Her majesty has so much grace & humility. A number of years ago my late father wrote to her. He didn't receive an immediate response (which he did not expect), so much to his surprise when she did reply she apologised for the late response which was due to the vast amount of correspondence she receives. Absolute class!
She seemed like a remarkable and dedicated woman with a warm heart. Although the Shah spent money lavishly, it seems, I can't help but think that Iran was much better off under them rather than the religious dictatorship they've had since, especially the women. I pray that they can overthrow that oppressive regime.
Dicevo ieri a mia moglie... Bohhh
Reza Shah was a Puppet for western countries....they protected him to exploit Iran ressources ....that's the truth ...yu won't like to have a sovereign who work for other countries interest .... His fervent opposant Mohamed Musaddiq did nationalized Iranian oil and Gaz and He put him in jail...He was a tyrant and a puppet that did no good to Iran.....
Iam not Persian I’m Greek But reading the story of the Pahlavi family and the tragic loss of Farrah’s two children the only thing I have to say is my sincere condolences It’s not about money and titles We are all human beings with emotions and feelings Life is unpredictable no one is safe or previliged We are here one day the next day we are gone I’m hoping that one day Democracy will return to Iran
I hope that Iran will one day be a democracy. The word democracy comes from Greek because, of course, Greece was the first country to have a democratic government. It only included men, women and slaves weren't a part of it, but it was the beginning of democracy, which is the most important thing. Iran has NEVER been a democracy, the Shah was a dictator who had absolute control over his country. The left wing media in the west didn't like him very much, and I remember seeing an article about him in the 1970's, in the satirical English magazine: 'Private Eye' in which they called him "The Shit of Persia," instead of The Shah of Persia, but, as I said in a previous comment, the Shah was far, far better for Persia/Iran than the religious fundamentalists who overthrew him. The Empress of Iran proved to be a strong and dedicated wife and mother, who's main purpose in life is to see her surviving son back to the Peacock palace.A very admirable wonan ,considering all the dramatic events in her life.God give her strength to keep her family united.👍❤
Farah Diba Pahlavi was definitely the Iranian rose my fascination of the Pahlavi dynasty grew when.i was in high school and I studied the history and great civilization of the Persian empire ,I was so fascinated with this family ,especially the late Mohammed Shah Pahlavi and his beautiful wife Farah Diba, the icon of fashion, her style ,her beauty and the strength and will power of this amazing woman ,you are definitely the rose of Iran Farah Diba Pahlavi good wishes South Africa ❤
Beautiful people. As a child i do remember some of this on the news. I never really paid much attention to any of it. Now I'm fascinated by the history.
Last Iranian woman allowed to admit she breathes and has a face. Thanks to Allah she escaped that horrible place when it fell into the dark ages again. She resembles Audrey Hepburn in many of these shots. Beautful
Oil crisis did not affect us as a low income family in 1970s because Iran is an oil producing country. We suffered after the Islamic revolution, though.
It's incredible to see how westernised Persia was under the Shah in those days. If only Persia had remained that way and the religious fundamentalists hadn't destroyed such a lovely country. When my mother was alive she was very close friends with a Persian lady who had worked for the Shah. She had to flee the country when the Ayatollah came to power and took Persia back in time by about a thousand years, because she was on the Ayatollah's death list. He murdered thousands of people simply because they had worked for the previous government under the Shah. I don't think many young people today realise how different countries like Iran and Afghanistan used to be before fundamentalism took hold. If you look at old photos from the 1950's and 60's of places like Tehran, Kabul you'll see most of the people wearing western clothes and you won't see any women wearing the full black hijab, or indeed any veil at all. I know the Shah wasn't perfect but he was far, far better than what was to come.
I can recommend the film The Queen and I, made by an Iranian-Swedish female filmmaker. Farah has had a very tragic life, with two of her children committing suicide, and her husband being disgraced
What a strong king he look like a humble man! Bless his heart for wanting change and freedom for all!!! He will always be the King 👑 what a good Man! ❤
Does the family still exist very curious. My mother told me about this family when I was very young and I became very intrigued. I liked the King very sad at the end. God bless the family always ❤😊
Despite not being in power in Iran anymore, this family still exists. If you are curious about them, I can create a video introducing them in the future.
How do you know she is last queen???????H.I.M. Farah Pahlavi is Queen Mother of Iran, The late beloved #ShahOfIran was not the last. Actually Monarchy has not ended for our country. We stand with H.I.M.#Rezashah2pahlavi3 is the legal successor of H.I.M.#MohamadRezaShahPahlavi. #Constitution we restore #kingdomwithpahlavi The majority of Iranians want H.I.M.#Rezashah2pahlavi3 legal king of Iran #constitution1906 to come back to Iran and lead the country. He is the best and the only #alternative for a free secular Iran and a more peaceful Middle East. we restore #kingdomwithpahlavi Viva #kingdomwithpahlavi
Iran has completely lost its identity with the loss of the Shah and His Empress. It was Persia, the Kingdom of Persia, of Cyrus, a land with a history, and national identity. I see many years later, a people with no roots, that is foundering under a Religious dictatorship that doesnt allow its people its past. The loss of tgd Shah, was a loss of Persia. In the Kingdom of Persia, there was a sense of great pride, a oneness, a cohesiveness. It is not cohesive anymore. The people are floundering around like fish out of water. Its just so sad.
The misguided Iranians had no idea how good they had it. The young people of Iran can thank their parents for the desaster they are living in now. They deserve what they got.
may king's soul rest in eternal peace ,truly a phenomenal man and founder of modern Iran ( along with his late father ) i pray that Empress Farah get the chance to visit Iran someday very very soon ...BTW the expensess for the 2500 yrs of kingdome was only 25 million as per the record and the number 300 million is a lie that revolutioneries told to people....
FYI: this dynasty is not even older than Disney! Like the famous mouse they came out of nowhere proclaiming themself monarch . When the British had enough of the first one they kick him out of his first made up throne . Then when the Americans needed more of the Iran oil they put his son ( Farah’s husband) on the throne back in the 60’s. In other words these guys have had much legitimacy and royal blood then any street vendor in Teheran !
I studied dentistry at Shah’s time and I didn’t pay a penny for that It was free education for everyone. Western countries did not want it. When you want education for your people you want better life for them. In comparison with now we see backwardness a lot. Who helped them Who helped Taleban in Afghanistan Please think and study Thanks
sad story! I remember the Shah divorced Soraya because she couldn't have children, he loved her very much. And the heir he wanted sooooo much, can't even visit his own country. Karma
Similar story of the present King of Thailand. Has 4 accomplished sons living in exile but the heir to the throne, son of his 3rd wife is autistic and may not be able to reign.
She must be so heartbroken at what has happened to her beautiful Iran, all the programs to educate and inspire women and then just frushed by the Ayatollah Khomeini. . She also lost her daughter one of the Princesses to an accidental overdose in 2001

The Emperor needed a male heir. His son and heir apparent,, I believe, has no sons. Therefore unless the law changes the dynasty will die with the current heir apparent. I'm not familiar with any male relatives chosen to succeed the current heir.
There are male heirs - Ali Patrick Pahlavi (son of Shah's only full brother Ali Reza) has three sons and at least one grandson). And there are male descendants of Shah's half-brothers.
