Saw a copy of this book for sale on Vinted, I love Bridget Collins so much and I have a copy of her new book on order. I have to say I prefer the original cover myself, I do like the edges though. The Binding that she wrote is one of my favourite books ever. It looks decent but I do really prefer the original cover.

It will be interesting to see what is under the dust jacket on the Waterstones one I have ordered as the first run of books have a special hardcover and special endpapers.

This is what annoys me as The Locked Library were meant to do books that did not appear in any other subscription service but again they have tripped themselves up as Goldsboro are doing it. They need to make sure they are unique and don’t pick titles that other subscription services are doing.

Hi Michelle, You know, I kinda like the understated design of this edition. The traditional portraits of the man and woman are beautiful and the background foliage is dramatic ... as is the stencilled design on the end papers. I always feel like with a books end papers if there is no design on them ... if they're just blank white ... then the book doesn't feel properly finished. Having said all of that ... I confess that I have ordered the Goldsboro edition! :) I tend to haunt their site and when I saw that edition my fingers were hitting the purchase button before my brain had fully registered the impact of that glorious design!!! Sigh! I have to add here that the sight of all those Locked Library editions on your bookshelf makes my heart sing!!! They look so beautiful together, don't they?? It's cool and rainy here today, hubby and I have just got home from having our hair cut and I'm gonna spend my afternoon watching BookTubers videos and dreaming of my new library. It is a beautiful edition... I just can't help but compare it to the Goldsboro edition. I'm happy for you that you have gone for that one :) ... I love my Locked Library collection. I think that they will move downstairs to the living room when I get a few more (on a high up shelf where Poto (the dog) can't get to them. I hope that you're having a good relaxing weekend :) Can't wait to see the new library (when you move and get to it)... it will all be worth the hard work. :)
