Highlights of the greatest pressure fighter of all time. Homicide Hank!
For questions or requests Email at: hanzagod@mail.com
Henry Armstrong - Was an American professional boxer and a world boxing champion. Armstrong was one of the few fighters to win in three or more different divisions: featherweight, lightweight and welterweight. He defended his welterweight title a total of nineteen times. In 2007, The Ring ranked Armstrong as the second-greatest fighter of the last 80 years. Bert Sugar also ranked Armstrong as the second-greatest fighter of all time.

Held the featherweight, lightweight, and welterweight titles simultaneously... and fought at middleweight. Quite possibly the greatest fighter of all time!
@shadowsnake8989
@shadowsnake8989 7 лет назад
And that was when there were only eight division with one belt a piece. He was the best in almost half the divisions. Plus he would have had the middleweight belt as well if not for a draw with the champ. I don't think there will ever be a fighter that could pull that off again.

Yeah I was a little disappointed with that. I thought he would be more dynamic, but his rigid style of wearing down opponents is not much different than Joe Frazier. That style would be vulnerable to an opponent that fights like the powerful George Foreman who chopped Frazier down in the early rounds or Muhammad Ali who won several wars of attrition with Joe.

Sorry but you’re wrong, it may look like he fight like Frazier but Frazier was never that busy with his punches, he bobbed and weaved and that gave him the illusion that he was doing more than he actually was ( I LOVE FRAZIER BTW) Armstrong on the other hand is relentless at all times

From watching this video, I didn't realize how slow and rigid he was. He uses that methodical head first crouching crab like style that Joe Frazier is famous for. I think Manny Pacquaio is a more dynamic pressure fighter than Henry Armstrong using angles and different styles with more head and foot movement. Because of this I actually think Pacquaio is the greatest pressure fighter of all time winning 8 championship titles in 8 different weight divisions.

I had a different impression. @hallvardvalde3882
@hallvardvalde3882 4 года назад
@@christopherknight3942 Armstrong was pretty one sided in his tactics, for him there was only way to fight and that was moving forward. There was a lot of subtle technique in his work though, such as the way his lowered head position not only made him a harder target for straight punches at long range, it also allowed him to push his head into his opponents chest when up close to both smother punches and momentarily destroy their stance. Also, Armstrong was pretty dynamic in his own way. His modus operandi was moving forward, but he wasn't easy to hit most of the time due to his constant head movement and smothering up close. Talking about mythical matchups between atg's, I'd favor Armstrong against some but not all (Especially in the welterweight division, since he was such a small guy that I'd pick a lot of other boxers to beat him due to size alone)

Anyone else see a lot of Henry Armstrong in Aaron Pryor? Also, IDK who that white guy was that took some tremendous shots from Armstrong without going down, but he was one tough SOB!! Even landed some great shots of his own!!

Dont know what clip you are talking about, but it might be Barney Ross, whom Henry won the welterweight title. He was a tremendous fighter and it is said Armstrong carried him in their fight

@@ravinandank7809 you do realize SRR beat Armstrong. Armstrong style as relentless as it was is dangerous. Guard down coming forward he was at a disadvantage up against big punchers. Also which ATG boxers was Armstrong beating? SRR n Ali are clear as day top 2 all time. Could Henry beat ray leonard? Timmy hearns big big puncher at welterweight? hagler? Floyd? Pernell?. It’s not what you win it’s who did you beat.

@@surveying482 dude he held titles in 3 divisions at the time when only 5 divisions existed. U wouldn't get those titles by beating tomato cans. Of course he would beat tommy, Leonard, hagler. If they couldn't handle haglers pressure there's no way they could handle armstorngs pressure

Jesus man, this guy would suck to fight, punches are one thing, but the grind man, constantly getting pushed around and drilled on. So exhausting and agonizing just to watch.

I love watching Frazier fight. I think Joe is more effective with his crablike style. He just fought in an era where several all time greats, Ali and Foreman were dominating the heavyweight division.
