You guys know why I prefer this ending to the film’s ending? The guitar. I believe the guitar represents the raindrops that bring new life to Pride land. Sad but full of hope. Such a subtle but epic addition.
I have days like this, when I just miss helping to direct the show at my old middle school (I am in high school and I go back and help with their shows), and this was the final song which ended it. This is honestly my favourite piece of music in the show.
I have never seen this musical and I SO wish I could, but I absolutely love this soundtrack! Every song in it is amazing and so emotional and touching. This song here especially gives me chillbumps!
I'm honestly so blessed to be in this musical as Nala. I'm so excited for the shows and the music is just...so amazing and tear jerking. I struggle not to cry every time I listen to the soundtrack. I'm just so grateful and happy to be a part of the lion king family!
I saw this play twice, once when I was four and the other for my thirteenth birthday. It was the best play I've seen so far. And when I had gotten to this point of the play, I was in tears. The instrumental part is simply breathtaking.
Getting closer to graduating from high school. I play this song and my brain fills my head with memories of my high school years. It’s so sad but damn what a time it’s been.
when I saw The Lion King in London, I absolutely loved it. It was new years day (2019). Listening to it makes me so happy! I'd listen to this rather than anything else!
I have seen this show three times and When Simba begens to climb up Pride Rock that always makes me cry. I would love to be apart of this show even if its backsatge i would not care. I love this show
Whenever I hear king of pride rock I have tears that build up because I have to play older simba and put loss of family in my performance. Originally I didn’t experience loss of a family member but when we shut down everything during quarantine my pop died. After that we continued the performance and instantly I had my character figured out. But nonetheless I still have heavy emotional connection with this show
Paige Lord the masterpiece of 25 years ago this year. “King of Pride Rock/Circle of Life (Finale)” Music by Hans Zimmer & Elton John Lyrics by Lebo M & Tim Rice (C) 1994, 1997 The Walt Disney Company
I played the adult Simba in my highschool production (JR. Version) and everytime I hear the end of this I cry. It's emotional to watch it but when you play it my god I don't think there wasn't a show I didn't cry when I would walk up pride rock. I was also coming out as gay to my family at the time which didn't go as planned and playing a strong character who stands tall even after all the shit he's been through was super cathartic for me. Although Simba isn't a real character and is literally an animal lol he helped me get through one the worst times. 😭❤️
I cried so much watching this in birmingham last week, such amazing actors/singers/dancers. On the end beat, the stage goes black and everyone stood up! Fantastic!
on closing night we all gathered in the dressing rooms and listened to this just so we could cry on stage. this show is such a magical experience and i miss it so much
I know some people might hate me for suggesting this but I'd like to see a TV live show of The Lion King based on the stage musical. I even imagine a cast in my mind. Keith David as Mufasa Gary Oldman as Scar (Would have said Alan Rickman if not for his recent death.) Jim Broadbent as Zazu Angela Bassett as Sarabi Billy Crystal as Timon Kenan Thompson as Pumbaa Aretha Franklin as Rafiki Benito Martinez as Banzai Tichina Arnold as Shenzi Mark Hamill as Ed (Using his Joker laugh) Not sure who would play Young or Adult Simba and Nala.
I listened to the soundtrack for the new movie and they used the choir from 1:18 till 1:49 in it, as well as blending the score from the original with it.
