Here in the Philippines we call all leprechauns, gnomes, elf, goblins, brownie, pixies, imps, and trolls as duende or "nuno sa punso". A "nuno sa punso" is an elf that sits on top of an ant hill and believed to be their home. It is a dwarf like element with an evil power that causes mischief to the one who peed or accidentally destroyed the ant hill. It is similar to Rumpelstiltskin. While fairies and sprites are called ada, engkantada, or nimpa like the goddess of nature Maria Makiling or Maryang Makiling.
