Seeing Zelda sealed away and Fi's farewell were the moments I realized how emotional/beautiful games could be (not just graphically, though I love the watercolour motif)

BOTW was definitely very melancholy, especially for Link as he had lost the life he knew, his family, and all of his friends...except his princess. Not sure if you've played the Japanese version or not, but in it, the game's adventure log is actually Link's personal journal so all of the texts in it are written as Link in 1st person. I don't know why Nintendo of America changed it but it really stripped Link of much character and personality. If you have the US version, what you can do is when you play through, change all the "you"s in the adventure log to "i" and it will be close to what the Japanese version is. it gives Link his personality back.

Well everyone he knew is dead so there isn't much of a way to interact with them other than zelda. They're making a sequel, which there's some pretty strong theories saying it'll be multiplayer with Zelda as the other playable.

Just today I got to the Zora's Domain in BotW and I was confused when half the Zora hated my guts for the loss of Mipha. Blame Calamity Ganon. But then I saw the memory and I teared up a bit. Rest in peace, Mipha.

@@jamesmullan2013 I sure was! I was playing Breath of the Wild and remembered there was one game in the series I'd missed because I just generally didn't really get on board the Wii/WiiU. I feel ashamed to have not given this game a chance. I hope it gets a Switch release. I'll play the hell out of it. The music is STUNNING and the characters are all so beautifully animated. It really is just a stunning piece of work.
