Saw Thin Lizzy at the Reading festival 1983. Truly amazing!! I was directly in front of Phil only a few rows back with a perfect view. I will never forget the way he and the band performed “The sun goes down” Just brilliant. Love you always

Lynott......rock star and poet. Thin Lizzy are still my favourite band and I have all their albums on vinyl. RIP Phil.

In 1982 I met Phil Lynott on a train in London. I was walking through the carriages looking for a seat and ahead of me I saw these very long legs in jeans blocking the aisle. I said excuse me and this fella put his book down, looked up at me and said sorry there darlin. Id like to say we then had a deep and meaningful conversation about Thin Lizzys music, but I was so dumbstruck and all I could say was thanks Phil, and off I went still looking for a seat....

I was lucky enough to see Thin Lizzy and Queen . It was in Miami, 1977. My first concert ever! After watching these 2 bands blow the doors off the place, every concert after seeing them was like...meh. Nothing and no other band came close to these guys!

Phil had more charisma in his pinky toe than I’ll ever have in my entire body.

36 was no age really. Shame he died so young. The world lost a great talent. RIP Phil.
