ABC News’ Linsey Davis speaks with Sirius XM Radio host Mike Muse about Young Dolph’s legacy, who was shot and killed in his hometown of Memphis at age 36.
Two young people from Duke lost their job a while back for listening to one of Dolphs songs while at work, Dolph heard about it, flew them both out to his concert and gave them both 20 thousand dollars to hold them over until they found another job, I don’t care if you ain’t a rap fan or not, you gotta be a fan of an artist of any genre who hit it big, but stayed humble to his roots and had a heart made of gold, fella never forgot where he come from Now that’s a real G there folks! God Bless em, just no sense in him going out like that
The saddest part is, Dolph always looked out for his people and helped out his hometown, and it was someone from there who killed him. And he was only in town to do his annual Turkey drive. Not only did his kids get robbed of their father, the city of Memphis got robbed of his generosity and blessings. RIP
He went against the grain of the music industry he invested in himself and his community. Owned all of his music rights and was one of the most independent artists there’s ever been. Memphis and the rap community lost a high card 👑 RIP Dolph
@@JDuece2009 true because the system created the environment in which we live, this is just a byproduct. But it’s time for us to wake up and attack the true enemy instead is killing each other.
Well, he boasted about that gangsta life and that's how he died. Yall be cool with these rappers when they brag about killing people, but when yall rapper get killed, all of a sudden everybody wants to cry. He should have stayed away from that gangsta crap and lived a family life. But, he wanted to be seen as hardcore. You live by the sword, you die by the sword. His death is tragic though.
"For love is as strong as death, jealous as cruel as the grave" (Solomon 8:6). The only way we are to ever conquer hate is by way of love. Didn't know the young man but I see a lot of love outpouring for him, RIP!
I didn't know this young man nor his music but everything I've read about him this evening make me wish I did know him. He seemed like a caring person who loved his home town and wanted to lift his community and people up. I am so sorry this happened to him. My condolences to his Family and Fanbase.
As a fan Thank You for the kind words. That was well said, Dolph was even scheduled to pass out Turkey's on Friday in his own community until this tragedy happened...smh. #RipDolph
lmfao dude was reckless and been beefing with yo gotti for almost a decade..this was a chess move checkmate..bruh been shot like 3-4 times already cuz of all the trash talking..he even made a song called “100 shots” and talked about smashin gotti’s BM 🤣🤦🏾♂️
@@PlatinumHustle which is why he wasn’t taking that beef serious. Killing a nigga over a bitch isn’t street thing it’s weird. That’s why he didn’t care about that beef he was a real nigga so he lived by the real codes.
RIP brother. A man living the dream, independent from the stronghold of the money controlling legal system of the entertainment industry. The system doesn’t want a man to have the freedom he had. But he is truly free now.
Yeah Dolph was a real and a great man. Married and had a family with the woman he was with before he got famous. Beautiful family. Beyond being a big fan of his music, I always respected how he carried himself and how he treated his family. I hate this for them man
This man had a beautiful young black family and built a legacy. Praying for comfort and peace for his loved ones. Unbelievably sad, this cycle has to stop!

@@PlatinumHustle and what they beef have to do with him being a good man. Go look up everything he was doing, I mean y’all Always think about the negative when someone die and not the positive things. And that’s what’s really wrong with this world to. We got to do better RIP YD
@@unknownvetteran His lyrics weren't that friendly though....profanity, threats, violence, etc. That's how beef starts and snowballs. This ain't the first time he was shot at...
You guys, this one hit hard. Adolph was my first cousin. Thank you guys so much for the love and continued prayers.i assure you his legacy will be long lived. SIP Dolph ❤️❤️❤️💯
It's in all communities. Rittenhouse is on trial for killing 2 white guys. No mention of white on white violence. Let the stereotypes and terminology go.
The jealousy was real for Dolph, they literally took this man's life for absolutely nothing. R.I.P. Dolph 🐬 I'm praying for your kids.... Heard there was also a blackout on Gotti and whoever he associates with, even grandma gotta watch out.
@@im100percentg yea for nothing dummy what was it for? I bet any money it was some broke bum nobody mfs who took out a million dollar mf who was helping his community
@@rosalynjelks4494 And they just took him out and they got all the juice that's how it works he's just a f****** man who ran his mouth one time too many
This one truly hurts. I’ve never felt so heartbroken about the death of someone I don’t know in real life. 💔 Rest In Peace & Heaven, Dolph. Sending his family and friends condolences & love. You will be greatly missed by so many. 🐬💙
We lost a good one. On his way to give Turkeys for Thanksgiving. He always helped his community. I am so heartbroken right now. He is one my favorite rappers. You will be missed Dolph. RIP my man 😢🙏🙏🙏💔💔
Great cover..no fluff. Bless your soul Adolph and may you be accepted into the Great abode by the Ancestors. For your good far exceeds any negative vibrations. Took my then 26 y/old son to his first ever concert and it was you and Key completely tore the house down in that small venue..loved it!! Thank you for all of the great memories/music you shared with the world.
This a tragic! Here we go again.. "Nothing will change in our Society as a People" unless "WE Change Period!" My Condolences to his wife and extended family, friends and Fans... Prayers sent. R.I.P.
This is what giving back to your community looks like? This is what being an independent artist looks like? This is what “staying real” gets you? This is what “buying back the block” looks like? It’s always your own hood, your people full of hate and jealousy that come to take your life away. RIP Young Dolph, and my condolences to his family and loved ones, and fans at this time.
“If I Sacrifice myself will I go to hell?!” Dolph absolutely made the sacrifice to keep coming back home to improve the lives of the people in Memphis! Rest easy brother, what dreams may come Elder King!
I was with Muse until he began to state that violent crime is a natural result of poverty. That’s a well-intentioned but condescending attitude. It’s also off-base. Taking someone’s life or otherwise causing harm takes a lack of morality having nothing to do with financial status. The vast majority of poor people are not inclined to kill as a way of improving their situations.
This wrecked my whole mood yesterday he was back home simply doing a good deed and they killed this man for nothing smh i get the absolute same feeling when nipsey was killed my heart and prayers go out to his family especially his kids😞🙏
@Dirty News the news of him dying messed up my whole day at work last week . I never knew but played his music daily. “Large amounts” is my motivational music on my work to every day . Like Nipsey he was a motivator to folks like myself that never met him . Terrible lost to world , not just his community or the black community, a lost to young people across the world
Really appreciate Mike Muse's thoughtful commentary on this tragedy. We can't become numb to the senseless murders that are all too common nowadays. Rest in Power to Young Dolph and condolences to his family, friends and fans. Praying for the city of Memphis too, that violence won't erupt too bad.
Connected with this dude more than any other rapper. Dolph was real and made it on his own. Never took a payout and never changed up! My heart is broken, positive vibes for his family
This is sad, jealousy and hate is what did this! It’s like you can’t be a successful rapper or upcoming rapper without constantly watching your back, some people just don’t want to see you shine
He will forever be a huge inspiration for so many, I can't tell you how many people have said they listened to his music while down and it and made it to 6 figure paying careers
I'M NOT A BLACK MOTHER. BUT I CAN'T IMAGINE MANY OF BLACK MOTHERS ARE OFTEN WORRY AND MANY SLEEPLESS NIGHTS CAUSE OF THEIR YOUNG BLACK BOYS ARE RAPPERS OFTEN BEING TARGETED AND KILLED. THIS NONSENSE DARK CULTURE NEED TO BE CHANGE....ASAP 😱🥺🤬🖤🖤🖤✊✊
@@c.d.2338 wtf are you talking about? It’s solely entertainment. This man had a wife and kids which he did good by. Also, gave bck to the community and supporting them. Hell the man was going to buy two schools that was closing down. Gtfoh
Rest In Peace Young Dolph. You were such a motivational person and inspiration to others. God bless. You helped me get through my tough times.. You will be missed.
somebody knew he was going tobe out there somebody that called him from his phone probably asked him where he was at then this happened yo i hope they get whoever did that too him
Even if it’s just a huge coincidence but majority of Empire Distribution artists are dead and the fact no one calling it out baffles me. Guess long as it doesn’t happen to them They want us to believe it’s the streets but I think it’s something deeper and I think they’re hiding the truth right in front of us because it’s least expected
We gotta keep spreading the gospel we are in some of the most darkest times hence the new terms “DEMON TIME” this is spiritual warfare we’re fighting here.
