The Lego Batman film is absolutely incredible; especially for people who know Batman and that world of characters. It is the same Batman as the one in this movie and it takes place after this film and also has Will Arnett as Batman
its honestly in my top three batman movies, soooo good. i think we need a lego superman and green lantern movie. starring channing tatum and jonah hill
The line where Morgan Freeman says "you're gonna have to write all that down cuz I'm not gonna remember it." isn't in the script. It's Freeman talking to the writers while he was recording his session and they thought it was hilarious.
The Lego Movie still remains one of my favourite animated movies, not just because I grew up with Lego throughout my childhood and teen years, but also because it was more than just a commercial film, it was a heartfelt, well written and passionate celebration of the power of imagination and creativity that made the childhoods of countless people, including myself.
Lego Batman Movie is unironically my favorite Batman movie. I feel it actually gets closer to the core of the character of both Batman AND JOKER than pretty much any other adaptation. Plus the entire cast is phenomenal. They actually got Billy Dee Williams to voice Lego Two-Face, finally giving us a taste of what Joel Schumacher sadly denied us when he recast Tommy Lee Jones as the character in Batman Forever.
while its true that besides The Batman, the live action movies entirely miss the characters of Batman, the Lego Batman:tm: has barely anything close to them besides a parody of the general conception of them they have nothing to do against the animated movies or the Arkham portrayals
@@NickCTorresBatman being a deplorable excuse for a human is exactly on-brand. At least he didn't cut someone's neck in that film. Or right hook someone and call it communication. Imagine how bad it would be if he did that to people ostensibly important to him, like his kids.
Meg, have you ever thought about reacting to the Kung Fu Panda trilogy? The fourth film will be released in 2024, and who knows, maybe you could watch this franchise, which I'm sure you'll like a lot for its characters, the themes and messages it conveys, the beautiful animation and the many laughs!
Yes, LEGO may be more expensive but they are a quality product and they can literally be an investment in the future. I expect to build with my grandkids with the same LEGOs I played with as kid.
With all the details in this movie, the creators really showed their love of Lego when they made this movie. I mean, even though it is all made in CG, you can spot pieces with finger prints on them. My personal favourite detail is Bennys helmet. Anyone who played with those old space helmets has at least one with that kind of damage. The cast is so filled with big names, and you can tell they had fun with this movie. I especially loved Liam Neesons good/bad cop as it took him outside the typecast he has had recently.
Having always been a Lego fan, I was skeptical... This movie is absolutely brilliant. A top level scathing subversive critique of contemporary 'western' culture, covered up in a funny toy-coated wrapper. Genius. Watch it once a year easily.
Bumi's adorable sleeping self was a very important part of this reaction 🧡🧡 I love how Business keeps referring to the entire world as "my stuff." Fits his character and foreshadows the son-father thing, great writing!
Regarding the comments on capitalism, The Lego Group is based in Denmark. Denmark is well known for strong social programs and benefits, despite private ownership of companies. If anything, I'm more surprised Warner Brothers was the publisher.
How fitting that you’re watching this while you’re exploring the Batman animated universe, because Lego Batman, voiced by the impeccable Will Arnett, is actually one of the best depictions of Batman. He’s so over the top and ridiculous that he captures the essence of Batman from both angles, the campy and the serious all rolled into one. And how great is the entire cast overall? Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Morgan Freeman, Elizabeth Banks, Liam Nissan, Charlie Day, Alison Brie… I could gush over the talent all day 😂❤️
100%. Everyone debates Pattinson vs Affleck vs Bale vs Keaton vs West and forgets that Will Arnett gave one of the most surprisingly faithful versions of Batman, masked under a very carefully crafted layer of silliness.
I love this film so much! - I AM Benny, I was obsessed with space Lego growing up! Back in my childhood (many years ago!) there was just Town, Space & Castle - with Pirates appearing as I grew up, now there's Lego everything & it's SO expensive these days compared to back then & I had loads of the stuff.... ruthlessly got rid of it all when I 'grew up', married & moved out.... this film makes me wish I hadn't! Great reaction! 😀😀😀
This cast is stacked: Will Arnett - Batman Chris Pratt - Emmet Will Ferrell - President Business/The Man Upstairs Elizabeth Banks - Wyldstyle Morgan Freeman - Vitruvius Jonah Hill - Green Lantern Alison Brie - UniKitty Charlie Day - Benny Nick Offerman - Metalbeard Liam Neeson - Bad Cop/Good Cop/Pa Cop Channing Tatum - Superman Will Forte - Abraham Lincoln Dave Franco - Wally Cobie Smulders - Wonder Woman Keegan-Michael Key - Foreman Jim Anthony Daniels - C-3PO Billy Dee Williams - Lando Calrissian Jadon Sand - Finn Doug Nicholas - Surfer Dave Graham Miller - Duplo Keith Ferguson - Han Solo Chris Romano - Joe and Melissa Sturm - Ma Cop
This and Lego Batman is top tier Lego movies. Crazy this released in 2014, still recall watching this as a 14 year old. Oh 100% the Lego games are my childhood. Lego Batman 1 and 2 were amazing and heavily used the visual design of the Tim Burton Batman films even using the Danny Elfman soundtrack as well, pulling from the Animated Series as well. So a whole generation grew up where to them Elfman's Batman music is connected more to the Lego Batman games than the movie.
Lego movie is the best 2 hour toy commercial I have ever watched. And really I mean that in the best possible way. It is super entertaining and I want to play with legos whenever I'm done watching it.
This IS an awesome movie. Your reaction IS awesome too. And you are so lucky to have had LEGOs. They didn't have those when I was growing up. Anyway yes this movie works on multiple levels. Thanks. Actually they might have had LEGOs in the 60s, but I never had any. I got socks. (watch A CHRISMAS STORY movie. No, never got the wished for gift. But had shelter and food so had more than some people.) Okay, therapy session over.
I’m kinda ashamed to admit, but I CRIED at this movie, especially the end. I grew up playing LEGOs and I still build and play with today (stuck following the instructions, kill me) and this… spoke to me. That it’s OK to still have those memories and embrace them. You can get older and the things you love and grew up on don’t have to go away or be devalued and you can still be you and be happy. And you should be really careful saying you like LEGOs and want to play with them. Your PO Box may explode.
Green Lantern was really being dissed by the other superheros because his one and only movie was such a colossal bomb. But, now that Wonder Woman 1984 also went over like a lead balloon... will she have to team up with Green boy in the next LEGO movie (assuming there is one)?
The first ever like type of laugh I have ever seen about "for I see everything!" *2 seconds later* "AUGH, my eyes!" Glad someone shares the same little laugh as me
I loved this one and the 2nd one. I got both games to. I grew up with Legos when i was a kid, and it's so amazing we got 2 Lego Movies. I hope we get a third one, to complete a trilogy some day.
the movie is just genuis its a 3d animated movie so not stop motion but they wanted to animate everything like it would be stop motion, so the figures could only move like the actual ones and not bend arms or stretch in general, everything is made out of bricks which is insane it combines stop motion with animation and draws a lot of inspiration from the actual old stop motion lego videos from back in the 80s
This movie actually rules. Phil Lord and Chris Miller are the masters of making something WAY better than it has any right to be!!! If you haven't seen them yet, they directed the Spider-verse movies, which you should absolutely watch!! Also, I am a hardcore Lego nerd! I have a sizable Star Wars lego collection!!!
My favorite animated movie, makes me cry every single time. There's a sequel and a Lego Ninjago movie as well. Unfortunately, the water got nerfed, changed into regular cgi water :( I'm not 100% sure about the reason
Everything is awesome is a song known by many and it’s so catchy! ❤ I loved your reaction to this movie some people don’t like it because of Chris Pratt which I don’t really get but that’s fine I love it and that’s what matters! ❤ Edit: P.S you should watch the second movie ❤
I will NEVER forgive the Academy for snubbing this at the Oscars, that year. Like, it wasn’t even a contest, we all knew this was the best animated movie of 2014.
this reaction was super fun!!!! now that you've watched this, you NEED to watch the lego batman movie it's legitimately one of my favourite batman movies
Chris Pratt had a great 2014. This movie and Guardians of the Galaxy came out, so he was in 2 of the most popular and successful movies that year. Next year he got Jurassic World, it had issues but was nonetheless a big hit again.
This movie was one of the few pieces of media that used “snowflake” correctly and according to its original definition. Tons of people could stand to learn from it.
The Lego Batman movie is definitely my favorite of the Lego movies. Also, Batman was almost not in the Lego movie. Metalbeard was supposed to be wildstyle’s boyfriend, but then someone on the team was like “Guys, we have the rights to Batman. We need to use that.” And I can’t imagine a Lego movie without Batman there.
Morgan Freeman's "write all that down" line was not in the script. It underwent frequent revisions during production and Freeman got frustrated as he kept losing track of which lines were his.
The Lego games are realy good also. They all are easy to access, and have a lot of humor, and loving satire and parody from their various franchises they depict, with alot of meta humor and stuff you only understand if you are well known with the franchise. Much like this movie. They are also Co-op (up to 4 player I think in later games, but two player is perfect). So it can be very fun to play with a partner or friend or ones children. And for gamers there are alot of hidden easter eggs and secrets and achievments to collect. ALOT. So there is replayability. Many stages is even required to play a second time to manage to do a "100% secrets found" round. Realy good casual action puzzle co-op games actually. Highly recomend. There are alot of Lego games now days. But my favorites are the Lego Star Wars games, the Lego Indiana Jones, and Lego Batman. Cheers.
There's 3 more Lego movies and many tv series, specials and shorts. The Star Wars Holiday special should be watched after episode 9 and fixes some of that movie's problems. The Ninjago movie has Jackie Chan in it
All the Lego pieces and minifigs are real. Indeed, the numbers you see when they're "masterbuilding" are the actual part numbers. The Lego Batman Movie is arguably the *best* Batman movie. Did you notice Vitruvius's staff is a half-eaten lollypop? With the exception of the stuff on the TVs where Emmett says "look at all these things people built" and the end titles, all these Legos are cgi. But they put a lot of effort into making them look - and act - like real Legos. There are scratches and fingerprints on them. Heck, Bennie's helmet is even cracked under the chin the same place it often did in real life.
Treating fact the hole film is cg, yes all of it and the numbers represent real lego pieces the movie is that detailed you can see finger prints on them
The Lego games are great too, some of them have the DC animated series actors reprising their roles. They also make it clear that the jerk Batman from this movie is from a different universe than the regular LEGO Batman (who acts more like the comics Batman).
The message of the movie is even funnier if you think about LEGO as the horrible, Evil and Greedy company they are they literary try to destroy small shop owners that sell rival products
Hi Meg I love your reaction to the lego movie I myself am a legal person I have so many legos I even have so many lego Batman's and I may myself in legal too I'm a legal masterbuilding I can make anyone lego Also I hope you react a lego movie 2 .
