On the occasion of the Anniversary of The Society of Golden Keys Great Britain, Evan and Evans Tours has put together an amazing video. This short video has interviews with some of our well known Head Concierges and how their day looks like. They talk about their experiences on the job, the daily challenges, what inspires and motivates them.
A big thank you to Silvia Huggett and and to the entire Management of Evan and Evans for their support over the years as well as putting together this amazing video which show cases our profession!

I agree with the Concierges in this video. Being a Concierge is one of the most rewarding positions someone in hospitality can hope for. You are learning incessantly and becoming more resourceful everyday. It builds character and it educates you in unique ways. I've been a concierge for 10 yrs now and will always be a Concierge.

Hey Frank, here's a question. If I want to get myself known to Hotel/Private concierge, what's the best way to go about it. I'm not trying to sell or offer anything to them, but to add to their Rolodex of options.

@@needsmoreghosts I would suggest you find out who the Chef Concierge is, if not the Front Office Manager because if it is a service that you can provide a guess it will benefit you to meet with either of them and explain what you offer and the benefits. For example: if you own a transportation business and would like to be someone the hotel uses then they would expect you to be available whenever they need you. Provide them with details such as website, quotes, business card etc.. also, after your meeting stay in touch with the hotel so you can stay fresh in their mind. What kind of service do you provide? Finally, even though as you stated you're not offering anything and would like to be added to their rolodex then I would suggest meeting with the powers that be would be a great way to stand out. Hope this answers your question.

@@jumpshot1369 that's very good advice. Thank you. I'm a photographer, I've had a rapid increase in HNW clients wanting "tourist photos" in and around London. Currently work through an agency, but their scope and packages are limited. I provide a much more tailored service freelance, so wanted to make sure the right people know it's an option. Does offering a percentage comission usual help in these circumstances?

@@needsmoreghosts it certainly will. Our hotel for example has weddings and tons of wedding proposals. We have about 3 photographers in our rolodex for occasions such as these. Getting in with an upscale hotel will boost your business.

Research the upscale hotels in your area and find out with the concierge about their weddings n such...see what they say. Based on that then put together a portfolio and price list and present it to the manager or chef concierge

The concierges are the wonder workers of the hotel, appearances and hard work, they make the hotel work. Well done.

After they found the man for the older gentleman, the older gentleman had him killed. The clefs d’or are a lot cheaper than private investigator’s. I’m joking obviously btw. I’ve just stayed at the Savoy and they are worth their weight in gold.

Loool instead of hiring a detective and a hit man just ask the concierge to get it sorted
