Yup, it really gave me the impression that Riju is like a mini Urbosa now. She has grown so much and has the same combination of power, confidence and grace as Urbosa; she just doesn't have the motherly energy Urbosa has, instead she has some more sisterly vibes. I can 100% imagine Urbosa looking down and doing the proud mom face like "look at my descendant, isn't she awesome? She's such as strong warrior and chief!"

I love how with each sage awakening we almost get a little glimpse into the spirit and values of each of Hyrule’s cultures. I wish we could get more of it in future games. Each sage awakening followed a clear pattern but the personality, voice and dialogue of each sage felt very distinct and true to the race.

Urbosa mentioned it herself to how the champions lives ended. She mentioned this was how things had to happen. Urbosa made the same decision the other champions did Zelda asked her personally if she would become the Gerudo Champion to which Urbosa accepted. Urbosa is very proud of Riju becoming the sage of lightning knowing becoming being a sage wasn't meant for her.

I know I'm wrong, but I like to believe BOTW and TOTK is an alternate timeline to the Zelda Timeline. BOTW takes place towards the end of this timeline ( the first Zelda game) while TOTK takes place in The Legend of Zelda: Adventure of Link while the Imprisoning War in the past takes place in place of Ocarina of Time. This means that Zora, Goron, and Gerudo sages are this "Timeline's" Ruto, Darunia, and Nabooru. Which is why they not only wear Divine Beast helms but why the Divine Beasts are named after them. "Proof," and I use the word lightly. Of this is we see a reference to Ruto. Being a Sage, Urbosa mentions Nabooru and Ganondorf being a Gerudo before the Demon King. But that's pure speculation on my end. Not only that, but it mirrors OOT. Just change Forest to Wind (Which was hinted at being initially on OOT) and switch the sages of Shadow/Lightning with Spirit for TOTK.

I love to think that too!! I think there’s a reason why they had the sages wear masks. Allow the player to fill in the blanks of their identity. Maybe that wasn’t intentional, but I’m running with it!

3:19 why is the Dialogue different here? When I played the game, it said, "Some time later, Another of the 6 sages, the sage of time, came to visit me, and she set the Gerudo on our destined path." But in this video it said, "The rest of use survived that historic battle. Not long after, a visitor came to me. And she set the Gerudo on our destined path."

I think I may have had this "visitor" line for my first temple, it may switch to "the sage of time" once we advance a bit more through the main story. In this video link has no other sage ring on his fingers, so it's his first sage dialogue. That could be the reason !

Yeah, the timeline in TOTK can be a real puzzle at times. Sometimes it doesn't quite connect with other Zelda games, leaving us scratching our heads. It's definitely a tricky one to figure out! 🧩🤔

@@tky546 actually it seems to contradict a good chunk of things by retconning in the rito centuries before they are created, and turning ancient hyleans into goat people, and saying that somehow ganondorf was simultaneously sealed under hyrule castle and doing all the stuff he did post imprisoning war.

@@devondonato4609Also, Gerudo are on average taller than Hylians of the same age. Kind of reminds me of a cutscene in Age of Calamity where you can see that Riju was taller than Mipha at only 12 years old, but that’s partly because Mipha’s such a tiny little sushi roll.

i literally got so bored during this long ass scene that i forgot to watch it and then i realised i kind of wanted to hear the lore so i came here to watch in 2x speed :)
