You are trying to say that gold is not bound by the inflation that printed money produces everytime more money is printed. So theoretically, the value of gold will always increase because inflation always increases. However, this assumes that the current supply of gold in the world is fixed and no more gold will ever be discovered. Since this is obviously not true and more gold is dug up everyday from mines and other sources, saying "pure gold will always go up" is simply not true. Gold is probably a "safe" investment, but its not guaranteed you will see a return on your investment.

Mutual funds, index funds, bonds, Crypto, and then a small piece in alternative assets like gold, coins, or other collectibles.
