Thank you for being so awesome! Seriously, you're revising an entire pattern because some people didn't get along with your wording or didn't trust the process. Whereas I've been a participant in pattern tests where the designers didn't give a damn about our feedback and didn't change anything in the pattern - and that's for patterns that are supposed to be paid for. I couldn't watch the livestream because of those annoying time zones. 4am is not a time I want to consider being awake. 😅 I did watch the stream afterwards though and I think it's great that you're doing this regularly now. Maybe Skein Spider and you could do a livestream together sometime? Something like "Frankenpattern - it's (a)live!" for example. 😂 That would certainly be a lot of fun, and I (and I'm sure many others) would really enjoy it.

Watching this, I can see it's actually a good idea - if you're attempting to invent your own plushie patterns - to design your little friends to be very strictly bicolored like this at least at first. Because then you have a designated Up and Down, Front and Back, or Left and Right, and it's easier to make sure you're getting the shaping where you actually want it. Are color changes irritating? idk maybe, I haven't done bicolored crochet very often (read as: I've done it for a single project, and haven't done it since), but I'm sure that a small annoyance throughout the project would be better than a big annoyance at the end when you've finished it and realized that it's twisted all higgeldy-piggeldy (idk how to spell that, you get what I mean). (Edit: I mean, or just have two stitch markers in your work the whole time, one to mark where your row begins and ends and one to mark which way is Up. Either way.) Edit: I also realize the problem I was having when I was trying to make my own pattern once before and struggling to figure out where I did what. I was using invisible increases and decreases in that, and while they do look cleaner, they're also a *nightmare* to try to find when you're attempting to make sure you know what you're doing in the pattern-invention process. I try that again, I'll use normal increases and decreases, just to make my own life easier for seeing where I stuck those. Once the pattern's golden, THEN I'll go future runs with the invisibility stitches.

Im a beginner, and Im having issues with the colour placement. Im not sure what Im doing wrong. At the end of row 2, I have one white on my hook, but then only 9 white stitches before I meet the 2 gray again. The grey stripe ends up going diagonally to the left if I keep going as the pattern says. I cant figure out what Im doing wrong, can somebody with more experience help?
Hi, I'm assuming that you're referring to the end of row 2 for the head/body piece where you should have 12 total sts, 10 white and 2 grey. If you have 9 white stitches and 2 grey stitches, that would mean you're only increasing 4 times with white instead of 5 times, but I can't be sure where without a visual. Right after switching to grey, you can count the number of sts to check if you're on the right track; there would be 11 sts before completing the increase in grey, which then brings you to 12.
Hello! The big thing to watch out for the with the colour changes in this/my patterns is that they always need to be done in the stitch BEFORE it says the colour in pattern. This is because the colour change stitch ends up the "old" colour, not the new colour. It sounds like you might not have enough stitches in your round, so let's step through row 2 and see if it helps! 1. At the end of row 1 you should have 6 white stitches in your round. I suggest counting to double check, I've done 5 or 7 by mistake plenty of times. 2. Then in row 2 you work 4 increases, and the first stitch of the 5th increase in your white, and the second stitch of the 5th increase should be used to change to your grey. At this point, if you counted the number of stitches around you would have 11. 3. To finish row 2 you need to work a grey increase, so the first stitch is grey, and the second stitch is changing back to your white. So at the end of Row 2, you should have 10 white stitches and 2 grey stitches in your round, so 12 stitches total in your around. I hope this helps!
