The Lizzie McGuire Movie is a 2003 Disney Channel comedy film based on the Disney Channel show Lizzie McGuire which was released on May 2, 2003, by Walt Disney Pictures. The movie follows main character Lizzie (played by Hilary Duff) as she is promoted from junior high school and goes on a class trip to Rome.
The movie opened with little positive feedback from critics, but reached number two in the United States box office on release in early May 2003. Filming was finished by late 2002 with reshoots taking place early 2003.
The DVD was released on August 12, 2003.

I was eleven when this came out. I begged my dad to take me and eventually he caved. May 3, 2003 It also became one of our favorite movies to see together over the years. Even from far away he would call and be like "are you watching? It's on Starz!!" XD lol R.I.P. Daddy I miss you :,)

Yeah I hadn't paid attention to that in my commenting. I was trying to say he made me laugh by calling me to tell me the movie was on....I can see how that seems weird. :/ I'll get better at this internet thing eventually. *shrugs*

I just recently came back from Rome, and my first thought when I got home was that I need to go watch the Lizzie McGuire Movie so I can look at it and be like, "hey, I was there". I'm so pumped for this.

This is an amazing movie, my childhood. My best friend and I went to Rome and before we left we watched this, make references while we were there and like recited the entire movie on the plane ride there. Best experience EVER!

If u look on Wikipedia, she graduated junior high(middle school) at 14 in this movie. Hilary duff although was 16 in the movie.

When I went to Rome I kept feeling like I was in this movie but I never was mistaken for a pop star....pity. Oh well if that happened I wouldn't have gotten to go to Vienna, Prague or Paris so it's all good.

I still don't understand why they never released the entire series on DVD. This one show defined a generation; from kids who had it all and wanted friendship, to the less popular kids just trying to make it, and others who had fun with anything handed to them. Regardless of sales, they need to release the series. Future generations need to know the greatness that was Lizzie McGuire.

So this is what Disney was like back then???? From Shows and movies that is inspired by the show, to Shows with the cast having adventures or misadventures like Jessie, Liv and Maddie, Austin and Ally and More. It’s actually the same plot as Frozen but with a Lizzie McGuire coating. It helps that both are my day program member Tanya’s favorite movies and this one was even released on her birthday

Excellent Movie! BEAUTIFUL! 10/10! Love it! Nostalgia is slapping me so hard right now, it hurts. I loved this movie, my dad would get annoyed by it watching it everyday and listening to the songs. I love this movie ❤️ Forever will love this movie.

Lizzie McGuire was my OBSESSION when i was little! I saw this movie in theaters legit 3 times and bought the VHS and DVD the second they came out lol. i was on vacation with my family and because i was such a little spoiled brat i made my mom buy them for me so we could watch it in the hotel xD
