@@christophercrump1807 But still I don't understand the negative reactions! This film is wonderful and I didn't think it would excite me so much. the chemistry among actors is incredible! Peace and love man!
@@matteo1995ify it may be because the viewers have not been able to draw that connection and then most of the qualms are because of Ariel not being Caucasian. I loved the movie as well and didn't feel like it took anything from the original version.
I’m not gonna lie I was disappointed they didn’t have the big chorus singing the finale. But as a daddy’s girl having the music crescendo as she leans down to hug and say “I love you father” you should have heard the sob that suddenly came from me in the theatre 😂
I would have really liked the chorus at the end, but I didn’t mind the ending; I watched it yesterday with my father, we used to watch the film when I was 6 years old. I am 18 now, so we just came to the end of the film, and I was sobbing but trying to hold it in, then I heard a sob next me. I turned around and said “Dad, are you crying?” And he told me “did you hear me? I love you” and I said “I love you too”, just before I started crying🥺
I cried when she started crying she thought her family never really cared about her only to see they truly do and they let her go live the life she wants for herself 🥹❤
I’m so glad that they kept in the “I love you Father” because like in the original it shows how grateful Ariel is for her father turning her into a human and letting her go despite how he feels about humans and he knows Eric is a good one ❤

I commend you for having a strong memory of every voice actor and actress in their involvement with the original films, and animated series. I’m glad their are others out their who love this franchise as much as I do.
May they all rest in paradise. I bet they all would’ve loved this remake of The Little Mermaid if they were still alive, but I know for sure they loved watching it up in Heaven’s Movie Theater, with front row seats, too!
And people say this girl didn’t put enough soul into her performance I can only shout praise and applaud her performance. And those tears are real 😢❤️💖🌸
@@justinschrank4806 i used to be that way listening to others opinions not now i still dont agree changing the source material like ariel appearance being different from the original but she did really good. and the music theres more feeling in what shes singing about like when she sings part of your world can hear frustration in her voice etc.
@@justinschrank4806 when movies come out social media makes you believe that a lot of movies are bad then u get others commenting in a more positive way. part of the negative reviews is because of views and clickbait.
A father’s love for his daughter is so beautiful. This reminds me so much of my relationship with my dad. When I moved in with my fiancé, he knew it was hard but he trust me to make my choice and always have my back. 😢❤
I didn’t cry at all. I cry every freaking time at the original. This remake didn’t have nearly as much emotion as the original. Gen Z only likes the remake because they didn’t grow up with the original. They don’t know what value the original meant to us. It’s quite sad people like the remake over the original. The original has far more emotion than this movie ever will. Nobody can beat Jodi. Halle was awful. I never saw the movie only clips but from what I have seen it looks terrible and I’m watching it going huh??? This isn’t my Ariel. Her personality is completely different. I don’t care that Halle is black but I can’t stand her singing voice or her acting. The entire thing is just awful. Only good thing about it was Vanessa. I’m sick and tired of gen z attacking myself and other millennials for hating this movie. This woke crap has to stop. Disney even confirmed the remakes are to coddle gen z. The remakes are for them. Ridiculous.
@@aspieangel1988too bad I'm gen Z and I watched both and let my heart Loved both, things that ppl like you would never understand u ppl keep harassing it just because the casting don't fit ur choice, did you even read what you wrote did you see the hatred of urs just for this movie ? Sick of being attacked? Why not be quiet and watching the OG by urself , u literally said that the Live action is for gen Z ?? Then why the complains. Ur selfish and full of hate
After seeing this movie me and mother got teary-eyed in the end, it's so heartfelt! After realizing his youngest daughter was so unhappy without Prince Eric, King Triton gave Ariel TWO blessings: to become a permanent human, and to be with the man of her dreams! Although it is Bittersweet for King Triton & the others, it made Ariel feel at her most happiest!
The last thing he needs to literally hear is those words from her, nothing more needs to be said like a "Goodbye!" Or a "See you soon!", that was enough for him to push her off onto her life, hearing those I love you words is all any father wants to hear from his little girl - phenomenonal.
Cmon..the ending totally crushed it..u know when u try to fight off the tears but dang it.. u just cant.. saw this yesterday and this scene got to me I'm telling u!! Very emotional and want to go back and see it again
Let this be a lesson To everyone who was hating on this wonderfully talented young woman. Hate only fuels the desire to do what said haters say you can’t do. And she did just that. ❤️❤️❤️ Halle Bailey made me cry more than once in this. Can’t wait til Disney us releases it for home viewing
Lol I didn’t cry at all. I was confused as hell the entire time like what the hell is this woke shit? 😂 I prefer the original. Nothing beats Jodi’s Ariel. She’ll always be the REAL ARIEL no matter what people say
Is nobody going to talk about that young blonde mermaid in blue with only one arm limb? I am so happy to see that despite her physical disability she is seen represented. Now even the young girls and boys who see this can see themselves as her and know they are valid
@@hafidbense4934you think the line was bad because Ariel is black? Lmao, you just so racist lol 😂 must be sad not to be able to enjoy a movie because you're too focused on race, that literally was never important in neither the original story and the animation.
I went to see this with my fiancé the day after it came out, we both loved it! Javier and Halle did a great job especially with the singing! Best recreation ever! ❤️❤️
I don’t understand why people are bawling. I watched it and was left feeling confused as hell like what the hell is this woke crap? It had no emotion from what I could see. Ariel’s personality is different, the singing and acting was terrible. Those of us who grew up with the original are insulted by this remake. They changed everything and that was wrong on so many levels and I can’t believe Jodi agrees with the changes. I’m sick of all this woke nonsense. I don’t care that Halle is black but she made a terrible mermaid. Happy to say I will never watch this woke garbage again.
I am a 33 year old lady, and mother of 2 girls. But this scene still makes me cry lol. I love you father! Is the message for my dad, if he reads this. ♥️
I’m a little stoic when watching movies. I wasn’t expecting this scene to hit like this. It reminded me of when my dad fixed my car up and said goodbye in the driveway right before I left my family home for the last time and drove hundreds of miles away to my first home as an independent adult. So sappy but true.
Uhhhh no, I don't think so. Like the queen was hell bent on hating the fish people and she was just suddenly okay with it? It's just some cheap words at the end to make it seem more emotional than it is. She was an ass toward all the people in her life compared to the original. I hated the cheapness of this.
I wept almost through the last 15 minutes of this beautiful movie. I could feel the love and RESPECT Ariel and her father had for one another. I also loved seeing the Mer People being represented as muti ethnic and even with differing physical abilities.
I saw this movie twice and it was wonderful. I told my provider that his wife and their two kids they would love this movie and he figured the same thing. So I’m glad that we did get a chance to see this together before we’d see this with any friends or family members of ours.
Nah dude, the OG hits the feels WAY more in my opinion. The way she says “I love you daddy”. Fuuuuuuuck, I’m a 33 year old man and that still hits me when I watch it with my girls.
same, I was just thinking that. Maybe both scenes have their merits, but the OG is way better imo~ I will say the way she delivered her "I Love you, Father" did seem genuine and sweet, but something about a girl hugging her dad on her wedding day and being like "I love you daddy" just gets me so emotional 🥺like she's still growing up and living her own life, but she'll always be his daughter~
Wrong Ariel. It’s already been confirmed Eric’s adoptive mother is black Ariel’s mother. There’s even theories going around that Jodi’s Cameo is the original Ariel and that Ursula erased her memory and gave Eric eternal youth thus why Triton didn’t want black Ariel marrying Eric lol because his other daughter was already married ROFL
@@aspieangel1988 Believe what u want too. But I don’t think that theory is correct becuz why would Disney have a incest relationship in a kids movie. Ariel’s Mom is Queen Athena not Queen Selina. That would just be weird. Why would see go to the sea witch or someone and get legs and leave her whole family. Besides it was confirmed that Ariel’s Mom had died. And why would their be 2 Ariels.
As much as I adore the ending of the animated film, the ending for the live action hits harder on a more personal level. (For me at least) for starters Ariel isn’t just marrying Eric in the end and living happily ever after, Eric and Ariel actually got to go on adventures and travel into “wild uncharted waters.” Something they’ve both had a passion for the whole film and now doing it together. Before Ariel gets on the boat she looks at her home and realizes she’s leaving her home, likely forever. Also Ariel and Triton actually getting to reconcile in the end. You can see that Ariel and Triton have a mutual respect for one another now, after disagreeing for so long. Then seeing how the merfolk came together to support Ariel’s decision to live on land. And finally Triton let’s her go, literally pushing her away into the unknown but knowing she’ll be happier on land. Truly brought tears to my eyes
It sad that it took losing her voice and being human for her dad to finaly accept her for who she was just chase her own dreams making ths ending more heartwearming ❤❤
It was the moment when she looked around and thought that there was no one there from her family..then we see Eric pause stunned and the camera shows Triton…Not a single dry eye in the theater
I wonder if they changed it to "Father" to be more time period correct? But then again Ursula mocks her and tells her to run back to "Daddy". I wonder if it's a plot hole or if they were intentionally trying to make this Ariel more distant and proper with her father vs. the 1989 animated version where she's CLEARLY a Daddy's girl & his favorite. The sentiment was there but I kinda wish it was Daddy too and he could have cast a rainbow into the sky after he yeeted their boat away.
@@catherine-eggallergyinmdyes Disney already confirmed it’s 2 different Ariel’s. At Disney world they train the actresses to say they are half sisters/
Quick thank you for posting this ending, I’d recently been traveling and as we landed the movies cut out and I missed this moment! Needless to say I was crying as we pulled into the gate😂
Coming from sombody who actually watched the movie i was great she captured ariel wonderfully i love the cartoon ariel too I saw myself in ariel as a kid and now so can this generation why ruin it for kids
@@thaoster209 yeah when mufasa died I thought that was dumb as hell. Clearly just an attempt to resonate with the audience by having a parent and child thing 🙄
❤❤❤ 😊 Alan Menken you did it again thank you the soundtrack is amazing beautiful ❤❤❤ Lin Mendel thank you and to the cast of the movie it’s beautiful the ending made me smile and cry hope for more in the future 😊
I saw this movie in the cinemas. Bruh I tell you, tears falling even a man worth 30s or 40s was tearing up in front right next to his two little daughters
lol no it wasn’t. The original has far more emotion and it angers me people are disrespecting the original and can’t see the originals beauty. I always cry at the original. This movie? Hell no! I cried tears of sorrow and anger and disappointment because this remake ruined my childhood. It was like a slap in the face. Happy to say I’ll never watch this woke shit piece of garbage again and I pity anyone who feels this is better than the original!!! 😡
I was about to fall asleep on this part of the movie, and then that guy with red fish fin I was like O MY GOSH THAT ABS BABY That was so embarrassing on the Cenema everyone is looking at me
I wish she sang the finale chorus (as heard in the animated version) as the boat drifted off -camera up close on her face looking out ahead at her new journey in life. Would have made the movie feel more complete in my opinion. The last song she sang (in her head) was a depressing reprise, so the finale chorus sung solo by Ariel would have been the perfect happy ending as she has her voice back.
It was a wonderful ending. I wouldn't change a thing to the ending. But an idea popped in my head. Since Mickey, Donald, and Goofy had cameos in the 89 Little Mermaid, and with the advancement of AI, wouldn't it be cool seeing the heroes of the Marvel and Star Wars universes having cameos as mermaids and merman in this scene? LOL. I think baby Grogu would look cute with fins 😂.
I love you father: Respectful feared response. People who say father or mother respect their parents but fear them usually. I love you daddy: Loving close complicated relationship. Those who say daddy or mama usually are close to their parents and in healthy relationships. You can tell the difference between both Ariel’s personalities. The 2023 one is depressed, anxious, fearful, respectful, cunning, manipulative, follows the rules, and constantly socially awkward, empowered and afraid. Not somebody I can relate to. The original was rebellious, brave, bold, headstrong, sensitive, courageous, tough and fought for what she believed in. She longed to be loved. The 2023 one longed for freedom. I prefer the original. I would rather be loved and accepted for who I am than to be free from those who hurt me. One mermaid wanted freedom from her family, and used Eric to get there, the other mermaid wanted to be loved and accepted but didn’t want to abandon her family so you can tell the difference between the two. Jodi’s Ariel will always be my Ariel ❤
Having seen the movie for myself, I was feeling like Peter Griffin when he saw Autumn's Piano with Lois. I even imagined this the back of my head as the finale played out; Peter sits in his chair, curled up to his legs and on the verge to cry. Ariel: I love you, Father. Peter: No!!! Why?! Why?! But a mermaid has no tears and there you are having them for the first time in your life!😢😭👏 Peter gets up crying as he applauds the movie he's been hooked by.
Can you post where the Ariel sisters are heading to the palace and the fishes are following them? I can't figure the species of the fish that follows Caspia 😭
@@yogierukwanda9517 yeah it's red gurnard but Jesus Christ Disney recolor their wing fins with blue and put white polkadot all over their body when the original is already looking good
I got a feeling a lot of those extras at the end are stunt doubles for the sisters. Some look very similar to at least one of the sisters and have very similar costumes also
