The Legendary Madaba Map: World's Oldest Map of the Holy Land 

most of my family have been married in that very church for the past 100 years, my grandparents house is directly behind the grave yard behind the church.

I have a fantasy that a first temple era mosaic might be found, showing the Temple sitting somewhere other than the currently assumed spot. Imagine an Arab person living in Silwan, finding a mosaic under his house, clearly showing the Temple sitting above the Gihon. Ive read most of the theories, and have seen many diagrams, but remain unconvinced about any of it. Not interested in any theological arguments. Just sharing a thought. Peace out.

IS there a real photographic representation of the image (high resolution) that a person can get ahold of? Not a replica (I have the high resolution replica and it is nowhere accurate tile by tile or colors)? Has anyone professionally photographed this site to piece together the entire map photographically at a straight down orientation? As a professional photographer and archeology nerd I would love to know this. And if it has not been done, why? And could I do it?
