Drive was my least favourite Cars song. Loved My Best Friend's Girl, You Might Think, It's All Mixed Up, Just what I Needed, Magic, Lets Go, Its All I can Do, etc etc
@@redrocket597 The best part is he's made it that far. No guarantees for you. Is that a bus running a stop sign? Is that an eighteen wheeler losing its brakes? Good luck 😂
I was 22 when I crossed the river to us from Mexico went to San Francisco in 84 ,I didn't know no English but as we all know the 80s music is profoundly famous for great bands ,the language barrier to me was no big deal when it comes to music, that's when I started to listen the cars,I remember I bough me a tape w the song drive ,maaannn that song still sounds like the first time when I was working on 4th and Bryant auto body had my stereo and Benjamin and company always working with me ,great times,so my buddy Benny I hope you are now performing in heaven along with Rick ,God bless you all
You can see now why It was very difficult for the Cars to ever Tour again! Benjamin Orr was the Paul McCartney of the Cars! His Voice was 50% of they're Hits!
That Photo of Ben wearing that Cleveland Browns jersey is tough to look at.. i think he died a month or 2 after that photo was taken. He was down to 125 pounds i believe. Pancreatic cancer is a horrific way to go. Benjamin R.I.P.
Always loved Ben's contributions to The Cars. What a voice and bass player. I remember hearing about his passing like it was yesterday. Far too young.❤
Her soul, her heart and her physique were so beautiful, and as sweet as her precious, soft voice. God bless your soul divine Ben! 🙏😇🙏🌹❤️🎼🎵🎶🎸🎙️💓💯💗💯🩷💯😍🤩😘😘😘🤗
When I moved to this country. STAY THE NIGHT. was a big hit I remember lisenig o. The radio all the time. Always will hold those beautiful memories in my heart God bless Benjamin for his music 🎶 and wonderful memories 💐peace in heaven 🙏
I loved his solo record. It was in the cassette playing of my car for a solid year and a half. That song “When you’re gone” was everything. Ben was a legend and should have received more acknowledgment. RIP Ben.
I just listened to Bye Bye Love extremely loud. I’ve done that fairly regularly since that song first crossed my path in ‘78, courtesy of an album station in Rockford, IL. That song, to me, represents everything that was right with the Cars. Wish it could’ve stayed that way. Thanks, Ben, for such a defining piece of music.
The Lace is one of my favorite albums, I play it at least a dozen times a month. I was only 8 yrs old when it was released, but definitely remember "Stay The Night." Something about the album calms my soul & feels as if it knew my life's story. It's my best friend on sleepless nights & many, many more. 💜 I adored Benjamin since I was 6, but truly love him for giving us this album. 💜
If you watch interviews of him, he seemed so humble and down to earth. The polar opposite of Ric Ocasek who was also insanely talented but always came off as being a bit too full of himself.
OMGOSH we were born on the same day.. virgin Mary's bday... Them polish boy's are beautiful...same state miles away... There are fantastic videos of him
I thought I was the only one who would know about his birthday! I find that so sweet and comforting that he had the same day as the Blessed Mother. Yes he was beautiful
The epitome of good people dying young. He would often drive his pick up truck around his town of Weston, Massachusetts, Plowing, neighbors and friends driveways after snow storms.
Thank you for the video. Last name is pronounced oshe-hovski. Polish last name looks difficult but is not. Same as Ric Ocasek last name as well or could be any other slavic Easter European. Great songs they had. Love that time of rock n roll.
Out of the entire band .... I followed him the most , his Solo Album was constantly played in German restaurants in Germany , my girlfriend and her friends would go to this neighborhood restaurant eat ,then chill to " Stay the Night " it made the Army so much easier. My girl , our time together and good memories with Mr.Orr's The Lace Album on that restaurants Jukebox ..... Excellent Memories. Rest in Heaven Benjamin Orr , You made alot of young couples happy. ❤️🙏🏾
Amazing musician & vocals! Thank you for posting a remembrance for Benjamin Orr. Very much appreciated. Soooo many good memories intwined in his music. x
I had the hots for him when I was a young girl. I loved watching him sing. I grew up, life went on, forgot all about Benjamin Orr until about 3 years ago or so when I found out he died. I was pretty sad. What a sad ending for him and he was so young.
I remember when he passed 😔, listening to the cars was a big part of my life and I think that shake it up was my favorite..gone way too soon.. RIP 🙏 MY FRIEND...
Watched this video and it made my hair stand on end. I’m one of the lucky few who has survived pancreatic cancer, so I know what this poor guy went through. RIP Mr. Orr
