You know what I think? I think Julie Taymor should've directed the 2019 film and have all the songs from both the original animated film and the Broadway musical and be done like a musical! I would've loved Beyonce to have sung "Shadowland"! Also work on other problems like the CGI expressions and some of the casting. Then it would've been a just as a masterpiece like the 1994 film and the broadway show.
This is a moment I will never forget. Since I was a little girl, I have always wanted to see the lion king perform in the parade and now that vision has finally become a reality ❤️
What a strangely specific thing to wish for…just go see the Actual damn show where it’ll be of higher quality and where it’s originally supposed to be performed and viewed but no I wanna see it in the friggin ThAnKsGiViNg PaRaDe lmao okay 🗿
YOU KNOW WHAT, THIS YEAR WAS JUST ME AND MY MOM FOR THANKSGIVING, MAYBE NEXT YEAR IN 2023 WILL HAVE FAMILY MEMBERS MAYBE FROM OCONTO AND FROM IOWA MAYBE GUESS WILL HAVE TO SEE IN 2023
That song always gives me goosebump and brings tears to my eyes! I will never forget the amazement of seeing it on Broadway so, so many years ago!! Happy 25 years to The Lion King! And may you reign for 25 more!
The Lion King holds a real special place in my heart. It was the first ever Disney film I watched, which made me fall in love with Disney. It was also the very first musical I ever saw which made me fall in love with musicals and it happens to be the first ever musical I was in!
It’s my favorite Disney movie of all time too! I found out about the show when I was just scrolling through RU-vid on my grandmas computer (I think I was around 5 or 6 at the time so RU-vid was still very new to me back then) and the minute I saw the trailer, you could say I was obsessed. I had a few books of the show and once, I wrote to Julie Taymor when I was 8-9, and I got a signed Playbill of the cast in the mail back (it’s one of my prized possessions ❤️)
This Show is everything, for the people who haven't seen it, I hightly recomend it, even if you are not a musical theatre fan, this show is magnificent, the story telling the music, costumes and scenography are incredible you'll love it from beginning to end. 11 out of 10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The joy and majesty of this song ALWAYS moves me to tears and gives me goosebumps! This number gives vision to the sheer joy of being alive! Seeing all the performers in such innovative costumes...I don't even want to blink because I'll miss something! BEAUTIFULLY PERFORMED!! Lion King more than deserves this historic recognition!
This performance was absolutely beautiful. I’ve seen this twice already and I could see this 1000 more times if I could. This was my first Broadway show I ever saw.
So sad Jason Raize the original adult Simba is not there to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Lion King. Rest in peace 🕊️ Jason Raize. Always remembered, never forgotten.
This is the musical that inspired me to do theatre myself…to see it performed again truly does make me cry…well done to all of those phenomenal actors ❤
❤I saw this on Broadway and it was my 1st ever Show and I thought that it was incredible and So did my Friend Jennifer Noseworthy she Loved it and We had So much Fun in New York City and that was My Birthday Gift for when I turned 17yrs old . If I Could I would See it again with my Best Friend Bri but theses kinda shows cast lots of Money but are worth it. If You’ve never Been To a Broadway Musical before go see the Lion King you will Love it as Much as I did. God Bless❤
I was fine on the water works till I saw all the kids experiencing this magic for the first time 🥲 they're so excited and giddy! A whole new generation loving the same thing we all fell in love with (over) 25 years ago is just so wonderful
anyone else genuinely crying? I always wished I could see Lion King live. everything from the costumes to music to set is so beautiful! I love the movie but the play always seemed so beyond amazing. hence my crying whenever I see a clip like this lol
It was such an amazing performance. I will never forget this moment. It has been a dream of mine to see The Lion King perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade ever since I was a kid and that dream has finally come true.
This was the very first musical I saw and it got me hooked on Broadway and musical theater. I really wanted to see it in the parade and im glad it finally played. Although i moved onto other musicals, ill still come back to this one
When I saw this on TV while watching the parade, I was amazed by this. I love The Lion King, and I'm going to see the Broadway show of it in January! 🦁👑
I remember the Tony awards when TLK premered, watching the an entire Elephant costume walk down the isle with one performer in each *leg*, and being awestruck by costume after brilliant costume.
My children loved seeing this show in the west end too. They both said it remains one of the best live shows they have seen as they were 11 when they saw it and are adults now and have seen countless shows since.
Wow! I have not seen this musical, enchanting!!!! The Zebra, and the elephant are so creative. Thank you for televising this performance. Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas 2022
