This music brings me nostalgic memories. One of my best childhood memories, Fridays after school, My mom would take us to the Rental Video Store and we would rent Newly Releases VHS and Super Nintendo Cartridges games. Playing on a Saturday at 0800... priceless. #90'skid

I love the fact they actually adapted the original songs by Hans Zimmer for this game, like This Land, To Die For, Under The Stars and King of Pride Rock. The soundtrack feels very true to the source material, whereas most licensed games have more original tracks that feel a bit more foreign to said source material.

Hans Zimmer even congratulated the team for retaining the feel of his compositions while working within strict limitations. Now THAT'S high praise. I'd be living off that compliment for the rest of my life if I was a composer and/or sound engineer.

There is something cheerful but still also sad about 'Under the stars'. Like the last time you see people you hold dear before you move away; A bittersweet goodbye, so to speak. Letting go of something important to you, but knowing it has to happen.

Surely everyone remembers the parts of the movie where Simba fights a Gorilla and then travels through literally Hell. The developers did a fantastic job portraying those iconic scenes in the game

The only Disney I watched the longest every single day . movie I watched for 2, maybe 3 months straight every single day, back in 1996 with my neighbor. He would always tell me (in Spanish)" let's go watch Simba" . In the afternoon , after finishing my homework , playing outside for a little bit then come sunset, we would go inside and watch "Simba." Sunset and watching the opening scene , the circle of life, I think about that and makes me choke up.

Since I finished watching a longplay of the SNES version of "The Lion King" 19 minutes ago, I figured that I might as well listen to its soundtrack. EDIT- 11:44 P.M.: *finishes soundtrack 43 minutes later* I was slightly caught off guard by the voice clips at the end! 😆

I like the Genesis OST by Matt Furniss more, but the Super Nintendo version is just as amazing. I really appreciate how they tried to make it sound as close to the film's OST as it possibly could.

Everyone always talk about how hard this game, but I can beat it on Difficult without much trouble. One of my favorite games in the SNES, and loved the original movie. The Continue themes is one of the coolest beats ever.

_Mostly_ agree, though the Genesis no doubt has the better version of To Die For. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BmrTPrBQtCw.html Quite amazing how bland and lethargic the SNES arrangement of that track sounds, and not just by comparison. The Genesis version sounds truly perilous. It's also got a really cool rendition of Can't Wait To Be King. Perhaps not as movie accurate seeing as it lacks the SNES' layers of sampled instruments and chants (as usual), but it's got all these playful, reverbed waveforms for the lead melody, custom tailored instead of flat notes that just unadventurously emulate the official sheet music. I prefer the beat and rhythm of the Genesis/Megadrive version although the SNES is superior in the technical sense. The first song ("Circle of Life") is awfully grainy on the Genesis at the beginning, but "Under the Stars", "This Land", sound better on the Genesis in the artsy, not technical sense...

It was rereleased along with Aladdin (1993) as 'Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King' and will be rereleased again this time as (probably) 'Disney Classic Games: Aladdin, The Lion King and The Jungle Book'.
