I interned with a local police department in my area right after Michael Brown was killed. I was doing it for college credit for my criminal justice degree. Anyway, one night the officer and I went to QuikTrip because they gave us free sodas. At the soda station, there were four black teenagers. Three of the four greeted the officer, but one did not. The officer I was with took offense to that. When we got back in the car, he waited for the teenagers to leave and followed them. Block after block after block he drove behind them waiting for something to pull them over for. He finally flipped the lights and siren on and pulled them over for not stopping completely at a stop sign. He asked them if they had weapons or drugs in the car. They said "no." Instead of asking if he could search the vehicle, the officer called the K-9 unit. BTW, the dog they had pissed and shit all over the backseat of the K-9 unit vehicle. It's like they tried to make him as angry as possible before searches - and he was pretty pissed. The K-9 unit arrives and the officer lets this angry dog into the teenagers' car and scared the shit out of them. No drugs. No weapons. The officer felt better because he scared the teenagers even though his search didn't result in what he wanted. Later, at the station, one other officer said he wanted a "Michael Brown vacation" and other officers laughed. This means he wants to shoot a black person and get paid leave while they investigate it and eventually find him not guilty. I didn't want to be a cop anyway and was only there for the ride alongs because I had to, but I chose not to go into criminal justice after all that. It was fucking ugly.

Being half African-American myself, I'm really thankful for Vaush and Destiny. I don't want far-right radicals arguing that separationism is the path we should go down; I am an American and want to live amongst other Americans for my entire life (regardless of what race a person is). I don't want to be forced to live in a segregated community with segregated officials of my race, and people like Striker will do everything in their power to accomplish this segregation. It personally disgusts me.

Striker had more black friends than anyone in this debate.

The systemic racism argument for conservatives requires you to cherry pick specific data points and only partially cite studies, whereas the liberal argument does not have to look very hard to notice a bias.
