Very fair comments, I've always felt Hinterlands two biggest problems are that Raphs twitter is the main place for game news and that they struggle with deadlines and certainty. The first is solved by professional communications. The second with dedicated project management tools and training. The game itself, the art and the style is fantastic, those are the strengths of the current team and they should continue with that. But they do have areas of weakness. Historically Raphs response to failing to meet announced deadlines has been to stop giving them! That's not the correct response. Take the recent dev diary, we were told 'end of September', on the LAST DAY of September we were told that there were a few minor tweaks needed and wouldn't be out yet (communicated via Raphs twitter). Ok so that sounds like a minor tweak and expected the next day or so... it landed on the 20th of October. Three weeks later! Project manager tips, ask yourself how long something will take. THEN ask how long it will take if everything goes 'normally' and there are no unforeseen issues such as someone off sick or a supplier delay. If those timescales are the same then you've set an unrealistic deadline!

OK I watched 2min of this. But it has been over a year. I don't see any info if this is worth getting. Because aside from enjoyment of the main game Wintermute, the basic survival mode just doesn't seem worth it. You just scrounge around aimlessly from what I can tell. So maybe there is something offered with the expansion that makes it more worth it to play.

LMG, I never have gotten any youtube notifications. I know that's a youtube thing, but is there any way to stay ahead of new episode releases? Also your critique has been fair especially coming from a 8 year streamer of the game.

Thankfully I couldn't play the game on launch day due to life stuff, so my experience has been super smooth. I also managed to tease out that only map+deer+loot refresh would be there on launch so my expectations were in check. I think the biggest issue is that they are smashing together a Live Service model and an Expansion Pack model, and they don't really mix well, imo. An example I can think of is Elite: Dangerous with its Horizon and Odyssey expansions, and they both (moreso odyssey) soured player trust with how slowly content was metered out, bugs, etc. HOWEVER, I think they both also made a lot of money, so it does fund a game. Ideally they would have all 3 maps finished and all content sorted and released it all at once, but it would mean waiting a year+ for it, and it would hugely increase the financial risk of making the DLC on their end.

It's one of favorite games and I paid so little for it. I bought it on pc and xbox, I have no problem with the expansion price seeing I got all the others for free.

A little less content than I anticipated, but I think the amount of content is fine enough. Would have been cool to have more content given it's the absolute first release, but again, I'm content. My biggest issue is honestly the number of bugs with the game now. Stuttering in menus, invisible and/or levitating items/furniture/corpses, some lighting issues, geology errors, menu overlays when opening containers or passing time, and hitbox problems in terms of certain items--particularly old man's beard lichen which has maybe 2-3 pixels which give you a prompt to harvest.

Two bugs encountered so far. Everything I own disappearing after coming out of cave (had to restart to fix but this will really suck if it saved over) + falling through floor after climbing hill with branches. Other than that, I've been enjoying new contents.

Do I get to say”I told you so …”. Yet? I held off from buying because everyone was complaining about the broken game on launch! Still holding out for a better discount. Making sure this isn’t a Cash Grab.

you know, this airfield got me thinking, if you could strip out the electronic parts from a plane you could fly out, the Aurora screws up electronics, not internal combustion, I bet you could drive a model T just fine in that game

Will they wipe again in 8 weeks when they add new stuff again or will they integrate it into your existing save? Cause I don’t want to start a game for nothing

Two glitches. A freind walked into the new area, had everything he had collected vanish. Even his shoes changed back into the cheap sneakers. For me, my sleeping bag vanished after I slept in a bed.

How do i find the dlc for ps5, i had to buy the game and thats fine but cant find the dlc, any thought?

I'm a bit disappointed with what came out on part one. I would rather have soup, cougars and other stuff before any new maps. I haven't heard of any new items in the new zones.

Insomnia affliction does not affect whether I can sleep or not, is it a bug?

If I start a game and start playing, Will I have to start a new save to get the areas and features they’re adding in the future, Or will they be added to my existing save? I appreciate any one who can give me an answer.

There is a persistent beeping noise in your video bro just wanted to let you know. Also I don't think there is enough content here because I think people are missing that $20 is a hell of a lot of money for a DLC. I could buy the game twice over on a sale for that much so I do expect a lot like my expectations are high also because i see the price of DLC other developers charge and even tripple A games don't charge this much for DLC. Thing is they could of given us at least 30 new items and i would be happy but all we got was a new area like common i'm getting heated because it's like seeing your girl who you know can dress like a 9 dress like a 4. Like look at how many items Terraria gave. That is a gem of a game, free updates for their entire life with so many new items each update. I'm more dissapointed then anything else like you guys could off done so much better.

I have noticed I fall through the floor when entering buildings pretty often, that's just terrible coding. Are the devs some sketchy eastern Europeans? Btw, was I right in hearing you say you've covered this game DAILY for EIGHT YEARS? If so, my dude, it's time to delete your RU-vid, smash your computer, and go outside. You get less for murder in my country.
