R.I.P Samuel E. Wright. You will forever be remembered as Mufasa in the Lion King Broadway and Sebastian in the Little Mermaid. May your dynamic spirit live on.
This song has one of the best messages in it. No matter what happens to someone they will always live on inside of your heart. This song always got to me even as a child, it taught me to be strong and not to be weak during someone's passing because they will always be with me.
Still hard to believe this is Samuel E. Wright (Sebastain from The Little Mermaid) singing this awesome song, even though I've had this album for years.
I literally just noticed the importance of adding this song and the reprise... I've seen the show twice and it just hit me... And now I find it hard to breath with all the feels in my body...
Ingonyama nengw' enamabala Night And the spirit of life calling Mamela And a voice With the fear of a child asking Mamela Wait There's no mountain too great Hear these words and have faith Have faith They live in you They live in me They're watching over Everything we see In every creature In every star In your reflection They live in you They live in you They live in me They're watching over Everything we see In every creature In every star In your reflection They live in you...
A year ago, the most important person in my life has passed away. This song reminds me of her. I long to hear her soothing voice and touch her once more and to just say that I love her. I pray that she's watching over me. I see her in everything that surrounds me. In my reflection, I see her. May she rest in peace and fly high.
Victoria, I am truly sorry for your loss. This song has such new meaning. I too lost a very significant member of my family 2 years ago and it still feels like yesterday. I miss her voice, I miss our talks, I miss everything that's her. This song means so much more to me now. Until I see her again, love you Mom
Here to pay my respect to the late great Samuel E. Wright; who brought to life to Sebastian in The Little Mermaid and giving this incredible performance as Mufasa and this amazing song that fits so well now. He may be gone here, but he will always live in all of us. My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends in their time of grieving; May you Rest In Peace, Samuel E. Wright
Reminds so much of my mother telling me as a child that are lost loved ones are alive in our hearts. This song really speaks to me. Thumbs up if you feel the same way I do!
I saw the Lion King on Broadway today and absolutely loved it! My dad got me the tickets as a birthday present! Couldn't have asked for a better gift! :D
Marianne Ferris I really had to pee. It was almost time for the intermission, but I couldn't wait, especially if it turned out I had to wait in line. So I got up and went. This is the only time this has ever happened to me. The usher took me to the ladies room, waited, and took me back to my seat. After we waited for the baboons to leave the aisle. That was so cool, how they used the whole theater.
Marianne Ferris That's cool, glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, I agree that was cool how they used the whole aisle. I am not afraid to admit this but when the Circle of Life sequence was going on, I got a little teary eyed because it took back to the time in my childhood and seeing the Lion King in theaters. It was a such an awesome show. I wouldn't mind going to see this musical again someday. :)
to be honest...i can't tell you because i do not know. I just checked it looks like it is coming back this year but it is a bit farther away. Its 69 miles away from my house. I would love to go back and see it again someday. This time go with my mom. She took me twice to see the Lion King in theaters when I was 10 years old it seems only fitting that if I see it a second time around I should go with her.
Same here, but as the song says; “he lives in you” and he always will for all of us. We’ll miss you, Samuel E. Wright; May you Rest In Peace and look up down on us up there with the great kings of the past
Can you imagine if this had actually played out in the original movie, and James Earl Jones (or some equally rich baritone voice) was singing it? [shivers] That's not to detract from this version, it's beautiful. I just sometimes like to think about what the movie would have been like if it were more like the musical. I feel like it would've made the film a lot richer with the added character development, and perhaps better laid the groundwork for the sequel film.
Poppy Raima Keep in mind that the beautiful aspects of this musical was erupted from inspiration of the Lion King. Perhaps we can consider crediting Lion King for making the creative development and magical results a reality.
I was nala in our product ion. I miss the cast so much. My brother mufasa. This song made me cry. Especially the line in the junior version, "so whenever you feel alone, just know the great kings of the past are watching over you, and so am i"
@@calvinlam7272 Yeah, but the point is not the pretty song, it's the character development and use it would have to make the story so much better. They could have made the remake better than the original, but they didn't.
This song randomly came on during my shuffle on my iPhone. I've had cardinals fly in front of me all day. I know it's my family members who have passed saying "hello."
I love this song so much. It's very soothing some how. My dad died when I was very young and I do not remember him at all. But he is still in my heart. Also I just saw this musical last night and it was amazing! It was everything and more than I was hoping for.
This song is a great way for me to remember my paternal grandfather who died in 2005. He was so important to me and I'm still as devastated as I was having to go to his funeral.
Just saw this musical today. ABSOLUTELY FANTASTICAL AND MIND-BLOWING. I loved everything about it. Would gladly see it again. This would have to be my favourite song out of all of them. 🌟😗🦁☀️🌍🌄🌠🎶👑🎭💛❤
This is so fascinating to me..this sounds amazing in this production.I'm actually playing Mufasa in my school play.. it starts opening in February. I'm so excited. Wish me luck!~
I was in my school play for Lion King as well the final show was last month. :( I miss it. I actually auditioned for Nala, but I was placed in the ensemble. I'm glad the show went well, :)
This song and its reprise are my favorite songs from all of Lion King. Something comforting and uplifting told once by a parent and then by a family friend about that parent once that parent passes ABOUT them to their son at two different points in life. The same words but two vastly different meanings. I am mad about the remake for the usual reasons people dislike remakes, but I am truly disappointed in them for not including these songs. They are too special and important to not reintroduce to a new audience.
This has made me cry a couple of times because it makes me think about the nature and how we destroy it I can just imagine how it feels like listening to this on a morning in the pure African nature with the sun going up and seeing animals That's one of my biggest things on my bucket list (would literally be a moment where you forget anything around you)
Nah, he may be gone here but he lives in all of us who were touched by either his role as Sebastian in The Little Mermaid or here; he’s now up there with the great kings of the past and looking down on us to help guide us if we ever feel alone. My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends; May you Rest In Peace, Samuel E. Wright
Good Lord, do I hope the 2019 version includes both this and He Lives in You. This part of Simba's development is all that's missing from the 1994 original and including it would justify the new movie's existence all by itself.
Saw this in London last night. I can't get this song out my head. From what I'd seen, with the style of the masks etc, I didn't think I was going to enjoy this musical. I was seriously wrong. It's amazing.
I went to see this play on Broadway a couple years ago and I remember right after the show, I wanted to go home and listen to this song again. I still love it to this day.
I saw this show for the first time about a month ago in Birmingham, Alabama and it was Gerald Reyes singing it. This was my first Broadway show and it was AMAZING. I really hope to see it again hopefully with Gerlad in it again because he was so good!!
When I was about 7 or 8 years old, my grandmother took me to the live show in Wichita, and when this scene came I remember being annoyed and wanting to skip it because I knew Be Prepared, (which was my favorite song back then) was next, nowadays this is my favorite song and I truly wish I had fully appreciated it when I had the chance
