REMINDER: 2024-07-24 4:00AM I never thought I'd have to say this: THIS IS A FISHING CHANNEL... NOT A POLITICAL ECHO CHAMBER. There are plenty of places on RU-vid to get your fill of confirmation bias and engage in circle-jerks, so please take your politics to one of those venues. Nobody has been blocked, but I took out the partisan trash (from BOTH sides) in this comment section that became disruptive. I will continue to do just that. If you are triggered by facts, save us all time and do not post here if it isn't about the Manta and its availability. My comments on the ill-timed "boycott" of Tractor Supply were to emphasize how political discourse has obstructed my ability to get answers to very simple questions from private vendors, and for consumers that DO NOT CARE about your political opinion. No productivity comes from arguing about anyone's political ideology on a FISHING CHANNEL... and I'm tired of babysitting supposed grown adults, so please keep it on-topic. UPDATE: 2024-07-21 10:00PM The Tractor Supply link is live again, and this vid may have made a difference. Hopefully, rollout v2.0 goes a little smoother than the original rollout a few weeks ago. If you can get your hands on one, jump on it. Availability will likely be sparse (both TSC and Walmart) for the next few weeks. If you are interested in the Manta, persevere, folks! It might be tough to get your hands on one right now, but it's a great yak and you will not be disappointed. Please stay tuned to this space for updates!
My opinion and I dealing witn molds. Sometimes, the same kayak came from different molds. Or relabeled a different name. Years ago, Tractor Supply had a Lifetime " Stealth" but Walmart "Tamarack pro", practically the same boat. Dicks had a Tamarack Pro but I saw some molding defects like in was a different mold. I ordered the Tamarack Pro from a Ohio Walmart. Its funny they had 6 in stock, 4 of 6 was in the Pick up room. Including mine. $402 out the door.
@@lowlifeangler Ascend has never held my attention. They look okay, but there's nothing that really stands out about their designs. Picture this: This Manta with a "spot-lock" feature on the bow. Native Slayer Propel 10: $2,300 Manta, Newport 35lb motor, Autoboat GPS: $1,500 I'm likely going to make the mod for the bow motor before Fall.
@@BarryP I'm stuck on rooftop transport. My current Lifetime is 57lbs. The Native is 62lbs. Raccoon Creek Outdoors has on in stock. The Manta is interesting and Lifetime stepped up the plate. I be waiting on your videos.
Thanks, DD. I took it into swifter water yesterday and it performed like an absolute champ (before we had an unrelated issue and had to bail out of the trip).
I ordered mine from Walmart and got it in around a week shipped from UT to MI. There wasnt much of an issie but they used Pilot Air Services which has some pretty poor reviews. They delivered mine relatively seamlessly with very little to no damage, however the mine did NOT come with a paddle, just as a heads up to those looking.
That's interesting! While the paddle isn't mentioned on either website, I did see an "unboxing" of the walmart version from Your Outdoor Adventures where he cut the plastic wrap and there was indeed a paddle. It's an aluminum 240cm. You might want to go with something in the 250-260cm range anyway. 240 is a tad short for a 38" beam.
Mine came within about a week and a half! Ordered it on July 10th, It originally was set to be delivered by July 26th, but arrived to the airport on the 15th according to aftership, then said it was going to be delivered on the 18th with no word and no delivery. I rechecked and it said it was delayed until the 26th again. On the 19th, I got a courtesy call from the delivery company saying they will deliver it on the 22nd between noon and 4. I waited until around 3 then looked outside and they had dropped it off in my front yard, no signature or contact at all which is a bit concerning. Everything looked fine with the kayak however but it did not come with a paddle. Could have been a fluke but the Walmart website doesn't mention a paddle included like the TSC one does, so keep that in mind! It's a great kayak!
@@SalvadorFrieri That's great, buddy! Make sure you're ready to cut off all the wrap to inspect it before the delivery truck leaves. It will likely have a few scuffs, but that's pretty normal with freight companies. Pay particular attention to the wheel assemblies and make sure everything is working and attached.
Hey Barry, how does this kayak paddle? I’m thinking that with it being so wide, it must be difficult to paddle efficiently. That, or you need really long paddles. Mine are 250mm and I’m thinking they won’t be enough..l
If you didn't see the calm water vid, please do. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QQH3-96ar0k.html Ron C and I went out on some pretty swift stuff today. It handles like an absolute champ in current. Very little effort crossing current and staying in place in both upstream and downstream scenarios. You should be fine with a 250cm. I use a 260cm Kerco Angler Pro Carbon and there is absolutely NO contact with the hull. If you do the mod that I did here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yQLm0Z57cNU.html ... I can pretty much guarantee that your 250cm will be fine. It raises your seating profile, makes it easier to stand up and sit down, and changes the angle of attack on the paddling, eliminating any potential knuckle-busters.
I just don't get all the melee. When I don't like the practices of business, I just stop doing business with them... and that's it. I don't call and scream at lower-wage CSRs that have no control over things.
@@Wbharrington That makes zero sense. They HAD certain policies (that you were blissfully unaware of), that they rescinded. Only then did it become news. And NOW you're mad at them? Just out of curiosity, do you also take such a stance with Walmart, who also hires minorities and gay people? If you do, you're completely out of luck if you want this kayak.
They do. Links below. But bear in mind that they are not available for direct shipping, and are not intended to be. This yak is a Tractor Supply and Walmart (shipping only) exclusive. TSC Version: www.lifetime.com/lifetime-91302-angler-kayak Walmart Version: www.lifetime.com/lifetime-91319-manta-angler-kayak
@@BarryP true! I’m just confused on how they managed to send a yak that’s not even comparable in price, coming from lifetime home. I like lifetime, currently use a Yukon, this just left a bad taste in my mouth.
@@brandona9173 I fully understand. The kayak is absolutely brilliant. The rollout, not so much! You should definitely try again, it would definitely be worth your while if they can ship you the right yak.
I would remind everyone that Tractor Supply and Walmart are THE ONLY authorized dealers for the Manta Angler, and would strongly advise to not buy "new" from anyone else, in order to avoid warranty issues on an otherwise awesome 5 year warranty that only kicks in if you buy from an authorized dealer. Sorry, Ryan. Facts!
