Very cool lenses with character. I am Ukrainian and I am proud that they are made in Ukraine, our people are very talented. I dream about this set myself, but it is still too expensive for me. One day I will definitely buy. I now live in the USA and start everything from the beginning in video shooting in this country. Thanks for the wonderful review. Helios 44-2 my fav👌🏻
The build quality is very important. Have had poorly rehoused lenses that the wireless follow focus motors just destroy the focus mechanism and renders the lens useless.
what are you talking about? the Creator used P+S technic EVOLUTION 2x 75mm for 98% of the movie and atlas mercury 42mm for 2% (source - Oren Soffer). And the Batman used only the helios 58mm for the car chase with the penguin.
If you watch Matti Hapoja podcast with Oren Offer, he mentioned the Ironglass Lens a few times, they said it was easier to use because of the minimal focus distance being better than on the anamorphic lens. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Gxi4jfFD5uA.htmlsi=aSkpOK7cojCy5TZY
That is some really close focus. Didn't catch if those are manual focus only or if they also auto focus? The point of cine type lenses isn't always about being sharper but is often to give you are more smooth look and allow flaring to give that more movie look. The flaring is beautiful on these lenses.
I really was thinking about buying some cinema lenses (DZO). But after I‘ve seen the comparison of these cinema lenses compared to a normal Sony 1.8, I really don’t know what’s the point of them. Or was this Sony 1.8 a cinema lens as well?
Yes, cinema lenses have a huge benefit when working with a big crew, but for most projects a normal foto lens can do the job, the 35 mm 1.8 from sony was a photo lens
Cinema lenses are overrated. I own the RED Komodo & V-Raptor. I have the DZO Pictor set, a set of Canon Sumire Primes, Tokina 11-20 Cine Lens. Since RED added autofocus I honestly prefer shooting on RF glass. After grading the images and exporting there is no difference unless you put the images side by side and nitpick, and even then it’s subjective. Lighting and composition is what makes a good images paired with a good sensor. Don’t waste your money
it's from this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FU3IqSKRqvw.htmlsi=XMXypoVgW4cCzEE- it's a local cemetery from my town Cluj Napoca, Romania, the city where I live was ruled by Hungarian hundreds of years ago and it has a lot of Hungarian influence.
…ohh no this is desinformation… these lenses are not favourite masterprimes on big hollywood films… ohh my god that breathing… please do your homework on cinematography… it is a serious profession… have a nice day ☀️
