The Life and Career of
Robbie Bachman is a Canadian musician best known as the drummer for the rock bands Bachman-Turner Overdrive (BTO) and Brave Belt. He has had a significant career as a drummer and has made notable contributions to the success of these bands.
Born on September 23, 1953, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Robbie Bachman is the younger brother of Randy Bachman, the founding member of The Guess Who and co-founder of BTO. Robbie's passion for music led him to take up the drums at a young age.
In the early 1970s, Robbie Bachman joined the band Brave Belt, which was formed by Randy Bachman along with his other brother Tim Bachman and Chad Allan. Brave Belt released two albums, "Brave Belt" (1971) and "Brave Belt II" (1972), before undergoing a lineup change.
After the departure of Brave Belt's original members, Robbie Bachman became a member of Bachman-Turner Overdrive (BTO) when the band formed in 1973. As BTO's drummer, he played a vital role in driving the band's rhythm section and providing a powerful backbone for their music. Robbie's energetic drumming style helped define BTO's sound, contributing to their success.
BTO achieved significant commercial success with hits such as "Takin' Care of Business," "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet," and "Roll on Down the Highway." Robbie Bachman's drumming skills were showcased on numerous BTO albums, including their self-titled debut album "Bachman-Turner Overdrive" (1973) and "Not Fragile" (1974), which became their most successful release.
Following BTO's breakup in 1979, Robbie Bachman continued to be involved in music, collaborating with various artists and pursuing personal projects. He released a solo album titled "Any Road" in 1992, which featured his songwriting and drumming abilities.
Over the years, Robbie Bachman has periodically reunited with BTO members for live performances and special events, celebrating the band's legacy. He remains highly regarded as a skilled and influential drummer, known for his dynamic playing style.

Dude was a tour de force on the drums. No nonsense and telling the story of the 1970-80s as it was to the average american. Damn shame they don't have more concert footage. I was too young to remember but I remember TCB was absolutely my least favorite song, all over played. I loved songs like Roll on down the Highway and Away from Home. Legit and a real loss. He was a handsome young dude. The broken nose, juxtapose his glasses gave him character and depth and the glasses were not in anyway an impairment to his high volume and accurate drum rolls. Dude was the quintessential foundation of BTO.
