Here is the full studio album Open Book by The Lemon Trees, released in 1993. This out-out-print and difficult to find gem is a delicious slice of early '90s psychedelic Britpop featuring some sumptuous ear worms. The audio was ripped from the original CD and inserted uncompressed into this Quicktime video using Adobe Premiere CC 2018.
The Lemon Trees were a 1990s UK pop/rock band consisting of Guy Chambers, twin brothers Paul Stacey and Jeremy Stacey, Alex Lewis and Paul Holman. The band formed in 1993 and recorded two albums, but the second was not released. They disbanded in 1995.

I had the pleasure of doing their live sound on several gigs back in the day, before this gem was released, great they have a new album just released: Burst the Bubble....

It was Guy Chambers who was previously a member of World Party who suggested Robbie Williams cover She's The One. Lucky he did, the royalties that were generated meant that Karl Wallinger could recover from his brain aneurysm with cash rolling in. You can hear a lot of Karl influence in this album.

I had this LP on constant rotation when it was released. Unfortunately it was nicked when we were burgled and never got around to replacing it. Cheers for this.

A lost classic by any stretch of the imagination. A band who really deserved far more recognition than they got, a reissue of this is surely due after all these years? And there's the unreleased second album that never saw the light of day as well. So much good music. I wore my vinyl copy out but still have it on CD, which I had to get on import from Japan...! Thanks for posting this.

Bought the single 20 years ago in a drug store in Germany. It wasnt labled, so I got it for free. Lucky day. Listened to it over years, then lost the disc. Checked youtube for the Song Let It Loose. Neverending waves of happiness. Lifes crazy sometimes.

I saw them support Jellyfish on their Spilt Milk tour in 1993. I loved them straight away and bought the album and all the singles on CD. I’ve just managed to get a copy of this on vinyl for £16, very happy!

Thanks so much for uploading this ☺️ I bought it on vinyl in 1993 after I saw The Lemon Trees supporting Suzanne Vega at Manchester Apollo, and absolutely loved their live performance. The album became one of my favourites of the 90s. Sadly, I lost my copy many years ago, but had the urge to listen to it this evening. After fruitless searching on iTunes and Spotify, then finding out it was out of print, I came to RU-vid, and you made my day! ❤️

Guy Chambers is the guy who wrote: "Rock DJ", "Feel", "Millennium", "Let Me Entertain You", "Angels", "Supreme", "No Regrets" and "Eternity" for Robbie Williams.

@@danoleary6910 yeah, but back in the real world let's not pretend it was Williams that knew how to put a song together

Was a little obsessed with this album and band when it came out. Got to see them live a few times. Met them in HMV too. This was a GREAT album! Have seen the members of the band pop up all over the place in other bands too.

Absolutely superb. I bought this in 93/94 and put it on repeat on the CD player. Retro, even at the time, but timeless. Love it.

Found this band by mistake when looking for the Lemon Heads albums in a record ship back in the early 90’s. Whenever I hear this album, I’m transported back to being 17 again.

God, this perfectly matched my feeling when I was 14/15. I used to have all the CDS, saw them live at the massive HMV MCR. Some pretty cool B sides actually. I'd love to hunt them down for nostalgia sakes. Thank you for uploading. They were actually an important foundation for what came next. They just seemed like session musicians rather the rawness that the charts required. You can see how R. Williams ran with this stuff. Thanks for taking me back to my CD walkman in my bedroom and on the 219 bus in MCR back in 92/93. Wow. Time ... Ha .. I was just going to post that and then I remembered I had ths and then I bought In Bloom by Nirvana. (Smells Like passed me by). They didnt stand a chance.

The very first CD I brought as I moved from Vinyl to tape and this was start of the CD collection (currently residing with an Ex... maybe I contact her and go and get it back!!) 'Child of mine still' one of my all time fav's.

I’ve been looking for this for such a long time. Now can you make it so that the second half of the album only plays when I flip a cassette, that would be the icing on the cake.

Thank you for this - I was just searching for them on Spotify, and nothing... (Except a new band who clearly haven't researched existing bands with the same name!) I saw them support Tim Finn in Wolverhampton in the early 90's. Fantastic Acoustic set. Played this album to death afterwards. I'd heard from Andy's Records, or possibly an EMI rep, that there was a big dispute with their label. Such a shame. Regardless, they are vastly underrated. I think some members were in World Party as well? Favourite songs - Love Is In Your Eyes, The Way I Feel, I Can't Face The World :-D

I saw them at Manchester Uni same tour late ‘93 to see Tim Finn. Amazing acoustic set and vocal harmonies from the Lemontrees. Criminal that they aren’t known by a wider audience though at least 3 of them have gone onto have successful careers in the business.
