Thanks Jennifer, I find myself a bit surprised by the number of people here who are unaware of the “lighthouse”, I think its quite poorly promoted and sits at the end of a relatively unattractive wharf, hopefully my video will give it some air as they say 😀.
Well what do you know- I totally missed that. Walked there but didn't go far enough to the end. I just checked my videos from the wharf in 2019. This is a very unique lighthouse structure, designed like a classic home of the 50's. I was quite surprised by the interior, unexpected and really cool lights. Nice how you filmed it at night with everything lit up. That is just wild. Enjoyed. 👍🏙🏙👌👌
Hi, glad you liked this one😀, it’s been rather long in the making. One of the interesting things that happen is the difficulty taking stills through the double glazing , you seem to get some kind of internal reflection which makes the neon lights pop off the walls- particularly noticeable in those nighttime shots towards the end. 😀

Thanks Tony , this one sat “in the can” for a long time with images from different times of day and view points spanning a couple of years .I left working in the city mid 2016 and this was built in 2017. After working in three different buildings two of them on the waterfront for 39 years it takes a lot to motivate me to go back to the city (aka Shitty) which by the way has just been one giant unattractive building site for close to ten years. The art gallery is about all that I would go there for now. Apparently the city are selling the 2500 space car park next to the downtown shops, the viaduct Basin, Maritime Museum, ferry building in the hope you’ll use the shite unreliable public transport, yeah thats going to work for all the businesses in the area. I remember our work cars all being parked there god knows what they are supposed to do .

@@tonymckeage1028 haha, having worked for the agency and its predecessors as well as the MoT and MoW the patterns between Labour and National Governments are entirely predictable. But much more noticeable since the greens got more influence. I’ll be very interested to see how Act influences the roading situation, god knows they need some new ideas all they seem to have in their road safety tool kit these days is humps and low speed limits. I noted that National said it was going to raise all the recently lowered limits then back-tracked and said “if it is safe to do so”, given that injury severity rises with increased speed it’s hard to say it’s ever “safe” to increase limits - that is without a shit load of safety improvements and even then if you do the improvements and don’t raise the limit , technically you get an even safer road. Personally I preferred the days when I could do Auckland to New Plymouth in four hours in my Mini 1100 at night 😀 and never see a Black and white .👍
