All jokes aside, the fact that this sounds genuinely pretty nice is a great lesson in composition. Even limiting yourself to just one measure of melody repeating, there are so many ways to add variety and vibes to it without overwhelming the listener with bells and whistles.

I like how this slowly evolved into a full on song just using the”lick”. Really well done!
