Anthony Spero was once regarded as a "pillar of society" and "they should build a statue of him in Bensonhurst. Spero would rise to the top of the family and become a very capable earner running a lot of Bensonhurst for the Bonanno Crime Family. Ultimately for him, he was ruthless and his connection to a rag tag young group of associates that would be his undoing. He was a gangsters gangster by many and took his punishment in the end.

Yes I did...was pretty good besides the jabbing at Jimmy. I just feel it wasn't needed and was a bit off like the preying part...from my understanding he meant spero prayed on them as children grooming them not preying in them as adults like you made it out to be. I just think it's not needed and I've seen the personal jabs over and over from Jeff. And it's not necessary... Just my opinion. Not taking up for him for anything he's done in life that's between him and God. And I can't say that I blame him I feel he did what he did to save his life and get paybacks for his slain Buddy. By no means am I a rat and don't condone it I'm a stand up guy and at this moment am indicted by the feds so I can understand a bit of what he did and that's his choice personally I can't rat tho

I have to agree with the grooming part. I like the channel but you got that part wrong jeff. The grooming started when they were children. Giving them obscene money for small jobs. Giving them drugs at a young age, talking to them and taking them in. Obviously by the time they were in their late teens they actively wanted it. If you choose to start viewing it from there it’s a different and incomplete perspective.

I have seen a pattern when it comes to people in the life. It seems that many are popular with people outside of the life. The same goes for Tommy Lucchese and Al Capone. My guess is that they didn't have to watch their backs when it came with regular people. That life being Machiavellian and treacherous. A point that was brilliantly portrayed in The Sopranos when you saw how important Artie Bucco's friendship was to Tony Soprano. The one man in his life who genuinely enjoyed Tony's company and wasn't drawn to his side out of self interest and fear. Awesome work Jeff!!!

Escobar would put in running water for entire poor neighborhoods, but also able to take out a passenger plane to get one guy. Come on man you don't understand the grooming process? Especially when you are not rich and don't have the luck to have a father at full time in your life. All these guys died or had long prison sentences for no monetary value in return: other than the bosses "respect". Great video mate. I agree with the point about these guys knowing the rules and how that life works. It’s well known that you can’t put your hands on a made member and that your mates are usually the ones to take you out if you break the rules because they are the ones most able to get to you. It’s not exactly a secret. As for the grooming, that’s how it works. Young prospective members who show potential are taken and schooled in the life and are used to do work and once they prove themselves they become members and they themselves start using young associates to do their dirty work. These guys all aspire to become made members and know how it works and how to rise through the ranks so it’s not like they are being tricked or lied to. They made the choice to be used to achieve their ambitions.

This group of kids were groomed to become wise guys from 9 or 10 years old. Speero would have them go to the corner store to pick bread or what have you. After doing that a few times, he then had them take a note and drop it off. It just slowly escalates so everything seems “normal” plus they hold Spero with the greatest respect. So it took a while for some of them to see the life for what it really is.

I know society believes 18 year olds are adults in the criminal justice system--& I AGREE. But knowing neurology, the brain is not fully developed until about age 25.[That was why the Loeb-Leopold judge did NOT give them the death penalty in their Chicago 1924 murder case]
