Loving this! Awesome. I remember skipping school to see the Bay City Rollers on the Mike Douglas Show. Had I been born earlier, I would've probably skipped school to see the Lettermen. :-)

I won tickets to the Letterman Show years ago in Macon, Georgia calling in guessing lyrics to some song....Grand Opera House, and then the next week before the show won tickets guessing another song on same radio show to TK Tripp Restaurant...lol dinner and a great show...the DJ told me after that I could only call once a month!

Elevator music without the elevator. My square brother listened to them - I dug R&B and would sneak in to see Ike and Tina at E. St. Louis black clubs.

Yes, and it was apparently during my birthday week -- Nov 11-15 -- of 1968. Connie Stevens was on the 14th. I would give anything to have those shows!!
