Ichigo might not be the most popular anime hero, but he is one of the best anime characters ever.

Ichigo is one of my favourite shounen protagonists, because he doesn't aspire to become something huge. He doesn't want to become Hokage, be the Pirate King or become the strongest character in his universe or anything like that. His only goal is to teach those a lesson, that dare hurt his friends

I just always get the feeling that despite how often we're told how powerful Ichigo is, we never see it. We get a glimmer here and there, but never just him showing off just how powerful he really is.

At 1:06:44 Ichigo didn't fire a Getsuga that time, that was just a sword swing showing that he had gained so much power that his sword swings were as strong as his old Getsuga Tenshous

Can we all just appreciate how he said almost if not every word right without messing up a single one for almost 2 hours straight.

What makes Ichigo a legacy character is that he uses his epic hybrid power to do what's right and help others even if it means going against his nominal allies Soul Society and their rigid, corrupt system. And to think they very nearly turned him into a mutilated puppet to be harvested and used as a battery. Sure some may be put off by his savior role but hey, suffice to say you're safer with him and his human friends than with the others.

The only shonen character who's just fucking normal and realistic and I love it

Ichigo got MURDERED for about every arc in some of the early fights. That proves he actually had a struggle to begin with.

i never realized how quick the events of bleach have happened. All those filler episodes made it feel longer.

Ichigo is probably one of the most normal Shonen protagonists. I think that in itself makes him special, and makes him as good of a character as Naruto or Luffy or other Shonen protagonists. I know that people have always used his sorta "goaless" nature as being bad, but that's what made him more relatable and more likeable. And when you've finally seen all the plot, you realize that Ichigo wasn't just "randomly" powering up with little effort you begin to really understand his development as a character. Especially with how big of an internal struggle he had when he was getting stronger. Of course, not everyone reads the manga and not everyone sees lines that aren't told in clear pictures to them. If you really weren't paying attention and just watching Bleach for those big shonen fights, you wouldn't understand the great plot of Bleach.

Ichigo Kurosaki the only Shinigami, Quincy and hollow hybrid. Goes from ordinary human to one of the most badass Soul Reapers. Always fights for the right reasons and is willing to defends everyone even his own enemies.

Such a great anime/manga. Although Soul Society had alot to offer and had alot of well done characters, my only gripe I really wish Kubo did more with Ichigos friends. From when Orihime was kidnapped to when they saw ichigos battle with Azien. To when we entered the Full bringer arc. RIP that goes for chad and orihime too.

The only things about Bleach I’ve seen is the ending, the live action film, Ichigo in SSF2 and Bleach characters in anime fighting games like jump force. May have to watch this series as I’m now falling in love with it

We all have our inner demons, sometimes it gets us in trouble but it also helps us understand the importance of being human , because when we suppress those feelings that is when you become a true warrior. But....sometimes it's nice to just let loose, as a great man once said violence doesn't solve your problems because you just aren't using enough of it

With how quickly you got to, and finished explaining the Aizen arc it made him seem SO much less significant. As I remember the show Aizen was totally the most badass and hyped villain of any show ever. They really should have revealeed Aizen later, or just ended the show after him.

I am now officially in love with Bleach (the series not the cleaning liquid) and hope that we get to see it return with Ichigo’s son being the main character who is OP like hell with both his parents powers at his disposal! Wonder if that would work in the world of Bleach (not the liquid!) As I write this I realise that I’m probably roasting the series name and how it is also the name of cleaning liquid. But seriously would a power set like this work well or would it be so powerful that the writers would have to tone it down just so the series would work? Just kidding! Make it as OP as you want and place some character development and you should be fine. Wonder if this somehow creates a gigantic discussion about a sequel which chances are is already out and I just don’t know about it? Who knows with the Bleach franchise as it’s definitely one of the most famous and coolest alongside DBZ, Naruto and One Piece! And fulmetal alchemist (hope I spelt it right) and of course Pokémon. Who doesn’t love Digimon and Pokémon?
