She was one of Bollywood's most glamorous, blockbusting stars. But her own life was marked by communal riots, broken hearts and mental illness... This is her riveting story.
She had steady multiple relationships so she was called promiscuous n scandalous when at the time bollywood married heroes had multiple affairs n nobody called out at them
One thing that hasn't changed is that how the media deals with mental illness till today. If they had even a little amount of humanity while dealing with such complex issues so many people would have lived a healthy and beautiful life.
If you notice, her downfall began immediately after she got international recognition. I don't know why, I feel that she was slowly being killed and taken advantage of her disturbed mind that went through a lot of trauma during her childhood and youth. Just my gut feeling......
*Dark Secret* Amitabh Bachan and Mahesh Bhatt used Parveen Babi to reach peak in their respective careers when the work was done they throwed her in dustbin 😡
@@spade3798 Madhubala was more like Audrey Hepburn; Graceful. Marilyn was a little out there, she was bold and ahead of her time, and this is why I think the person in the initial comment compared her to Marilyn.
She is a self-made actress. While people were heating her scandals, no one tried to look back in her dark and lonely past. Why a confident woman tagged as rebellious and infit to society?
@prakhar srivastava Both ssr and babi were good ppl dont judge them based on what they did on their last days instead see the proper and right mentality they had from the beginning till the end
is it me, or do biographers start to identify with their subjects. Very well done Ms. Upadhyey for a thoughtful analysis of Miss Parveen's life. It looks like she suffered a tremendous trauma during the lynching of minorities that she lived through, the so called "communal violence." Like Anne frank, at 16 she had to be hidden (under a mattress) by the heroic school warden, and then she had to endure another form of communal violence through media attacks without the support of a Bollywood family. this was a lot for anyone.
From the way you misspelt udhadyay, and calling the bombings of bombay a minority lynching, its clear you are a napakistani. You guys had much rather shut your trap, and watch without commenting. There's no need to tell the world how idiotic you are.
No Heroine today can match upto her talent. Bollywood is not for ppl who have a mind of their own.Latest proof of that is what happened with Sushant. 🙁
Her acting and all of the roles she did were ahead of those times. She is my favorite actress. I wish she never met these evil men who didn't deserve her! What happened with her,her career and her end is still very heart breaking
She was right about Prince Charles look at how he treated his wife! Hindutvas like to cry about the Kohinoor Diamond on one side and lick the backsides of the UK Royal Family on the other hand.
@@shabnamrafique7730 Brits themselves don't like the royal family Imao. And yes Prince Charles was shit. Her story is almost really similar to lady diana's
@smeraldo As long as bollywood exists you can't trust them neither the people who write about them or push their narrative. Who knows what happened to her and what led to her years of isolation leading to her demise. It's easier to talk about mental illness of a dead person cuz it's impossible for him or her to defend the negative press or the false narrative. Just cuz a person wrote a book doesn't mean the person personally saw everything that revolved around the dead individual. Instead of calling me insensitive think with an open mind with multiple possibilities. You just can't trust these people.
It's so sad that, a beautiful, intelligent, caring and simple woman exploited by men, each of them wanted a piece of her. Not Parveen in her entirety. How much people exploited her throughout her life, used her, her stardom, her name, her money, her disease and her story even after her death. Rest in peace Parveen ma'am, the world doesn't deserve you.
Whenever I look back to "beautiful womens " like 1. Parveen babi 2. Meena kumari 3. Madhubala They were all abandoned by their own love. "Love is shit"😈😈😈😈😈😈 Hate it
Parveen babi , shushant singh rajput and divya bharti ham sharminda h kyuki tere kaatil abhi bhi zinda h 🥺😔 P.s . people telling me in reply section you missed the point ... Goddamn I'm just puting my point so respect... 🙏
@@sanket1767 well I don't think I know what happened & I don't believe rumours but yes I agree with you on the fact that we must avoid the negativity and respect their work. I think this will bring them more peace. 🙏
@@Herteddy I know she got the result of her karmas but insaan ki galti ki saza maut hi nhi hoti ... In SSR case , his only fault was that he believed Rhea and other people who actually didn't care about him but this doesn't mean he would have died this way at this young age
She was lovely and made her choices clear irrespective of the judgements she received. People comment cuz she was famous and they couldn't possibly handle a women with that kind of freedom and independence
Being a South indian, I really don't know about her before watching this video except her name and her profession evn I don't know that she was passed away... most of the ppl are successful only in professional life but not in personal...I felt the most saddest part is no one was around at the time of her death and after 3 days it was known that she was passed away...🥺RIP Parveen babi ji😊
Maam its not in our hands we dont choose life life choose us we just accept and why u believing what media maybe she lived a beautiful life with family and friends ♥️
I've always felt very intrigued about her. This video randomly popped on my suggestions today and I couldn't help but watch it. She was extremely beautiful, graceful and had an unmatched screen presence. Totally a fan for life! Her end was so sad
Thank you for this. At this time when we r becoming more and more aware of wrong and right. It's good that we talk about unnoticed mistakes of our past and learn from it. RIP Parveen.
She was one of the most beautiful, modern, stunning & classy heroine of the 70s & early 80s. Schizophrenia is tough on a person that too an actress who is constantly in the public eye. People cannot be blamed as the person hallucinates & lives in a different world at times. A good support structure could have helped manage her life. But poor lady had no one. It is tough for the spouse or partner to understand & handle the person. So it is unfair to blame anyone. She was deeply spiritual & that must have kept her sane and comforted. Feel for her as she was an epitome of grace & beauty.
Another example where an actress was having ‘multiple affairs’ and the media picturing her in a bad light but for the male actors ‘oh they are players, who wouldnt want them’. Its the mindset we are encouraged to thing that way! She seemed beautiful and a balanced person
Very beautiful person and well read and articulate person. I still remember the song in one of Parveen Jis comebacks where the actor was so confident and looked perfect in the simplest sari. I really respect Parveen Ji and kudos that the lady lived a beautiful life according to her own terms and not as a sad servant like how many other actors lived and even live now. Parveen Ji isn't fake and will always be the firebrand that no one can become.
No person who's passed should be remembered for scandals. You could take a page or two of mental health from her life, and other things too, but sensalization of the dead is just cheap trick. Talk about it from a place of detachment, and not of u knowing all. She was probably a star, but first she was human and it's important u portray her life from a place of humbleness.
Somehow I find my life similar to Parveen ji..the only difference is I have the responsibility of two children all alone..but one thing I am quite sure about is the end would be same..my dead body would be found by people after days..I too have bipolar personality disorder and ocd..still Lord is giving me strength..Thank you for sharing this video!
I love how the journalist spoke about Praveen here, very respectful!! I still love her so much, have watched all her movies.. LoVe, respect and prayers for her.. 🧡💐🌼🌺🌻
She was an iconic actress in her time and she definitely left her footsteps in Bollywood industry through her work. It’s sad that she went through a lot and she didn’t have any guidance or mentor in her life and eventually she ended up with a sad conclusion!! But after her demise three main persons who came to her life paid respect & gave company in her funeral which was quite significant and rare as well. PB will be always a beacon in Indian cinema!!
Rest in Peace Parveen Babi❤ You'll be Remembered forever for your Iconic and Timeless beauty.👑 And your Impact on the Bollywood industry which can never be changed by anyone🤎 May your Soul rest in Heavenly Peace. 🤎💫🙏🏼Amen🙏🏼🤎💫
Same thing happened with Rekha. She had numerous relationships with men and was called a man eater and scandalous. Shame on how Bollywood treated women. I thank god she is still with us unlike poor Parveen.
If you are talking about Sushant's case, as a man can't you see that Sushant was abused and blackmailed by a street thug. His family had been building up a legal case way before his death, to rescue him in a dignified way.Whatever mental illness Sushant allegedly had was induced. If he was depressed, every therapist's first advice is to do what you love, Sushant was a mixed martial artist, dancer, reader and an actor.Even if Sushant had a mental illness at a career peak, he should have been encouraged to do them first and let him hang out with his long term friends and family. Not drugging him, video taping them and blackmailing and gaslighting.Shame on you! YOU WANT TO RANT ABOUT MENTAL ILLNESSES BUT YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT CAUSES IT.
I lived in the age and era when Zeenat Aman rocked and changed the Hindi film industry with her sheer magnetic appearance in Hindi movies. Parveen Babi came in later and was noticed in her appearances in Amar Akbar Antony and Deewaar both roles which Zeenat Aman had refused and made Parveen Babi a sensation....both were stylish and very westernised and truly sexy ladies...I for one could never say who was better ..both were iconically gorgeous...I loved Parveen Babi in Shaan before she disappeared....
She had illness which people didn't understand at the time. What's worse as we approach middle age is being alone and having no support system. This is what most people struggling in bollywood go through. Not many are lucky to live through the perks of Fame. Fame actually eats you out as you age. You lose your privacy, your life, your dignity. You then become a media public property where you get used up. Some fight back, while others give up by ending their life.
I only remember her as a beautiful Bollywood actress Not the affairs the married men the mental illness as many are saying Just a beautiful actress But a sad ending to her life with no one around 💔💔💔
Thank you Ms Upadhaya for narrating her story. Thanks for telling about her to us who never knew who she actually was. An innocent girl who believed the world very easily but left in hurt and pain always and no one actually knew what was going on with her.
That's why you should be a person with morals and not cheat on your wife who stood by you in every way and leave your little kids for temporary pleasure.
@@pratikshya570 yes and im q suprised nobody points this out.. it is ok for married guys to hv affairs but not d ladies.. as if those guys wr forced to do so at gun point.. right?
Parveen Babi was so attractive ! Diva in the truest sense! Was ahead of her time! And at at the wrong time and era in Bollywood! She belonged to 2000's
It is such a delight to see a video on Praveen Babi , who on screen and off screen as an actor , person she had completely mesmerized everyone with her talent and charm Sad they way she died..May her soul rest in peace
Most of the actress who had disturbed childhood tend to search for true love always. But they end up in love failure and affairs with married persons. She should have married non filmi back ground person. She seems to be innocent. These actors used her and made her mentally disturbed. She should have been little smart
Dear Parveen Babi , you are a style icon, a very good actress, you are beautiful. And strong. Your only issue was you trusted wrong ppl. That's all. You are evergreen and will always live in every one's heart.
Amitabh and Parveen made a very successful pair but because of her personal problems she kept taking breaks from her career. She fell madly in love with Kabir Bedi, who moved to the west and played hero in a popular Italian movie called "Sandokan". Parveen also appeared in the cover of Times magazine. So she also went with Kabir and decided to try her luck in Hollywood. But things didn't work out between the couple and she returned to Mumbae heart-broken. In the meanwhile Amitabh started working with other heroines like Rekha, Raakhee and Zeenath Amaan. He made many successful movies with them. When Parveen returned, Amitabh's directors paired her opposite Shashi Kapoor instead of Amitabh, who had Rekha or Rakhee playing his heroines. Being a very professional actor, Amitabh could not afford to wait for Parveen to get over her problems and resume shooting.
Mentally disabled people should be loved and cared for. It's not their choice to be sick. The worst people are those sane but jealous people plotting for someone else's downfall
I hope a percentage of this autobiography goes to charity on her name. What she did how she lived is now between her and God. Dont judge her. She went through alot.
I concur with perananagula and purvi in their statement.... On a positive note and words of mostly obliged towards these two great celebrities,Praveen Babi and Zeenat Amaan, most viewers audiences were thrilled and entertained by their craft, energy and overall grace and eleglance. The entertainment world morally is about enjoying what you see on stage where most are attracted towards the pleasant performances and its nuances.. How you measure the performances success and its goodness is its contagious memoriers that lingers in the minds of fans..... Thats the status of Praveen Babi and Zeenat Amaan...So long Praveen Babi..may your beautiful soul rest in peace...and shine on Zeenat Amaan...
That's the irony of the society we live in we pass judgements based on nothing. She was a public figure and had to pay the price for it. It's truly pitiful. We tend to scrutinize people on what we hear rathar than what we see.
1971 was not indo pak war, it was between Bangladesh and Pakistan. Yes India helped Bangladesh that time that's you can't say its indo pak war. Cz that war is very significant for the people of Bangladesh, we fought for our freedom
Schizophrenia is a Scary Mental illness that needed more Loving Kindness , Compassion + Wisdom to deal with ... 🙏 May Parveen Babi's Soul be Blessed to a Better World & Realm ... 🕯🌻🌿
Her story truly touches me. I think she missed love, caring husband and a family. One of the most sacred Bharat custom is the marriage as well having the family. This custom took care of any sort of minor mental problems when either the male or the female was going through. Giving birth to a child almost fixes both brains and cures 100% of mental health issues like ‘Paranoid_schizophrenia’. Unfortunately she missed the care.
What rubbish are you talking sir? Having a child doesnt cure any mental illness. Pregancy many times leads to post pregnancy psychosis and depression. Family is a beautiful thing, agreed. Family stands by you through all hardships, agreed. But mental illness isnt a fleeting thing. Its serious and needs to be dealt like that.
@@peacefulliving2906 I spoke the truth & reality. Having a child cures many of issues related to human body. I am not saying about birth engines. I am speaking about having normal family of 2 to 3 kids. Emotions generated during birth almost cures 100% of mental/brainy illnesses like bipolar etc. Meditation is one such technique that takes care of body/mental disorders. If u still think, it’s rubbish then be my guest.
@@gopals1055 With all due respect for you, if you really think that having kids cures mental illnesses, you really need to educate yourself sir. All the very best
@@peacefulliving2906 Seems u are misinterpreting my write ups. I am speaking about cases born with no mental disorders but end up acquiring during their life style or grown up process. Plz don’t generalize for all. Every living being is totally unique and get into the world with many unknowns.
Not all problems are visible to the eyes, some only reside in our mind, and with this much advancement in every phase of our life, the awareness towards this should also be increased and people should become educated about them too.
