's orchestra isn't it ? Or I'm wrong ?
Anyone else imagine this in a movie: 0:16 Link enters the cave 0:58 He sees the bones of people who didnt make it it was in fact "dangerous to go alone" 1:54 Link sees a scribe of Ganon 2:23 he sees a BIIGGG foot - 2:32 a HUGE GANONDORF COMES OUT 2:57 he is struk down and realies hes too weak 3:01 he sees he has zelda 3:27 hes angerd so bad power surges through him 3:32 hes won and is dying on the floor with ganondorfs body insinerated, zelda runs over to him monsters appear they come loser 3:52 Zelda screeches his name 3:55 link limps up off the floor sword in hand 4:00 he jumps up and brawls all 5 monsters 4:10 sword and weapons clang as link jumps and flips taking out one enemy a time 4:14 he stands over them victoriously 4:30 Zelda smiles and blushes 4:40 roll credits 5:03 the title comes up ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WOW i should be a producer if i do say so myself
You bet your ass this orchestra is happy to play this. Easy notes, easy dynamics, and high paycheck. They want to be seen just like anyone else, so if they can hold a sold out concert and it be seen by millions, then so be it. They did a FANTASTIC JOB. Congrats guys - totally made this piece.
@@neutralnarration1463 There's no money in music. If you pursue this, this is your career generally. A lot of these guys want to play their own shit, but the moeny just isn't there. It's not subhuman, but sometimes you gotta show up to work and do things you don't want to do, to make money to you know, do the fucking living thing.
2:32 Link hears a rumbling as the entire floor begins to shake, just then a massive Dragon bursts through the wall and stone crumbles and falls to the ground around Link. Links eyes are wild with fear as the Dragon roars, it hurts his ears. The dragon breaths fire around the room, every crack every crevasse is filled with flame as link stands behind his shield, the flames licking all around him, he feels the intense heat.
Koji man...being able to construct the base for what has truly become THEE magnum opus of all electronic gaming history and doing it with the fraction of a single bit he had open to write it on....I dont think people understand in 100 years his bust will grace the same gallery next to Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Bach, Chopin, Handel, Joplin, Souza, Basie and Gershwin!
I agree...but it wouldn't of suited any of the Divine Beasts in my opinion, but I still wish it was used in some other way. Maybe if there was some kind of other optional dungeon somewhere in Hyrule.
