I hope that this crime against the Jews will never be forgotten. So many people died for the ideas of a few. May all victims that died during the holocaust and World War II rest in peace.
@@yaelelerner3544 ohhh that's terrible but very fascinating history. It wrenches my guts but if you are very interested I can share some mindblowing facts which you probably won't find anywhere else. Such a shame for some good Jewish compatriots which could have lived nice and peaceful life together in Kaunas...

Most-of my Bubbe’s family was murdered by Einsatzgruppen at the Ninth Fort massacres. Of those who remained in the Kovno ghetto, all but four family members remained in the Kovno ghetto. Of those, two later died in the ghetto. Only my Bubbe and one brother survived the war. There were fourteen children in immediate family, and over-seventy extended family, all murdered or starved to death. #NEVERAGAIN!
Abram Sielecki, my great-grandfather, and Marek Sielecki, granduncle, were in the Kovno Ghetto. Mr. Dov Levin exchanged letters with my grandmother, Hanna Sielecka, in 2001. He told her that my granduncle was his friend in the Kono ghetto, and that her father worked as the manager of the Wäsherei (laundry). As far as he knew, both perished during the liquidation of the ghetto.
My good friend, Esther Epstein, and her family were in the Kovno Ghetto. Her parents and two younger brothers were murdered in September 1941. She and her two sisters survived the war.
@@michaellerner6986 The Gaza Strip is essentially a ghetto. And the West Bank is only a little better. Many teenagers have approached border fences and been shot just like what happened to Jews who approached the fence around the ghetto that was guarded by German soldiers. The policy of Israel toward the Palistinian territories is one of almost continuous occupation. Israel controls everything that comes and goes from their side of the West Bank or Gaza. Israel consistently limits food and medication to the territories. Territory occupants are frequently captured by Israeli forces and held indefinately and tortured. They have often died in Israeli with a lie given as explanation or no explanation!! A palistinian american journalist was recently shot by a sniper which the Israel gov. even admitted to but said no explanation would be forthcoming. Then there are the Israeli settlements on the West Bank in violation of a previous UN agreement, but the US always backs up Israel. These are only a fragment of the atrocities committed against the Palistinians by Israel.
The Soviets and Nazis both ruined Europe and millions of innocent Jewish lives since 1939. History gives us valuable lessons of the past to not repeat the tragedy.
Lithuania has blood on its hands. Kaunas was the most vicious pogrom. Every time I meet a Lithuanian, I think of Kaunas. Sorry. I know the young people are not responsible for what happened 80 years ago. Never forget!
This is the story of my family. My uncle was murdered in the children's aktion ( he was 6), my grandfather was sent to Dachau and my grandmother to Stuttof. My grandfather also did not survive.
@@Autojones Hello, I'm aware of the suffering of the Palestinian people, but here, on this message board, is not the place to insidiously attack Jews. Apologies if that was not your intention. I hope you can see that it's a desecration of the memory of those Jews, gypsies, disabled who suffered unimaginable horrors not only during the holocaust - but in the decade leading up to it. It's a distraction from this important story and to me that's very, very worrying. There are many forums here on RU-vid upon which we can debate the Palestinian situation. If I were you, I'd like to think I would have the sensitivity to honour that choice. I know there's a difference between "Jews" and "Zionist", but whenever I see posts like yours on boards related to the Holocaust it troubles me greatly. The danger is that the casual reader subconsciously thinks to himself, "Who cares about Jewish Holocaust victims when the Palestinians suffer."
The Jewish Históry is full of facts and tragédies. Shoa is near tô us. We all know survivers and much of us lost famíly members. We must NEVER forget Shoa and persecutions through all the centuries. Very good historical film. Only one fact - Kaunas was occupied the second time by the Soviet army on 1st, August 1944, not liberated. Later many Jews were deported to Siberia and Gulag system labor camps...

Most of the Jews who were deported by soviet in 40 survived to the war, even hard life conditions ... sometimes it is necessary to avoid the usual anti soviet propaganda just to respect the truth, just to be honest ... thanks
Lithuania should be ashamed of themselves they have blood in their hands for all their evilness But everyone who collaborated may KARMA come and get you
Most of them are still not ashamed today!! There are neo-nazi défilés still nowadays!! They held some of their nazi idols monuments. Some years ago, the day after a pro-nazi défilé (procession/demonstration), the next day, the 2nd WW deported people demonstrated as a sign of protest, very old people, in deportation camp habits across Vilna. Then, the police came and arrested these old survivors!!!!!! And had approved of the day-before demonstration of neo-nazis!!! Here is the way things are. A very few people change!! There are documents showing Lithuanian mothers assisting to the massacre of Jews applauding together with their young children!! How do you think these young children became once they grew up and became adults???

The Jewish question should be addressed once and for all. The way to try this is for re-education of the population of earth. This time history will be told truthfully for the first time in history. It would be uncomfortable for probably the whole planet. We are all guilty because directly or indirectly we all play a part, regardless of the size of our part. We all live on the planet don't we. Today, I still stand against any nation that does this evil ✌️☘️

June 15th 1940 - Aug 1, 1944... 3000/ 40 000 Jews remained alive. The Soviets did like the nazis when they invaded Lita - stole assets. Until Operation Barbarossa - 1 year later....the Germans 'spat in the Russia face', invading Russia despite Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact. Anti Soviet LIthuanians had managed to murder Jews prior to the Germans arrival. ( Where are they now? Street names?) Nazis were better at nazi stuff than the Russians. Opaque to suffering, cruelty, driven by perfectionism.
There are mountains if evidence of the holocaust and you have a video documentary right there in front of you!! Are you slso going to deny the dozens, no hundreds of other youtube videos about the holocaust as well?? Denial of the holocaust is no sign of a person who wants to truth to be known.
@@MM-lu2zk IBM Co. had European Jews with addresses on IBM cards to tell where Jews lived. Not address cards, but IBM cards. Do you even know the difference?
Not Germany as a whole. Hitler, his henchmen, the Nazis and their supporters yes, but not the majority of the German people. Also the WWI Treaty of Versailles basically forced Germany to rise up and start a war. It was very unfair.
A lot of nazis were not brought to justice. A lot of them killed a lot of innocent people. A lot of them returned to their hometown and led a normal life. They never said I'm sorry. They were sorry that they lost the war. Take for example Flensburg. The city of Flensburg was a stronghold of former nazis and SS cadre. They had normal lives with family and friends.
