As a child of the 80's I was hoping we could be done with these kinds of things but now sadly thanks to world events, we need them more than ever.

United States used to have a competitor to the sarmat They had the peacekeeper, but they phased it out it’s doubtful to come up with anything that compares with that Not the way things are going

can i ask a question to anyone who wants to answer why the us do not develop missiles on mobile ramps as in russia it would not increase survival and missiles the size of samarat 2 with 10 nuclear warheads would have more survival and destructive power?
@ViolentKisses87
@ViolentKisses87 2 года назад
Likely because it doesn't matter to the US. The United States is so far from potential enemies that there would be adequate time to respond to any Russian or Chinese threat. Meanwhile Russia has NATOon its doorstep.

Fuel consumption for rocket 🚀 would make it to heavy for mobile unit.

Its detrimental to US military planner to establish more silo and mobile launcher for potential first strike targets the remaining 450 minuteman lll is for strategic retaliatory strike 70% of offensive strategic weapons are installed in an SLBM Trident D5

We do but they are on submarines. We are far from other borders so medium range land based missiles are useless

The usaf did develop the mobile MX in the 1980s. They never deployed the MX because of funding problem.

I thought SLBM's made ICBM's obsolete? A sub can launch from anywhere in the ocean with a 5000 mile range, ICBM'S are launched from known locations making them easy to track.

There's always been nukes at the ready from land, air, and sea so it would be impossible to avoid a retaliation. That's the nuclear triad.
@Intrusive_Thought176
@Intrusive_Thought176 Год назад
No? Nuclear triad. Icbms have longer ranges and can be ready to launch at any moment. Like slbms.....

US ICBMs are many and located in middle of nowhere. Enemy have to use great part of his nuclear capacity to destroy them so less nukes left for cities

@flixri726
@flixri726 8 месяцев назад
@@nguyenhung-mm4jr but by far not all on SLBM and ICBM. The latest stated numbers I could find from 2022 are 1185 ICBM warheads and 800 SLBM warheads. Most of them, ICBM warheads are on mobile platforms, which are very vulnerable. If they aren't dispersed like right now their base can easily be saturated with 2 or 3 warheads, if they are dispersed the whole area would be so big it can't be defended against a multi axis MIRV attack. They are almost escalatory vulnerable because they would be lost in any attack. Also, to add to the SLBM warheads, some SSBN are always in repair and disarmed at that time, so around 600 are deployed at any time. Russia still boosts a lot of tactical nuclear weapons, which isn't surprising given their conventional shortcomings.

What could possibly go wrong? The latest Russian Sarmat has TWENTY FOUR warheads. The incoming Sentinel needs to outclass it completely to really be a true deterrent.
@bmstyle
@bmstyle 2 года назад
Whether they have 24 or 100...no body will win. Nuclear weapons once used will destroy everything period. Russia cannot stop all nuclear missiles launched at them and neither can the U.S. Simple as that.

Dude watch (binkovs) video on USA vs Russia nuclear war. We have them outgunned. We have more icbm missiles than Russia. Russia has more aircraft launched cruise missiles. Either way we could launch 1/5 of our missiles and completely destroy Russia

America already has medium range trident missiles that can carry up to fifteen nuclear warheads. Each Ohio class submarine can carry twenty four trident missiles as well as a hundred and fifty four nuclear capable tomahawk missiles, and at least 3 of these subs are already stalking north Russian coastlines. If Russia launches the Sarmat we’ll have hundreds of missiles to counter them and send straight into Moscow.
